    I still stand by the allbirds, even though they have switched the insoles to a synthetic fiber - I now buy the wool insoles when I buy new tree breezers. I have allbirds, yikes, Rothy’s, and lucky brand ballet flats. Allbirds are the only ones that don’t develop a smell over time. That being said, allbirds won’t last forever like the Rothy’s, but still, allbirds are all around more comfortable and my go-to favorite shoe that I buy over and then over again.

    I find the Allbirds to be more comfortable and breathable than Rothys. I agree that the Rothys are the clear winner in style.

      @@Chicprofessor - I think the round toe Rothys are super comfortable too. They aren’t as cute as the points but I really like them.

    My wool runners are the most comfortable shoe I own. I have two pairs, a black and a navy. I use these at work (I'm a teacher, usually on my feet, although these days sitting more than I'd like due to distance learning). I also own two pairs of Rothy's (the flat, I found the point not as comfortable), also in the same colors. They are very comfortable and I do love them. I got them on discount through the teacher program. I've washed them several times and I have to admit that I'm concerned they may be developing holes! I may try the tree breezers. I've purchased the everlane glove (?) shoe and didn't care for it, they were sent back. Thanks for sharing Jessica!

      That’s great! I didn’t care for the glove shoe either. You may like the breezers! I have never heard of the Rothy’s getting holes but I guess they could like any fabric washed enough! Thank you for watching and sending you all the positive distance learning vibes!

    I have 11 pairs of point flats and wear them during summers, including hot dry or humid summers, and never had any issues with odors

    You should check out Vivala Aria and Vienna flats. They are sustainable (made from plastic bottles), have thick-cut natural insole, are machine washable and are only $79.00.

    Hi what kind of insoles do you use with your rothys?

    • @Chicprofessor

      Usually just a thin dr. Scholls but in some of the boots or sneakers I will use superfeet ones

    Hello.
    Do you find the Everlane flats breathable to be worn sockless for an entire workday? Or do they make the feet sweat a lot?
    Also, have you noted any odour issues with these flats?

      Hi! I didn’t wind up keeping the Everlane partially because they didn’t breathe that well but I didn’t notice any odor issues. I hope that helps!

      @@Chicprofessor thank you. Just curious considering the material of the other shoes...have they been good for you. Or have you noted odour issues when wearing them for long?

    I love my Rothys for looks, washing, and wear and tear. However, they do not breathe and I have issues with odor worse than any other shoe I've ever owned. This may be a matter of how much you sweat in your feet, but also climate based. I reside in Las Vegas, so it is very hot and lots of sweating. If you live in a cooler climate, there would be less sweat build up.

    • @Chicprofessor
      @Chicprofessor  Před 3 lety

      I can understand that- different climates definitely make a difference in sweat! I find that so interesting as I've never noticed even the slightest odor after wearing them around all day on a hot NYC summer day. It is unfortunate that you've had such an issue with that but I'm glad you like them for all of the other aspects!

    Disappointing you don’t acknowledge the merino insole of the allbirds- will wicks away sweat and lend to a cooler feel than the plastic of the Rothy’s. I could be biased because I own multiple pairs of tree runners- they are also better for my high arches as they have more support with a significantly thicker insole.

    • @Chicprofessor

    Hi! I purchased a pair of the rothys loafers a good while ago for work. I think they are a great quality shoe and look so pretty on your feet, however I am one of those people who find they make my feet stink so much quicker than pretty much any other flat shoe I have (embarrassing to admit), certainly any that cost this much, which I'm not sure why as people such as yourself have had no issues. however everyone's feet is different and sweat different. I do like in a slightly hotter climate though but still it's a bit of a mystery to me. Do you or have you ever owned a certain pair of shoes that are like this and say wow, they really give me this problem? I think it's an interesting topic, could depend on materials for people! Interested to know your thoughts. I might have commented on one of your rothys videos before too, haha. Thanks 😊

    • @Chicprofessor

      It does seem to be quite different for different people! The only shoe I’ve had this issue with were my Gucci loafers!

  • @phojar1
    @phojar1 Před 3 lety +1

    Just curious - you mention you have several of the points but do you have any other Rothy's styles? I don't have much of an issue with sweat in the points, but the Rothy's sneakers are like putting your feet in a steam room and it is TERRIBLE. I absolutely love the shoes, the style, etc but for the love of God add a tiny breather hole.

    • @Chicprofessor
      @Chicprofessor  Před 3 lety

      I have had the flats and loafers in the past and recently tried a pair of the drivers but I haven't tried the sneakers. I have the points, the slide sandals, and a pair of boots and haven't had any trouble with them not breathing but I think that might be the style!
