It's crazy how the songs you listened to when you where younger can hit you on a different level when age starts catching up to you. This is one of the first songs I learned on the guitar and 15 years later it has spoken to me in a completely different aspect of life...my how the times change.
I remember the good times I had with my friends around the time this came out among many great others none of those people are in my life anymore but I still cherish the memories that what I think about when I hear music like this it helps me remember alot of happier times
Whenever I listen to this song, I cry and think about my dad. My dad has worked his ass of the past years for our family. I'm 15, my sister is 17. In all these years together. Not ONE DAY has my dad called in sick. He is so committed to getting me and my sister through school. If I say thank you he just shrugs it off and says "It's my job" and smiles. He's had good jobs and absolute shit jobs. The love he has for me makes me cry when I say "thank you" and he'll just smile. That smile is volumes.
When I was little my dad would sing this song but he changed the words up a little. He passed away 8 years ago so this song was dedicated to him. "If I could be like Matt. I would give anything. Just to live one day in those shoes." In loving memory of Matthew Littrell....
My dad used to sing this song all the time too... I feel that, he passed away 2 years ago and I’m still heart broken. Rip Dad and Rip Matthew your both heavily missed
I'm 25 years old, and still love 3 doors down. It's my jam for when I'm driving, sitting outside, when I sleep. This song brings back a lot of memories!
This song was the only thing there for me during the darkest times of my life. It is also the same thing I play as my life starts to get better. I am changing my life starting today.
simplyg0rjess I know your comment is 3 years old, but I just lost my husband. My 3 teenage daughters won't have their dad either. I'm heartbroken. I'm so sorry for your loss. 💕

I'm 58 .... yeah , "old" ! I loved my era of music ( a hippy at heart ) , but I love a lot of music .... I'm a Rocker , I'll die a "Rocker" ! because music is my drug ... my SOUL
❤ awwwwh 🥰💜 love this old school song. This song made it far and still played and loved still today and Rocking "2024" Always playing in my playlist. Love,"Three Doors Down. ❤😊
I used to listen to this album over and over again lifting heavy iron and working out with my brother in an old garage with a dirt floor in the middle of summer in east Texas. living on 100 or 200 dollars a week, made from square bailing and building fence. It was the best time in my life.
Every few years there comes a song that changes lives. That can make you cry, inspire you to become a better person, and make you look back at times past and just smile. This is one of those songs.
Same here... but sometimes, you find things to push you through. Music is what helps me push through. I may not make a lot of money, and have nice things, but what I do have is the strength to push through, whether it be hell or high water, we all find our own ways through it and our own ways to cope. Just stay strong man. There is a reason you are here, and you will prevail.
This is such a awesome Song I'm 34 and I Love this Song Believe me it touches Me in a special way I heard it when I met My wife In 2009 and I never stopped listening to it Since

This song really gets to me, I had a very unstable childhood, and even as an adult I never had stability until just the last few years. I've never had a safe home, and a warm bed on a quiet little street. I think of all the times I was homeless, the times I just needed something to hold onto. it makes me so thankful that I have the things I have now. I cry every time I hear this song, because it just gets to me.
This brought back so many great memories, I'm 21 and I remember listening to this song when I was in my car seat getting drove to preschool, the years really fly by.

You went to school, had crushes, and watched the stars on the big screens, just wanting to be a piece of the dream. I know it was just 20 years ago but it seems as if it may have been in another lifetime. The world is different today.
This song makes me think about what I'd do if it was rich. My mom and dad and sister would not have another issue when It comes to money and bills. I'd give them the life they deserve
this song makes me teareyed every time! im happy for what i have and achieved in my life. And the thing is there are people just like in this song who wish for just that smallest thing and still have to struggle threw everyday...my prayers go out to everyone struggeling, everything will work out one way or another. That moment when you've seen pretty much every side of the horrors of humanity and struggle through life because of legit sociopaths and think to yourself...if I could be like that...
Dood. You just went deep. But, damn, you're right. Sure is another way of looking at things. Aaah, if I could be like that and not care.... ....aaah, how comfortable would life be???
I was brought up from 02, but I can promise I prefer this music than to the trash they play now. There's soul, purpose, and reason behind these lyrics, and nothing is gonna replace that. True music isn't on the radio.

Exact same experience herw/

Why is that so hard to get?
Maybe it's just wasn't for us.

It sounds like such a simple thing, but it really isn't...
It isn't.. it's a dream of a many homeless. But we must be thankful grateful for , towards whatever possessions we have.

I'm glad my dad showed me great music while I was growing up... Rip pops😟
This entire album is full of meaning and emotion, and still few know mosts of the songs =/
2024 and still the best song!
Oh man, this song hits me right in the feels. Memories brahs. The early 2000's was such an awesome time to be alive. Oh man. Nostalgia attack.
Always have and will respect this group 100%
Phil Bowmen I agree I was born in 95 and grew up listening to music like this and the shit I hear on the radio now days has not one lick of a meaning
I'm right there with ya, brother
same here. music today is shit
I was brought up from 02, but I can promise I prefer this music than to the trash they play now. There's soul, purpose, and reason behind these lyrics, and nothing is gonna replace that. True music isn't on the radio.
agree
I was born in '01 but grew up on music like this

Ah the good old days. When creating a video like this wasn't considered cheesy or corny.
I work at Scheels and this plays just about every day if not every other!!👍
