Just to answer a FAQ - yes, Budget Bike Battle 5 is happening, but it's pretty tricky to do anything at the moment when things are shut and we can't travel. Thanks. Bye.
Telefonica gsxr vs champions edition R6 please
Back at your best boys just hooning around on bikes that aren't unattainable to 90% of your audience and having a scream doing it
as much as I love the looks of the ZX7R I can't agree that Kawasaki haven't made anything as good looking since, ZX10R C2 is a really good looking bike which is part of the reason I've had 3. 😃
Widespread shut downs like this are going to bury the UK.
Maybe you should film the whole series before releasing the first episode
This was lovely. For 30 minutes I'd forgotten about all this Covid bollocks.
@Bunnyshooter 223I escaped 'the matrix' some years ago, so to speak. This whole Covid farce is just a front for a far more sinister agenda.
@@applecorp Put the lid back on the conspiracy jar will ya? jfc

Never clicked a link so fast in my life.
LOL the struggle is real.
Ditto
I clicked the link once I logged off from work at home. Wow I needed this- thank-you!
Brilliant to be back 👍👍
if you're talking about a Non Porn related Link, Yes. Me too.
Those tyres are almost "period correct".
LMFAO
Classic haha
There is nothing better than seeing someone ride an older clapped out bike and having just as much fun as the top guys in the group with all their absolutely top of the line kit.
Just bought myself a mint condition 750 srad off eBay for £1280 that included new tyres, service, new brake disks and new chains and sprockets. And after taking it out I couldn't be happier !
What year is your srad I have a 1996
My mate back in the day put a zx9r lump in his 7R without much fettling. I think it was quite a common mod in the mid 00’s
In the US an Endurance team used a YZF 750 chassis and put a 1000 engine in it. If you put the FZR 600 engine in the FZR 400 chassis it was exciting to ride.
'' I just need to reduce the weight '' on route through McDonald's drive through 🤣🤣
Budget bike battle 2-stroke edition next ?
Amy! Cancel all my appointments today... _The boys are back_
My Team Ninja 44Teeth hoodie is back in fashion, yes!!
I'd much rather watch you riding older bikes. I'd bet it's a very small minority of viewers who're in a position to be buying new superbikes.
exactly, old krotch rockets have so much character too, i wanna get a mid 90s one eventually
@@nickn7939 I have 92 zxr 400 :D
Personally I'm not a huge fan of their look. I can appreciate them all the same, ive rode them/owned them. I just prefer the newer looks
@@ddon1797 I like the seeing the new bikes too though, would love a go on a new S1000RR. Or the Daytona Moto 2 looks fun. Even the RS 660 on some B roads
I’ve owned two 7s, 07 zx6r now 012 fireblade all good old bikes
"We don't really know what to do with them"
Well, here's a smart and safe idea: weld them together and make the first ever side-by-side tandem bikes
That's already happening, just not with these duchesses
Ive got a set of brand new 1000 titanium headers pretty sure they are from a k5 free of charge
Since you're spending more money on them call it the bigger budget bike battle
On the Zx7r you need to align the choke up with the line in the plastic (from the molding) for the perfect spot to start from cold. Works like a charm.
You seem to be having more fun on these two bikes than most of the expensive bikes you've ridden in the past. Laughing as i watch this.
They always say this but always go back to shiny 30k steeds
It's interesting isn't it? I think it's a little like how most 90's early 2000's cars are going up in price. A lot seems to do with them being 'drivers' cars. Responsive, simple and having character. I think it's the same with bikes. The point where you don't actually know how much input you're having whilst driving due to over powere'd/Over tech'd vehicles removes some of that...fun maybe?
@@lt1eg6 I've had my Alfa 156 SW from new in 2000. I hope it never dies (though it probably will one day. It's got 270k kms on it). I love it. It has no Bluetooth, no USB, analogue clocks and a CD player. I can understand it, it's not like driving a computer. Why would I want another car? It's not very fast, the mpg is fairly rubbish, but hey. It has style!
Because there is direct reward for your input, and it's not making up extra for you.. more satisfying
I see Jason learned nothing after his visit to the bike lawyer XD
Time to lawyer up!
it clearly wasn't him, it was his stunt double. It is just a costume and voiceover if jury asks. Professional driver on closed road, do not attempt to recreate.
They were in Mexico 🇲🇽
I absolutely love how, instead of telling us this information while sitting in a chair in front of the camera (which would be acceptable, nonetheless), you do so while riding these glorious machines from BBB. Just riding around and delivering the information we need simultaneously. It is so easily overlooked but this is one of the many reasons why you are the only 2-wheel content I consume. and, well, if other content providers do the same, I'll never know because it's 44T all day for me.
