- Last month was the hottest June ever measured - breaking last year's global record. And as heatwaves continue into July, people in many countries are feeling the effects.
Doctors warn that extreme heat can be fatal.
Heat causes more deaths worldwide than any other weather-related factor. And due to climate change, more and more people all over the globe are being regularly exposed to sustained high temperatures. That has both physical and mental effects.

Stop burning fossil fuel : Let’s talk about climate justice
It's happening now. The future that some people still won't believe in is already here.
Heat goes after vulnerable people first
There are many studies that link heat and crime
There’s a simpler explanation for why crime levels rise in the heat: more opportunity. During winter, fewer people are outside, fewer events occur, and daylight is shorter. Crime tends to be lower when people spend more time at home and interact less. In summer, people are out and about more, leading to more interactions and a higher probability of crime
Not to mention people will leave windows and doors open for ventilation... that's just asking for it.
Exactly. That's why we've never seen an Eskimo gangster
The phenomenon of more violence is triangulated with the biological effects of heat and comparing incidents on hot days and cooler days.
This almost sounds…
this is coldest summer you will ever have
There won't be any colder summers like this one.
Yep. Basic, very well understood physics. Add carbon to an atmosphere and that atmosphere heats up. And we are. Burning a pot of oil, coal and gas.
The first time I heard that it was mind bending, I remember and say this every opportunity I have when a climate denier tells me paying helps.
@@freeheeler09teaching your kids Math science and physics it explains everything in our natural world, Facts are for every degree warmer the atmosphere holds 7% more moisture causing destructive atmospheric rivers and stronger storms.
Book of Enoch, Chapter 4
And again, observe ye the days of summer how the sun is above the earth over against it. And you seek shade and shelter by reason of the heat of the sun, and the earth also burns with growing heat, and so you cannot tread on the earth, or on a rock by reason of its heat.
Not really. Although there is a MUCH stronger link between immigration and crime.
'its not the fire that kills
It's the heat'
Is there a link between economic growth and climate? Can you grow crops in a desert?
I love cool weather, but I don't go nuts in the summer. I just don't enjoy hot weather, at all. Bring on autumn breezes 😊 🍁
I am definitely too uncomfortable to go nuts when it's hot, but I have noticed the short temper. And the anxiety. Big time anxiety. And little sleep. And brain slow as mollasses. One reason I get frustrated is because I can't think straight. Everything takes longer. I spend more time fixing mistakes than getting anything useful done. I hate hot weather.
DV increases - given that its 90%+ men perpetrating , women are in even more danger
Riots are known to be more ommon in heat waves. Young men with nothing to do but hang around outside & now they have smartphones to coordinate flashmobs. It's not just crime like theft.
This doesn't quite have anything to do with heat (though kind of), but my alma matter had a big celebration in the spring, where unfortunately, rioting became a tradition. The university pushed the event two weeks earlier in the season. We had to do the parade wearing our parkas, but the rioting issue was solved. No-one outside to watch the parade.
Short answer is yes and that's when the Predator goes hunting.
There's winter depression that sometimes could make you even cry, all alone at night. But there's summer anxiety that could make you go bonkers. Not so much depressed as bonkers, nuts, mad, crazy. All year round spring is only in paradise, unfortunately.
Last week we were having 16 degrees Celsius. Now we finally have a few warm days and still none without rain. It rained since the beginning of this year. Greetings from Central Europe.
yesterday. at 22:00 +30C :)
it's nice with AC.
Chicago already established that there's a link
You will remember this as the coolest June for the rest of your life

