      It'll come one day for him, he's a much better rider this year. Woods wouldn't catch him for a minute this year but Tadej is something else.

      Well, it was mostly his team mate Kelderman who was in the wind. That guy was super and worked very hard for Jorgensen.

    A generational talent, the emerging Eddy Merckx of this era, beat Jorgenson. It was mesmerizing watching Pogacar come from three minutes down on a mountain stage, overhaul the breakaway riders, and beat Jorgensen for the stage win.

    For some season JV tried their best to destroy Pogacar and they did ... With Jonas Roglic and Wout and attacked him till he cracked. Hats off to Pogacar for taking on the challenge...

    His problem was that Pogi had a personal thing with Visma from last year and also when Pogi lost to Jonas a few dah ago... He looked pissed... In a Pogi king of way :-)

      maybe. i think Pogi just likes to attack and win regardless. he did similar at giro. when/where did he say he is pissed at visma? they didn't do anything to piss him off ...last year he said to his ds: "i am done, i am dead".

      Pogi had to take more time from Jonas today, anything can happen the last 2 stages. It’s just racing. Won’t surprise me to see Pogi win tomorrow and the TT as well

    Jonas gave up trying for the win to help him and Tadej was just like:
    No.
    They're running up against a bulldozer right now. Tadej is doing everything perfectly. He's saving all of his energy to the very end and these guys are already gassed when he gets to them. He's perfected his craft this year.

      This. Tadej is crushing these climbs partly because his team is playing it PERFECTLY. He's essentially getting to a few k's to the end and has mega rested legs. So anyone out front grinding is going to get absolutely eaten by him right now.

    VL didn't get the memo. Tadej has been hinting that he targeted this stage. He has been saying it in the past 2 days and this am. He should go for breakaway tomorrow! Not today.

    Tadej got criticised for not letting his enemy win? Why should he let jorgensen win and get a major morale boost. The criticism make zero sense.

    Jorg will win a GT someday, a phenomenal year. No shame in losing to Pogi by 20 seconds in the last km. Jorg is Visma’s rising star. Hopefully he stays healthy and takes another big step next season. Amazing ride today!

      second is the first looser, when you are this close, you want/need to win. Nobody rembers the second. People will remember this being a strongman show of pogi and the double year, not the year jorgenson came in second at this stage

    Fantastic performance by MJ today given that he and Wilco dragged the whole breakaway up the road. Bravo! Carapaz was sandbagging except to jump up to claim KOM points. It was amazing to see that MJ could attack after that effort.

    Jorgensen is just another one that Tadej goes ahead of. (politely saying) I can see why riders are disappointed by not being able to beat him when he's at this level. But don't forget Tadej has been beaten. Jorgensen could be better if he had a team riding for him. There's a few riders that could win Grand Tours if they had a team working for them.

      If they played their cards right. Jonas would have lose a couple of seconds. Imagine, you have 2 satellite riders on the front. UAE pulling the peloton ripping the other riders. If he didn't attacked and let Carapaz and Yates battle for the stage, Jonas could have 2 riders to pull him. That's Wilco and Matteo. So the moment Tadej attacked and 2 riders followed, Tadej could've outnumbered. You have Landa pulling Remco while Wilco and Matteo waiting for Jonas.

Pogi stands up, makes a gap and its over, no one is catching him, even if Jonas has whole visma train to pull him up the climb he simlpy doesnt have the legs anymore to hang in there with Tadej. Hell he looked dead after following remco/landa pace.

    When Visma had Tadej on the ropes the last two years with their super strong team, not once did I hear UAE or Tadej with all this sadness.

      Im more of the side of the discussion of “ it is much more sportmanship to give it everything if you still have it than leaving a win for others if you could beat them”, if you are stronger it should be seen as a sign of respect that you are losing to a guy who is giving is all even if he doesnt need to

    Tadej is my favorite racer, love him. That said, it would’ve been wise to sit on Matteo’s wheel to the finish line. Still would’ve put time in on JV and RE, but won a lot of goodwill in the peloton.

      nah its a race and that is the rival team - you don't give away anything. Tadej is also beating/setting records so its more than just this race. He doesn't need to make friends in the Peloton - he has his teammates! Love him!

      nah. as much as i like mateo that is not correct thing to do. this is professional cycling not frendship league. mateo should have spent a month on this climb the way uae did. but i wanna know what tadej is doing to make up 4:20 on bottom of the climb that other paid grown men are not.

      If it was his own teammate, he would have, and maybe even if it was a team other than Visma. After how Visma isolated and worked Tadej over in 2022 and 2023, they should expect no quarter. Also, there is more racing and accidents happen. Would it be wise to give away time, by slowing down and handing the win to the 2nd place rider's team?

      You don't give away anything especially to the rival team - Tadej is also out there breaking and setting records - I would never tell someone not to be the best they can be to satisfy others. Not to mention all these comments in regard to that make me think of Eddie Merchx and how he was actually asked not to participate in the tour to give someone else a chance
