I FUCKING LOVE THIS GEEZER. What a man!
Leigh was amazing in that apartment scene in the film. He helped make the scene terrifying and funny at the same time. Also it was interesting hear about the little improvisions Joaquin which made the scene more personable.
Never expected Leigh as a guest, loved him in joker and on the pod he was a brilliant, hilarious guest!
a friend of mine ran into joaquin one day in manhattan and he just chatted with her for 20 minutes or so. no pretense or anything. very nice guy
Almost everyone in the cast and crew of Joker is in crazy awe of Joaquin Phoenix. And rightly so, what a legend.
The one guy who Joker let live
Legend, he was great in Joker, how he played being horrified, scared and just trying to get out of that apartment after Arthur murdered that dude was very well acted.
Really was. That scene blew me away
@@mikeadams7904 It's a shock as well and shows just how Arthur is actually physically dangerous without a gun or weapon even though he's so malnourished.
@@biohazarduncovered
Any crazy person is dangerous purely because you can’t predict their behavior.
Phoenix is one of the greatest actors of all time..his performances in The Master,You Were Never Really Here & The Joker are absolutely incredible. You can put him alongside any actor in any era and he wouldn’t look out of place
Cardi b's performance in fast and furious 9 is so much better than his entire discography
The Master performance is ridiculously I underrated, great in every single scene maybe more so than Joker.
You Were Never Really here is so great. Rarely mentioned. Joaquin really hasn’t done a film I didn’t like since The Master. Her. Inherent Vice. He Won’t Get Far On Foot. Amazing stuff.
And “Her” as well. One of my favourites
@@RustinChole Hadn't heard of 'Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot'. Put it on my watchlist, thanks!
He’s such a down to earth guy really phenomenal actor aswell
Nice choice of words
@@jaredjones2443 oh wow 🤦♂️ didn’t mean that 😅
@@joewillockthegoat7512 so he is not a down to earth guy?
@@ClassicTor certainly close to the earth
Never expected this guy as a guest. Saw his name and thought "Who?". When I read the description I was hyped and the episode definitely didn't dissapoint. Leigh seems like such a cool guy to go for a pint with. Nice to hear him laugh too after seeing him play a traumatised character in Joker
He is sound as fuck, I literally met him in the local pub, he is a great laugh ended up going to a little after party with him an his mates, top man
It’s done with some other guests too, but naming this man Joker ‘Co-star’ is disrespectful. He has a name.
What an amazing experience to work with and hang out on set with one of the finest actors of our generation. That’s a dream opportunity!
Leigh is definitely my favourite guest in a while. Really funny guy!
Leigh was amazing in the joker!!! he has such an awesome and super unique appeal, want to see what else he has planned for the future
This guy was da man in Joker!!!! He did a bloody good job in the movie, hope he’s in the 2nd one
Besides loving the character Arthur, I loved the Gary character as well. He was always good to Arthur. Which is y Arthur let him leave the apartment alive. 😂👏🏼
I hope Leigh Gill is brought back for the sequel. 💯
amazing episode ❤
The scene in Walk The Line when he rips the sink off the wall was also improvised 😍
Happy hour Christmas jingle hits different look forward to it every year haha
We agree!
This is super fascinating! Leigh also seems like a great dude.
wow what a great guest and he did very well in the movie....tons of love from the US
*”Fuckin’ crazy innit, me on the telly”.*
Joaquin sounds great
What a legend this guy is
This was great
This podcast keeps outdoing itself ❤🎉
Came to watch the video purely to see why his mate JT said his hands look like monster munch, genuinely top 1% happy hour ep
New subscriber,this was great
This dude was great in the movie
Where can we WATCH the full pod ?
I hope he's on the sequel
I remember seeing someone say the punching out scene was improvised amd I was gobsmacked
Really? I laughed so hard at that scene. When Leigh said in this interview that he improvised scaring him I was like no way! That moment when fake scared him had my theater roaring in laughter. The fact Joaquin created two of the funniest moments goes to show you how much he added to the movie.
'yeah and it was season six' - magic 😂
He was a great listen during work.
We’re glad you liked it pal!
Leigh though, super interesting guy. Great clip.
Hope hes in more stuff he was great in joker
Joker is one of my favourite movies ever
It would be nice to see Gary return and join the joker gang :)
I was worried for this guy in the movie lol
Joaquin improvises mostly exactly with his body, rather than trying to get some cool or funny line in. Like in The Master when he goes totally bonkers in the jail, a lot of the physicality of the scene (rage coming out by him essentially hurting himself by banging head/back to the top bunk) wasn't in the PTA script and as I understand they are Very honed scripts. Writer/director can be a totally differend experience than just a director. In hollywood a massive set-piece in a script can be just *A car chase scene* and on to the next scene so when a director writes they write how they see it going.
