What's the persons default disposition/mood? How quick is that someone to anger [or not]? What does day to day generosity [or lack therof] usually manifest as? There is usually somethig missed by people writing about someone based on extensive reading, which is why talking to older people about real events is so awesome: a sense of the times is mainly derived by living it.
I'm reminded of the problem Rush Limbaugh faced for the entirety of his first decade on radio: people wrote reams about him, read each others pieces, and then wrote some more - and a pile of myths and assumptions emerged that bore no resemblance to his radio show whatsoever. A host of journalist types literally gaslit themselves in a pure vacuum while echewing the source material available in real time on hundreds of radio stations... for free.

I heard someone refer to Musk’s upbringing, like bullying at school, and his father berating him for hours afterward, described as abuse. It was so in Britain in my day too. I believe the suppression (or attempted) of attacks and bullying, by father or co pupils is character forming and teaches resilience, survival, and humour. You need to be sanguine when every day is a battle. The attempt to suppress boys savage nature does them no favours, probably disastrous for them and society. When young people are dying from knives and other things, to resist violence when young only teaches subservience and when old enough, the thrill of intimidating and violence when older. Of course, Britain had a homogeneous population back in the sixties and seventies, with no ethnicity or religion encouraging gang support and warfare. But if you can survive in South Africa or modern Britain as a child, whatever your background, you are as resilient as humans can be. When this old dear discusses Elon’s “dead” son, and says that “transitioning” has occurred throughout history, does she imagine those castrations were chosen or compulsory as slaves by predators? And that his ex wife didn’t succumb to North American (I hear Megan Fox has FIVE trans kids) fashion and encourage her effeminate son along a less traditional path in life? Perhaps Musk felt mislead by their contemporaries wives when he describes himself of being infected by the woke mind virus and gave his support originally. The child has expressed outrage that his father “was never present” in his childhood. Like that’s a valid criticism. Men work to provide for their families. Most men are “never present” working without a minute fraction of the success of Elon Musk. We are all familiar with the rebellion of teenagers against parents, but fathers in particular. This spoiled brat who wanted for nothing had to listen to his mother’s complaints about dad’s lack of presence, and who knows what lengths she went to for revenge against her missing (for work or whatever) partner?