Uploading a 44T vid on a monday night makes the shittest day of the week much more bearable! Cheers 👍
You should rename this series to "Broken Bike Battle".
I loved this series make want to go an do it need more of these bbb
OK, I'm in. Nice to see them back! I have a 1998 Honda VFR800 Interceptor that I love ridding which 'actually' feels MUCH more "refined" than my 2006 FJR1300 'sport-touring' bike (yes, I know, I have "old bikes"). Bought the VFR800 8 years ago for $2300, put $1600 in suspension up-grades (CBR929 rear shock, cartridge fork emulators, Heli bars for better riding position). It is truly a fun bike to ride on the road (no track time)!
Really guys, do a bang-up job. Not expensive, but "WELL DONE", REFINED,! Modern, Retro, Dyno for best performance, and "enjoy"! ... "NO HACK JOBS!!" Make them worth the time, effort, and fun that they should be and are!
Please restore those. The current state just makes me depressed.
Why they wouldn't at least pull out the carburetors and clean them thoroughly is beyond me. I like these guys but their mechanical ineptitude just boggles my mind, haven't they learnt anything over the years?!
Well they are running fine and look decent why don't you haters shut up😂😂😂😂😂
@@petejay75 someone else cleaned the carbs during the Edit lol. I need to do the carbs on my 9. Feel free to call round and give me a hand. Royal pain to do.
👍
@Brian Stafford yip they do not make them like that anymore. Even the zx7 what a beautiful bike
HELL YEAH !
Just what we need on a Monday
Had my 7r from new. Literally done everything on it and it’s still going strong 21 years later. She’s big, fat and slow but what a joy to ride! Great video chaps! 👊👊
Jealous...
this makes me incredibly happy. i’m a young (20) bike enthusiast so these are somewhere between myths and legends for me but just seeing you guys so geeked up happy about them makes me so excited.
Darn, now I have to rewatch the BBB, this is so nostalgic.
Yes boys, we making it to Africa this time
The 7R is still the best looking superbike I don't care what anyone says it's iconic.
Just sold my 98. Already hate myself
@@HAMMER8181 ah mate get another while they are still cheap 👍
Beautiful 😘
My ZXR 750 H1 with hoover pipes begs to differ, but it is cigarette paper close.
Childhood dream bike. Used to pop into my local dealer weekly as a teen just to drool at it even tho it was totally out of my league
The way you two giggle every time you blast off up the road on these, basically sums up the joy and appeal of bikes. Can't wait to watch more. Keep up the excellent work.
My 2002 zx6t sat for more than 10 years and i was happy to get it working again. Carbs rebuilt, new fuel filter, gas tank cleaned, new tires, new blinkers,...it is working sweet still. I first fell in love with motorcycles because of the late 90s, early 2000 bikes.
I had the Chris Walker race rep 98 gsxr, it’s one bike that I never should of got rid of,
Great fun 🏍👍
Why don't you guys organize a meeting, with "old" superbikes like yours, I think that would be a fun thing to do
This would be amazing!
Great idea
@@aeror115 I’ve got a 1993 ZZR600, can I join 😍
(Even though it’s not an actual supersport)
@@jeffreyt02 Since John Reynolds won the British Supersport Championship in 1990 on a ZZR 600, I reckon you'd be there on merit 😉
I've missed these bikes 😭 honestly, every time I lose my love for motorcycles- especially over this pandemic- you guys always light the fire back in my heart
I bought my '98 Pan European as a Winter runabout and am now seriously considering selling my Africa Twin as I never seem to use it anymore! The Pan is now my go to bike of choice. A little TLC is all these bikes need. Love them and they'll love you back. The only modification I've done is heated grips. Rest is just as it was 24 years ago! And when you change the tyres, boy do you notice the road feel immediately change!! So connected. Just brilliant. Love those carbs.
The fun you are having on these two bikes is exactly the reason I love my gsxr750 k3 👍👍
Gotta be honest that I paused the video at 1:30 already to see if there were any budget srad 750’s for sale. Found one, now I’m doubting if I should buy it haha.
Finished the video now, I think I definitely should..
Whats the worst that could happen! .....
@@crc0889 its been fixed by 10 ill give it a bash machanics 😂
I'm so thrilled that you're thinking of bringing these beauties back to their former glory. I also confess that I've played the video several more times just to listen to the music those classic thoroughbreds make.
