There is nothing wrong with recreating songs or presenting your version of them. HOWEVER, WHAT MATTERS IS THAT YOU MUST GIVE PROPER AND HONEST CREDIT TO THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS AND ENTITIES. Because, after all, their work has set the foundation of your version of the song and its success.

Why they are not so called re creating their own songs, in case they are not copied as well.
