  • All Your Love Lyrics
All your love, baby can it be mine
All your love, baby can it be mine
I hate to be the one
The one love you left behind
All your love, baby don't put around
All your love, baby don't put around
    Love is one thing baby
You won't find on the ground
All your love, I've got to have one day
All your love, I've got to have one day
    Don't you leave me baby
    Please come back this way

One of the things I always appreciated about Mr. Maghett were his incredible vocals. Of course he could play like fire and his influence is well-documented, but that absolutely clear and smooth voice of his was so unique. Especially, since so many of his peers went in the opposite direction. Magic Sam was belting out those piercing high-octaves, while nearly everyone else was growling into the mic. It was almost as if his guitar playing was framed around his vocals, instead of the other way around. It's why you hear all those beautiful little fills between verses.
Magic Sam could sing like an angel and play like the devil, which makes the man pretty much incomparable to nearly everyone else.

The blues played by the black American's are paramount there are those who understand the blues and those who don't. For those who do it touches your soul like no other music ever can. Yes, the black blues legends make the ultimate blues music.

This is from a European show, that's why they are playing through Sound City amps and Sam borrowed Earl's guitar.
It was one of the "American Folk And Blues" concert series that ran through the 60's. (if they were in America they probably would be using Fender amps and Sam would be playing a hollow body Guild or a Fender Stratocaster.

You're probably right--Earl Hooker's final tour was to Europe and that would also explain the German subtitles : )... All I know is that Sam passed on (December '69) two months after Earl Hooker began his tour in Europe (in October '69).

there is video of earl hooker at this show playing the archtop. maybe they were just messing around, but they could be playing ukuleles and still be some of the most bad ass men to walk this earth.

The name of the tour, to be exact, is the American Folk Blues Festival, often represented AFBF. It was funded/produced by two German businessmen, Horst Lippmann and Fritz Rau. This ought to lead you to the rest of it.

This guy ripped up the 1st Ann Arbor Blues Festival in '69. I was lucky enough to be there, and he was absolutely amazing. I wish he had lived longer, because he would have been one of the bluesmen to benefit from the added popularity of the blues. GREAT stuff!

Sam's tone, feel, and playing at 0.48 through the entire All Your Love is just incredible. Incredible. This had me from the first note/ riff. Seeing playing like this makes me forget just about all pedals and effects. This is all heart, soul, and fingers..... Both touching and inspiring. Huge thanks for posting! Sam wasn't with us long, but he is a legend and will not be forgotten.

+Lauren Peot There's a long list of "Jimi's favorite guitarists." I've heard same said of Earl Hooker, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, not sure who all else but he had good ears and was just (I think) trying to point people to something beyond what they'd get from the radio.

+Lauren Peot Albert King was another person, I can't possibly remember all of them, but I started to make a note of statements that 'Jimi Hendrix liked so-and-sos playing.'

SAM!!! Your wrecking this much havoc with a suit and tie on and someone else's guitar??? Sly Stone once said in the studio -- and being that Sly's first group the Sons of Ray with Billy Preston had a blues focus-- when he met jimi Hendrix, they both shared awe for Mr Magic Sam = an emperor of the blues! True dat from legend to legend.
