      @@502outdoors Absolutely agree. The “Triple Crown” events are sprint races. Every rider has to be 100% on the gas and on the edge of throwing it away. Roczen isn’t willing to race with the intensity needed to win a Triple Crown race (and it shows) in his results. It’s basically “Checkers or Wreckers” to win one of these events.

      @@didickcheeseburger - I agree in this case that it seems that Jett needed to (pardon the pun) cool his Jet's a little bit and be more patient. I believe it probably came out of frustration more than anything. Having gone down twice on starts (purely his own fault) I think his adrenaline probably really kicked in, being frustrated with himself and driven to perform and finish strong. Still, I see the source of his incident is everything you are saying, it was purely on Jett's shoulders, and I think Jett agrees too (based upon his post-race interviews). I think Jett will learn something from this and take it forward. He just gets better all the time.

      @@michaelmartin4366 no he doesn’t it was a simple racing incident. You cannot penalize or put a guy on probation every time they make a mistake. They were both racing hard, and Jett clipped a tough block. That wasn’t his fault, it’s racing. When you’re riding as hard as they are going, stuff like that happens. It’s not fair to blame Jett for something that could have happened to literally any other rider out there. Had this been anybody else we’d all be saying that it was a horrible racing accident, but nobody’s fault. But just because this is the points leader, we want to bring the hammer down on him. The bike caught the tuff block, and shot him to the right, there’s no preparing for that, there’s no reacting to that, once it happened he was just along for the ride.

They can stop putting skill features right out of a 180 degree turn. Combine that with poor between race maintenance, and you have several guys going down coming out of those tight turns including Jett, Malcolm, Roczen, Sexton, Anderson and Barcia. In my opinion, they try to cram too many features into a tiny space. I guess you must find Motocross unwatchable then. Cause it's a much safer and more open track.

And by the way, he barely touched the tuff block while he was still on the ground, that wouldn't change his direction at all. Great reporting first of all. GREAT reporting. You really are incredibly good at putting the package together to break down the facts and share it with all of us. So, thank you for that. In terms of the incident last night, stuff like this happens all the time. It's just way more out front in the public consciousness when it's a young kid who is basically the biggest thing to come along since JS7. And speaking of the great one, Jett reminds me a hell of a lot of a young J Stew when he first came on the scene, thinking he had to get out front from the jump, wanting to just destroy the competition to the point of embarrassing them. In the end, Jett will make it through these growing pains, just like James did and he'll be an amazing champion. He comes from a fantastic family who will keep him pointed in the right direction. Aussie moms and dads don't mess around. They got this. As for Forkner, hopefully he'll be okay. That was a tough lick and anyone but a professional athlete would be lying in a hospital bed with multiple serious injuries. But he IS a pro athlete and I kind of feel like he'll be back sooner rather than later. As for a penalty being handed out. PLEASE! Check out some of the Reed/Stewart battles or even further back to the Bob Hannah days. It's a brutal, violent sport. It just is. Let them race.

    It’s racing, it’s unfortunate that it went down like that, but the spectators are the ones making the split second decisions with their bodies on the line!
    If you look at any champion in this sport, they’ve all inadvertently taken someone out at some point in time!
    Look at the time Stewart landed on Carmichael in the outdoors as an example.
    If he had of pulled off a third place finish from dead last…hero status for sure, plus entire field demoralised and left scratching their heads. Unfortunately for Jett it didn’t go his way that race, and unfortunately Forkner went down just as hard…but a lot of this sport is risk versus reward.

    Personally, I like the triple crown races. I think that it gives more chances for the racers to move up in the points. And it helps to keep the points closer together. It also gives another chance to them if they happen to be wiped out by someone, or a lesser rider. Too many times the guys get wiped out by someone in the first corner, and there's no way that they can catch up. I feel that it helps level the field a bit.

    Honestly I like the triple crown races. I didn’t like them at all the first season or two they had them, but they were starting to grow on me in 2020, and I honestly missed them last year. As for this incident, I see your point about Jett shouldn’t have even been that far back to begin with, and he was pushing way too hard last night, but I still can’t put too much blame on him. Obviously he didn’t mean to clip the tuff block, and take out Forkner. Maybe he can just learn a tad bit more patience moving forward. Hopefully both guys are ok, and can race next week, because they’re both super talented riders, and are very fun to watch when they are 100%. I also think we have gotta stop penalizing every little thing. You don’t want these guys racing scared of getting penalized just because they get a little aggressive. The only thing that I have seen this year, that I thought legitimately needed to be penalized was Friese taking out Craig like he did, and of course the AMA just turned their heads on that one. But Anderson and Barcia were just two lines coming together, and then the thing with Barcia was just good old aggressive racing. But when you send a man flying halfway down the tunnel, that just crosses so many lines, and Friese has had that reputation for years now.

    I agree with everything said here, except the case of Anderson, again. That was a pretty shitty move on Stewart. Malcom was understandably upset about that one, again. What is it with Anderson this year? .. seriously. Every single race the same thing. I agree with Marmaleg, would like to see people like Anderson race a little more cleanly. Anderson basically, once again, T-boned Stewart. There was no way Anderson could have missed hitting Stewart in the manner than he entered that turn, and he knows it.

    • @gregNFL
      @gregNFL Před 2 lety +2

      I saw parallel bikes and Anderson's wheel was closer to the next corner than Mook's. Anderson's bike was between the next turn and Mookie's bike. That's a block. The only way Malcolm could have gotten to the next turn ahead of Anderson at that point (or out of the corner ahead of Anderson) was to go around him on the outside, wait for Anderson to get out of the way and then to go under him or go through him. Malcolm didn't know JA was there. That's on him. You can see Malcolm twitch the bars when he realizes he's turning down into JA. He tries to correct for a split millisecond but can't. (Or chooses otherwise.) Malcolm's front tire hits JA's bike on the brake side cases so there's no T Bone on JA's part. By definition. A lot of riders took the same line Mookie did. No matter, a block is a block. There was almost a T Bone on Mook in M3 at the same place but Sexton hit the brakes (because he was too late for a block pass) and Mookie escaped. My 2 cents. 🍻

      @@gregNFL Your assessment is 100% correct. That is exactly what happened. Stewart could (and should) have stayed higher as soon as he noticed Andersen coming, which should have been sooner than he did. Track Awareness. His brother didn't have it, and it seems he doesn't either. I do think that they should review the push though, unnecessary and definitely impeded Andersen's ability to get back on his bike. I enjoy watching Jett but I hate seeing that happen to Forkner. Injuries riddle the kids career, Jett was riding over his head clearly and he took out a top 3 competitor for the title. That's a big deal, supercross is a young man's game. We can all agree on that and although the previous years weren't Jetts fault this one was. This comes down to maturity, the kids got talent no doubt and I enjoy watching him just as much as any other rider out there but let's be serious... hes got some growing to do and Forkner would probably get the championship this year because the kid is riding over his ability and he is making mistakes. Forkner is a solid rider and he is consistent. The kid isnt as disappointed as Forkner I can guarantee that and he would probably learn more from his mistakes if he was the one who was too hurt to finish the race because it was on him all day. He was squirrely in the whoops and barely saved it and the very next turn he pulls the biggest rookie move I've ever seen from a pro and takes out a championship contender