Older people in power really dont care about you !
They have no idea what to do
They are stuck in the past
Until people learn to prioritise the climate over self-interest....
danke.
Does anyone remember that B movie about crime linked to plus 92degrees temperatures?
Or course that link is there. Haven't you seen Predator 2?
Genuinely though, we are so screwed.
The way we have been treating the earth 🌎 is know catching up on us. Few of our scientific experts would admit to this fact!...We have known for a long time what the adverse effects of heat will do to the human body. We always get concerned when it "might" be too late!
Wisdom will come when we remember who gave us the perfect blueprint and roadmap...we (72 nations) have already given our tacit approval that a particular subject reigns and rules supreme over all. We gave Him the proverbial gold medal plus much, much more.
The irony is that the subject is the 'world's most decorated statesman in history' (ref: Ethiopia Shall Stretch Forth Her Hands Unto God - Gregory Copley).
I'm just struggling on 36° now...just checking Kuwait... I'm lucky now.
I remember as a kid in the 90s even in early 2000 we switched on the AC just a few days a year. so much so we ended actually tacking it off.
in the last days we had even at night time temps at 30C at night, in a capital in eastern Europe and we live in some of the most densely "forested" part of the city.
The "city center"/ "old town" is just horrid is just like the middle east every breeze brings hot air and dust.
I like it. if covid did not take enough of us to change anything to good maybe the heat will.
😢 very hot
Weather
simply put: yes.
Ireland here, wettest june ever
Not relevant for the world. You are too much to the north!!!!! Plus all those clouds and rain caused by the gulf jet stream.
So who is in the firing line
Why are you singling out men. I thought men and women are equal. Have you not done the research on how does heat impact on the cranky behaviour of women during periods.
Typo: Is now catching up..
Humans best temperatures to live in are about 8-32 degrees Celsius in my humble opinion 🧐
The night stalker struck in the extremely hot summer nights of California.

🐵DAS RAYSIS!!!
It was the coolest June I've experienced in Spain in 13 years of living here. And half way through July, it's the coolest summer, we've had in years!!
The world doesn't consist of only Spain
Same in Southern Germany, it was in the 50's, we had to heat.
Is this an AI voice? Or did he have a stroke??
Better yet , Is there a relationship between cold weather and racism, xenophobia and arrogance? 🤔 💬
No. The American South is warmer than the North, yet the KKK has/had more power there.
Yes there is a link.
Just ask the People Living in Chicago
For decades.
Arrr yes the mythical city of Chicago
I have heard stories about this place called Chicago from a previous girlfriend who herald from that City
Apparently it has a versatile level of crime and tornados of sort
We should also ask people from Paris, London, Milan, Barcelona, Rome, Madrid, Antwerp, Amsterdam😁
Or Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana.

Move to Wyoming or Montana. 😎👍
Great we don't have to worry about any of that here!
In UK we probably got the coldest July in history, I'm expecting snow any days now 🌨️⛄😂
Climate change makes everything more irregular. More floods and drought and weather extremes. It might actually get colder in some locations especially if the AMOC ocean currents start to shut down. Study math science and physics explains everything in our natural world. Disaster Capitalism by the billionaires to grab more resources for their gain while also being the largest carbon emitters.
Strange, isn't it? I'm in Scotland and it's been a very decent summer so far. We've had plenty of warm to hot days, rain mostly at night. A few days have been chilly, but nothing out of the ordinary (compared to a normal year). O really, here it has been much warmer than it should be - yet we have friends in the south who have seen nothing but rain and have put their heating on.
@@Debbie-henri a beautiful weather in Scotland that's just heaven!
You got the scenery and you say that you got the weather now.
Damn I'm gonna tell my wife and we will come up 😂
@@berserkirclaws107 I hope that the scenery doesn’t get destroyed after a few years of „nice weather“.
Crime rises due to eating ice creams!
I think there is a link between December and crime, especially because its the time of the year when nights get longer
The southern hemisphere exists
And thieves know that lots of houses with unwrapped Christmas presents, unused and boxed, which can be sold on.
People need to harden up, signed from Australia. 30 is nothing
Ok boomer
Whit, you actually like the fires, droughts and declining agricultural production Oz has been seeing in recent years? Really?
welcome to Finland for vacation 🇫🇮 the climate here is mild in the summer, the thermometer reads +23
Or move to uk.u will never see damn sun again in ur life
No problem! Just come to Denmark. It has been one of the worst summer in long time.
Rain a lot of the time , night temperatures down to between 10 to 12° Cool and I think I’ve been able to go to the beach maybe four or five times this year. Otherwise 20 to 22°C. ….
So if you want to cool down, just go to Denmark with the Scandinavian countries. ☔️
The MAIN problem is EXACTLY that THE BIGGEST poluters of the world are all located north so they don't even care about the climate change. They probably cheer for the climate change!
Not to sound racist...but yes, the brain tends to act dumb in hotter regions
😂 dumbest thing I ever heard 🤭 what's the link between regional temperature and racism?
Not all over the Globe, Australia had the coldest June in decades.
It's Winter in Australia
In the summer time when the women are fine
You can get right up and touch the sky
In the summer time
I got women i got women on my mind
😂😂😂
Funny 😂 what's that got to do with crimes?
Oh please! The midwest of the US is not experiencing this weather pattern same as many other places around the 🌎.
Seriously? The Midwest just had a massive heatwave in June.
The US Midwest has seen floods, tornadoes and a crazy heatwave this year!
Da!
@@freeheeler09 I live here in tornado alley! We always have tornadoes and floods. 1993 in Des Moines was unprecedented. Nothing new!
Summer in 1921 40°C or summer in '43
Check 1539 and 1540 no water, rivers dry.
You're not very smart, are you?
Remember when nahtzi Germany bowed to the red army?