Preaching to the converted lads. In the last year or so I have rebuilt a 95 vfr750, an 02 firestorm and am currently rebuilding a 94 cbr6. Got a 91 cbr6 waiting in the wings. These old bikes are great to ride and really satisfying to work on. So much to be had for naff all cash
still in love with the sound of a carb'ed Ninja. That's why my '01 ZX9 dies with me. And i can't recall exactly but as far as "boring" those bikes out, I do think the ZX7 accepts the zx9 engine. :D
Love mah ZXR250 Ninja... Sounds like you are flying everywhere and going the speedlimit.
@@wobblysauce track days man....track days
Same for me, my e2 zx9r is not going anywhere!!!
@@myz06rocks Yep, I have gone faster than the 180km/h indicated.
After seeing the recent (different channel) video of a (iirc) 2005 K5 GSXR keeping up with the 2020 Pani I'm super curious to see how these two historical lovelies will do.
@Bunnyshooter 223 Not really. They didn't feel confident pushing the expensive bikes to the limit, same thing with Chris and his HP4 RACE. He sets better lap times with his RSV4.
@@Nerezza1 I agree that familiarity is very important... even so - I still expected to see the newer bike have more of
an advantage.
@@kuhndj67 I think it's less about familiarity and more about the fact that the cost of crashing is a lot higher.
@@Nerezza1 buy over 3 seconds... the fear is real!
@@Nerezza1 Makes sense... so I guess that makes the result valid but for different reasons (how many of us can really afford to wad up a $30k usd bike... I know I can't). The bike you can afford to crash is maybe the better track bike for "the rest of us" who aren't made of money.
Now I am rewatching the BBB playlist. Timeless content. Keep up the good work lads, looking forward to seeing what mods you do.
I just finished restoring my '95 ZX-7 to its full glory this past summer. It gets more compliments than a new bike.
This is just what the doctor ordered! Thanks boyz!
Thanks guys - I feel that these new mods - self drive etc. the smart motorways and this new pay per mile bollocks - all miss the point of being alive...freedom to ride allows me to make sense of life really...
This was my favorite series you guys ever did.
Legendary!
Brilliant to see a new video! Been lockdown binge watching all the bbb's. Can't wait for the next update!
Dude that zx7 is so freaking cool id hang on to that bike after the battle!
Dream bike when new back in 1996 but I couldn’t get insurance for it so I couldn’t buy it...now I own a 2019 Tuono. I’d love to have a mint ZX7, back in the day Scott Russell was the man on that thing.
H2r Kawasaki maybe got the fastest title..but for me (no offense) it looked and felt horrible.it would be a big blessing if they put the engine in these zx7 AND make it brand-new....
ive an idea for BBB5, triumph speed triples one black and one red. MI2 style
I bought a ‘97 ZX-7R after watching the series, as I had already been already itching to get a second one by then and relive my long gone youth. It’s the same year and color as my original, red with purple wheels and tail. I put back the original silencer though, the Yoshimura RS3 is a bit too loud for my taste. The modifications so far are fully adjustable Hyperpro shock (with a purple spring no less) forks upgraded by HK using Andreani internals, (purple!) Samco radiator hoses, adjustable clip-ons from Probrake (for a little bit more comfort for my old bones) and a hugger. Next for the winter is Brembo radial RCS master cylinders for front brakes and clutch, as well as a spare upper fairing which I’ll try to cut a little bit to adjust the clip-ons a a bit more to make it feel better at lower speeds. I know I’m out of my damn mind, but I love this bike, so I’ve no problem spending money on it...
The budget bike battle series you 2 do is the absolute bollocks!! Keep them up
Ahhh cheers for assisting my lockdown misery with an upload, much love
Big love Mikey
Good to see Al has taken heed about not wheeling after speaking to the solicitor guy!!
It's like seeing your lost puppy return....
Also, amazing idea getting the Suzuki and Kawaski (modern) in on the megatest in a roundabout fashion...Really smart to compare them to how far they've come in reference to themselves rather than comparing them to their contemporaries given the cost and foregone conclusion of the results...
Just enjoying a g&t and this drops. Thanks boys. Love it. 😍
I cant understand someone being into bikes and fun, and gave that a thumbs down.
Its the 15 Honda Shadow forum guys,,,,
@@paulhewson4600 My mate had one of those and my puny RM125 smoked it. His face was how i imagine the dislikers. 😔
i gave em a thumbs down cuz they were bloody annoying

The next BBB should be a three-way. Only right thing to do.
What would you get to go with these 2 though?
this! the new chap would wreck these old guys.
The next BBB will be a 3-way, but this ain't a traditional BBB
Who doesn't love some threeway action?
