We are staying in the most recommended diving resort, Castaway Resort, where we will be trying scuba diving for the first time! Koh Lipe is a tiny island paradise located in the Tarutao National Marine Park, famous for its coral-rich waters and spectacular dive sites.

@@FloraandNote Such a nice area here in Taling Ngam. Samui vibes like back in the old days. Check out the beach between i-Talay and Intercontinental or just stop by our place - we are hidden in the jungle. A bit remote, nice and quiet... Have fun :)

@@FloraandNote We have done many dives in Thailand. However, these were years ago and I could not offer suggestions that would be valid today. In general, I like what you showed us of the clear waters in Lipe. That area all the way to Krabi would be ideal. You know enough now to interview dive shops and find the right vibe, right instructor and attitudes to make your Open Water cert experience fun.

Awesome to see the two of you have been diving. Myself I'm a scuba diving instructor on Samui but due to the circumstance haven't been diving in a long time. Really missing it. But great to see the two of you having made this experience :) I'm sure it has not been that last time...
That's awesome, Daniel! You must have seen so many interesting things in the underwater world. We're looking forward to getting certified. Do you have any recommendations for where we should go in Samui, Phangan or Koh Tao?
Oh yes... I've seen a few nice things throughout the last 10 yrs. For diving over here you need to go to either Sail Rock or Ko Tao. Sail Rock is one of the best dive sites in Thailand so definitely check that one out. There are still a few operators on Samui that go to Sail Rock but you would need to check with them as they are not able to do trips every day. Can ask me on details anytime :) In the meantime: Enjoy your trip around Southern Thailand.

That looks like an amazing introduction to diving. Such great personal tuition. We have done a lot of diving around Koh tao which was great but would love to try other places. I was very nervous to begin with but it’s so worth it and I love the moray eel too❤️

@@FloraandNote yes we dived there in 2019. It was really good. I can remember seeing massive groupers and a huge school of barracudas but the visibility that day was not great. We really liked chumphon pinnacle, we saw a baby whale shark there. Talking about it is making me ache to come back. You are very lucky❤️❤️

Thank you! We're also glad to see some growth on our channel 😍 Someone actually looked it up and said maybe I didn't have enough oxygen. I felt fine underwater and had no problems coming up at all. So I'm not completely sure. I think I do have a tendency to take short breaths.. so maybe I need to work on taking longer, deeper breaths before I try diving any deeper.

Which place did you prefer , 10 Moon resort, or Castaway Resort, please?
They’re quite different - 10 moons is laid back and super friendly (amazing snorkeling) but Castaway has more action and food is great!

Great for backpackers.
Very different atmosphere (and price point) but we enjoyed it as well 😍 I was a bit worried about no air con but we were actually cold at night - had to turn down the fan!

I'm not sure. I think maybe I was cold? Or maybe I was biting onto the regulator too hard? Haha Note and Keira were fine.... it was just me 😂
@@FloraandNote i googled it and purple lips can be caused by the red blood cells not getting enough oxygen. You were probably very nervous and weren't breathing enough or maybe regulator pressure?

They recommended these to us at the pharmacy but I think we’re going to get better ones for next time. We were lucky not to feel sleepy but I think you’re right... they aren’t non-drowsy pills 🤭
