I'd be curious to hear this... To me this is one of the most unique performance for a rock singer... but as for me, I'm a bass !! Seriously, what is fantastic, is that he doesn't scream like almost all metal singers on such high notes. It's clear, it's round, deep... controlled. I can only imagine Damian Wilson (solo artist, Threshold, Ayreon & Star One, etc.) singing this - in his own way.
Many, and I really mean many, metal and rock vocalists have the most amazing vocal cords that can be found in the music industry. Sadly with metal it is a scream fest mostly due to the power within the instrumentation that drives these vocalists to sing with strong yet controlled voices but the acoustic value to their voices are lost. This song proves it through and through. What a voice! Imagine he sings ballads. It would be mesmerizing and sublime. I know he did it slightly with Unisonic as well as Avantasia but can you imagine he does a solo project with a full acoustic background.
