I'm American and it's out of reach for us. These new utes/trucks are built the same way as older utes. The new ones has a million sensors and the replacement/repairs are very difficult and expensive.
Out of the box suspension is mint, just people don't understand spool valves here yet and how to tune them. My zr2 feels like driving over a cloud on corrugations
just curious in regard to all the added weight , appreciate you have tried to use aluminium for most but all the fitout components are heavy and the ZR2 only has 700KG payload so by the time you filled up the Bigger fuel tank , fresh water tanks and supplies to actually do long range mission you would not be able to Carry any Passengers < Is there a reason you didn't opt for the 2500 that would have been more practical with capacity ? DOES look Bloody Good however

Not sure who supplied the information but the engine is a variant of the LT2 motor known as L87 and the transmission is a Chevrolet 10L80 which was a collaboration with Ford, not an Allison
I absolutely love Jase and Simon and ALL 4, however these builds are getting more and more into the upper 1% class. Not many can afford $250K plus for a 4WD tourer. Sure it is great, but of all your viewers, I bet only 1% could afford these builds, or they are young, overpaid FIFO DINKs. I do love the snorkels, and the bar and wrap are outstanding. Jase next year PLEASE do an ISUZU 155/75 NPS dual cab, as these are getting MASSIVELY popular over last 2-3 years.....
If you didn't have all the sponsors, how much would a rig like that run ya? 250,000? 300,000? Would be nice to see a comparison between this and the F250 build. Maybe you could do a video comparing the two and tell us which you like better after you do a season of touring on it.
Wow, what an awsome 400K truck, wont be seeing many of those on the tracks. Need a Harrop blower to give it some more grunt to go with that Chevy V8 growl. Would make for a totally awsome raffle (or one like it) for kids charity. I'll be sticking with my 78 though, that's about as high tech as I'm willing to go for remote traveling, without the multivehicle backup and budget these utubers have.

I just looked it up and the standard GVM is only 3300kgs but it weighs 2500kgs, leaving only 750kgs payload! A 1980 hilux can carry more...these are really just giant SUVs in a way
Yup my missus 1996 gen 3 surf has 750kg payload. All yank Ute's suffer from this huge over site. At 4.5t towing this ute only has a payload of 68kgs* and people and fuel weight is included in that. So a very light person could sit in the ute ut wouldn't be allowed to have any fuel lool

Im a peasant patrol guy myself, one of those huge monstrosities wouldnt make it through the bush tracks where i live, already cane the paint and panel on the GU to get down em.
Yup next to no payload, can never tow or have it's full payload at the same time. Very questionable fuel usage. Reliable gearbox?? Please.. many more things to list haha

Just remember it's more that likely that you're core followers & supporters couldn't even a 2020 78 series.. I run a 96 lux surf.
If I'm honest, looking at the damage in the end footage, that truck is too big and too heavy. The build is just pure excess and unnecessary. I would choose the D-Max any day between the two builds, and frankly, the vehicles peaked with Back In Black. It was exactly what it should be. Everything that mattered and was needed, was there, and I honestly think it outperformed the builds since. The 200 series and the Ford where fragile, or got stuck more often. That being said, it seem that the D-Max is now what Back In Black was back then. The D-Max is rock solid and the 79 was also perfect and reliable.
You absolutely MUST get a Dynamic Fuel Management disable on this engine! The lifters commonly fail when DFM is active. Disable it and you will be golden.
What aftermarket fuel tank did you install on your truck? Here in the states, its been a pain to find a bigger fuel tank solution for the 6.2l V8. 26 gallons is not big enough for these trucks.
Will use less fuel than LC79 with the same fruit. I have had a 79 now have a Chev shits all over 79 especially on the Highway. Why would it have such a small tank otherwise.

I came here to also say why trash the DSSV shocks with just plain struts. Peak Suspension makes coilover upgrades for the DSSV.
Had to be thrown out for the GVM upgrade.

well, it's an LS, so the sky's the limit on power mods. Not that you want a highly stressed engine where those guys go.

Pretty obvious the thing had a GVM upgrade. That's why the stock suspension had to be ditched.
