Feel the same. I saw another interview he gave and went straight out and bought a board. About two months ago. Since then I've got into the whole thing and have got another no expense spared. Still just going up and down but building confidence. Just love the feeling and freedom of it. I will crack it. BTW I'm a 50 year old. A little crazy but getting a lot of pleasure from it. Thanks to Rodney.
@@taistyveg This comment is a year old but I hope you're still around, where are you right now with skateboarding after this one year? I'd love to hear if you're still on it!
I love how he sees that he's only modified other people's work, not inventing the tricks. That he's so humble and doesn't like taking credit for certain tricks, just that he did them by accident. More famous people could learn how to behave from him
So humble....It is obvious though that this is how he is. He talks in the same manner about those things as he talked 30 years ago. It like having Einstein talking the Theory of Relativity and saying: "I was just lucky...-My pen basically wrote the Theory itself"
I grew up watching this skater He's amazing I love the guy I skated because of him and seeing he had a Mullen Last name sealed my Thoughts on skating. I WANT TO comeback to skating.
Rodney always gets asked the questions over and over and over......Dont get me wrong Mullen kicks, but there were people skating street before him Dressen, gonz, mike v, natas, tommy g, and i know im leaving alot of people out that i just cant think of..... But u watch video days, its awesome.... but then u watch virtual reality, which was just 2 years later..... and wow.....
Marco Arce I guess You're right in a way. But i think People like to listen And hear Rodney speak. He is very intelligent And has a way of conveying his mental positive process which he has in skateboarding (he's very analytical) into and onto Other businessess And such. You cannot deny That his analytical enthousiasm makes you wanna hear what he has to say. That type of intrinsic motivation can be 'used' everywhere. Hence the requests for him as a speaker. Btw, I have never heard Him claiming sole rights to being the best or anything like That. 👍🏻
What Goenie said. I think (now this is what I believe anyway) that the real reason why Rodney is praised so much is because he's a free spirit. He down to earth and doesn't convey any sort of negativity in anyway. He's welcoming. It just so happens that he created some tricks that a lot of people liked. Tbh, I enjoy rodney as a person more than his skating but I also really enjoy his skating too... If he wasn't the type of person he is, his skating wouldn't hold nearly as much value to anyone and I think that's something rodney mullen understands very well. He's a kindred soul
i think it would be more exciting to just hear about his stories and experiences rather than the same old "how did you come up with x and y" and "tell me about your creative process" questions i wanna hear this guys story. theres a couple good docs and stuff that go into it but id love to see more. huge inspiration.
He’s very likely autistic (there are clear signs but he’s never given a definitive statement. ) Please keep neurotypical judgements on his speech patterns to yourself and show some respect for what he communicates.
"We're not worthy!!!" . Rodney is so full of humility and generosity that he inspires me on a daily basis. What a LEGEND