The anchor reminds me of Tucker Carlson.
You should thank American rocket games for making too many holes in your atmosphere
And now we're blaming the weather 😂
Why is it "blaming"?
@@lesliespeaker668 blaming for the rise of crimes
I keep wondering where idiocracy will lead us
@@xena2559 Ok, but why is that blaming? It's a plausible explanation. I don't understand what you're upset about.
@@lesliespeaker668 OK imagine someone hurt you in a crime. In the court, the criminal might say - oh I hurt him/ her because that day was hot and it's not my fault I felt bad. So I'm asking where's self control? Do I understand that a human can turn into a beast because it's hot and then be excused? That's utter idiocracy.
@@xena2559 The defendant can say whatever they want in court, but not everything they say is going to help their case. I think you are overthinking this.
It is well good enough to reduce waste and use less energy to save money for higher temperatures. No one can solve global warming and climate change ever, which is just a natural thing.
Really? I live in Southern Germany, and it was the coldest June, it was in the 50's and rainy almost every day, we had to turn the heaters on, so, things are not normal, sure, but it's more "change" than "warming"
Did you know? There's an entire world outside of Southern Germany!
Global temperature is an average measurement. If it's cold in one place then it is even hotter somewhere else. Germany will get it's turn at extreme heat. The instability of the jet stream guarantees it.
By the way Southern Germany had some of the worst floods in history. Six people died in the floods. In the past 12 months there has never been so much rainfall ever recorded in Germany. And this is just the beginning. Just a little detail you conveniently missed I guess.
What are you going on about? I'm not denying anything, I was just commenting that normally we are very hot in summer, and we are having records lows...I said right in my comment "things are not normal", I also mentioned the rain Leslie. So, what's your point?
@@GoddessStone My point is that it's getting warmer globally. And that's why it rains more. You know, when you heat up water it evaporates? And it MUST condensate some other places? It's not a "change", it's all because of warming.
The hotter the country, the crazier the population
Yeah 😂 crazy people should avoid hot countries
Ther is a link between immigration and crime.
There's a link between poverty and crime
Politicians find a way to excuse their bad handling of the economic by blaming bad weather. No wonder they are so serious about climate change.
If there is more immigration during hot weather, then yes.
If there are more youtube comments like yours, then also yes
Try living through menopause..... this is nothing compared to hot flushes and night sweats. STOP BLAMING THE WEATHER
What if the globe is living through menopause?