Especially directors who has very their own style like Tarantino or Coen Brothers want pretty much every line to be just as in the script. Some important scenes even movement. Apparently that's why Jonah Hill had a hard time with both and he had a one scene in a Coen movie. In Django most just needed to be cut out because his was kinda a b-story of Hildi getting from him to Candie so it wasn't needed and the run-time had to be cut down. It's usually when a director is looking a Very Particular vibe of the world. (Altough Pam Grier said that Samuel had a nippa pass and ad-lipped more of them in Jackie Brown 😅 Also the Tucker trunk scene is few of the impros Tarantino have let past him into the tilm since it's so funny). Hill then again had no problem with Scorsese because it was easier to ad-lip.
Anyone feel like jack dosent listen to a word his guests say
Sometimes it does feel like he's just waiting to ask the next question
Yeah came off a bit condescending
“Hundred percent”
A Joe Rogan in the making
Always does the fake laugh where you can tell he doesn’t laugh and couldn’t give a toss what he is saying
'Joker co-star' give him some respect😂
Jack looks like fucking Shergar with those choppers. Fuckin hell 😂
GARY!!!!
He looks like a little version of that guy from TGF
No way was this the guy that played the character in the video for Barz Simpson ?? They better have talked about that!
It's crazy he came from Celebrity Juice to one of the greatest films ever made
Ha, ha, no diff keith on Celebrity Juice, think you were joking, lol.
Greatest films ever made?!?! What the fuck, calm down pal
@@MrCrunchy1001 One of
Buffalo Soldiers is another good movie of his
Seriously. I didn't like the fact that Lady Gaga is going to be in The Sequel, but if they bring Leigh's character back. I might actually see it.. just for him.
He's looks like an awesome dude.
I hate that Lady Gaga is going to be in the sequel since I don't think she's a good actress. But I'm hoping that the film is at least good. Joaquin is the only reason I'd be watching that film despite my dislike of Gaga.
Hope this guy is also in the film.
@@Missjunebugfreak
I think she's a great actress and all around very talented
I dislike Gaga, the only reason why I just can’t be hyped for joker 2
Good to see Taylor Hawkins living it up in the UK.
What a fantastic bloke.
Yo Leigh, hope your well lets catch up soon bro 😎
really wish the guys researched this, a bunch of stuff Leigh talks about is common knowledge
the guys arent internet mole rats like everybody in the comments
0:57 Yeah i wonder why studios changes the names etc on early scripts just to keep their huge expensive properties a secret for as long as they can hmm🤔
What part did he play in the film?
Batman

Anyone know this man from the MF doom tune ?
barz simpson, i thought he looked familair, quite the career.
Has jack got dentures or smthn
Tsss idk but he's got sumthin in that mouth or sumthin
I worked as an extra on Cmon Cmon and he was cool but weird
That must've been cool, but weird in what way?
@@dellsbells100 well Joaquin has always been weird, nothing new, but I have noticed in these recent years he's trolling most of the time, and he's not serious in many things people ask him like the time he said he just lost 15 pounds instead of 50 for Joker because they didn't pay him that much or the time he said he was engaged with his yoga instructor or he didn't want children, all of that was a lie 😂
I've met him

Well done what do you want a blue Peter badge ?
You can’t give a dwarf horse tranquilizers
It's ... fkn Taylor Hawkins ....
Co-star hahahahah
He will be the penguin
Butchering joaquins name is criminal.
As much as Joker was sadly not very good, one thing i gotta say is the performances were top notch
Movies might not be for you pal, it’s a classic I’m afraid
If you don't like Joker you have bad taste in movies.
@@akbarmalik5661 not at all. Went in with very high expectations but ultimately it was just a rehash of Taxi Driver and King Of Comedy but without a lot of the charm and nuance that made those movies work. As i said though the performances were great even if the film was bang average
@@CreedM8 its a mid version of Taxi Driver I’m afraid
I rewatched it recently. Last time I saw it was on release in theatres 2018. I have experience in film studies and I have to kinda agree with James. Joaquin phoenix is amazing, there’s no doubt about that. And I got the feeling if he wasn’t in it it would 100% be a mid tier film. It’s a great movie because it’s just a great showcase of his talent. The film is mediocre, it’s very explicit and in your face and there isn’t much nuance or subtlety to it. It’s spoon feeds the audience to the point where it becomes annoying. It just screams in your face MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES!!! and it becomes tiring. And like James said it’s a story that’s been executed better before. I think social media culture had a huge influence on the film.
He doesn't look like a barrel of laughs. Super serious
Stick to playing ewoks
Stick to being irrelevant
And what will you stick to? Doing absolutely nothing?
What a mug.
Ok Ben🤡
i'd say stick to posting youtube comments but you're not very good at that unfortunately
