I remember talking to Janis and Polly and their mom after a concert ... they were so very nice and down to earth... I ask Janis and Polly the months of their birthdays not the year...and they wasn’t even offended ..but told me what months they were born ...and I told Janis how valuable she was because of her beautiful high voice... and she said thank you... most people don’t notice that or compliment her about it... she was so nice... I’ll never forget how kind they were... my precious mom was with me that night too.
I sure miss the Lewis Family. As a kid in the 80’s, my grandparents took me to two bluegrass festivals every year in June (McAlister, OK) and in August (Hugo, OK) and the highlight of those trips for me were seeing The Lewis Family at both festivals. I’d watch for their bus to pull in amongst the RV’s and instantly get excited because I knew they’d be hitting the stage soon. One by one the family members were taken from us, Wallace, Mom, Pop, Miggie, and Polly. I miss Polly’s beautiful Alto voice, and loved hearing her thick Georgia accent when she MC their set, and her one of a kind smile. Thankfully she passed her beautiful voice and smile to her daughter Sheri Easter. Thanks for posting this video. It brings back wonderful memories.
I grew up listening to The Lewis Family singing. My Grandpa and Granny loved y'all. We listening to y'all all the time. ❤