Perfect
@@FortyFourTeeth You mean, there won't be any gay jokes? :-) Finally....
I'm really looking forward to this series. There is so much satisfaction in fixing and improving these era bikes, because the mods are obtainable, can be installed with spanners, and have immediate, real world noticeable and usable effects. Even if the end result is still no where near as fast as a stock 2020 bike, I'd take the modded analog bike 100% of the time
That was a brilliant video. It was real content two mates clowning around. Laughing all the way through just what everyone needs
ZX7R one of my fav WSBK bikes back in the 90's, and still looks great now.
That's got rid of the Monday blues ! As a SRAD owner myself I'll be watching the K5 headers mod with interest but, I've heard they won't fit without modification?
They fit straight on, but you'll need to make a link pipe. Next video 🤪
44Teeth Ok brilliant I'm assuming a Yoshi TRC slip on off a k5 which comes with a link pipe should do the trick with a bit of fettling?
Yesssssss, they're back! Loved the original BBB and the ole ZX-7R is just one of my all time favorites, with all it's fatness and weirdness. SO glad you guys got them back and are sprucing them up!
Full pelt nostalgia, I love it! Can't wait to see the mods and comparison
They even sound like real bikes. Every time I get on my 1995 zx9r kawasaki it just feels better and more fun than the new gen's.
Who’s taken the S21’s off the SRAD and fitted those ancient BT014’s 🙈
Great stuff as ever. Got a life-caused break from biking for a few years - your excellent channel helps scratch the itch :)
Watching this channel I sometimes get the feeling i'm missing out. All these brand new 200hp superbikes and trackdays in Spain i'll never be able to afford. It's great to see you guys having fun on these old girls and showing that's not all about the latest and greatest. Great content as usual!
Spot on comment 😎😎
If I had that ZX7R I'd stick a 9R engine in it, been done many time's, and gives 20bhp and more Torque, and should not cost the earth to do...
Superb engine. I had a ZX9R and it was a brilliant bike. Also, mine was 145 at the crank, so should be more than a 20 hp gain!
Yes it is a good swap i cant
Recall wether it was the b model or newer that was a direct swap or not but definitely a worth while upgrade 👍
Back in 1991 we swapped the GSX~R 750cc engine with the 1100c, it was great but you had to take the 40mm carbs off the 750 and replace the the 36mm on the other
2004 zx10r engine I’ve seen one for sale
"more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow"
@The Green Knight A man should be intelligent and responsible. What you wrote about is the opposite of both.
The funny thing is that these aren't slow bikes
Man, I love these guys... Thanks for the best motorcycle content on CZcams guys.
Brilliant as always guys, keep up the good work......love the 7R!
Well, rock hard, dried out, 11 yr. old tires probably add to the "feedback" sensations, lol.
Yup. The feedback of the front skidding sideways.
Always preferred the way the SRAD looked, but then I'm biased as I had one about 15 years ago
Yeah SRAD is nicer
Not to worry, you cant be right all the time
You are legends. Just finished the 1st BBB, happy to see you guys riding again these bikes!
Thanks guys, really missing the daft exploits of the BBB.....watched this with a big smile, can’t wait for you to be able to pick up on the next epic.
Check the valve clearances on the ZXR, the way it starts sounds like they are a bit tight.
I have one myself, 45000km,the valves generally don't really go off spec
Most of the time they fail to start because of clogged cars, specifically in the choke region of the carbs
I can only press the ‘like’ button once and not 44 times... utube what is your problem.!?!?
Another quality vid, makes me wanna take my Exup out for a spin, can’t wait to see another episode of bbb repair and restore. 👍👍👍👍
Just wicked!!! It makes me feel good to know that I'm not the only Wally Basher that loves these bikes. Can't wait to see what's coming up 😁
I cant believe you still didnt change the spark plugs on that Ninja.
I hit the like button before even watching it. 👍
Always
Would love to see these bikes finally finished and redo a bike battle with them.
Spaff everywhere... the ceilings, the walls, the windows just spaff dripping of everything. Fuk yeeeahhhhhhh.
Stoffel Vandoorne? 😂 Didn't realise Chris was into Formula 1
How does James feel about having BBB bikes at JHS again? Hope he won’t end up in hospital this time. Or has he locked the doors & emigrated in anticipation?
I love seeing you all work on these iconic bikes!
Its been a horrendous few days, but this video makes it a little better. Awesome bikes, McDonald's, a Breaking Bad reference, someone was called a "bell," and the usual shenanigans. Thanks so much.

@@Aspire198 Really? Picked up my 97 for $1200 USD!
Great to see these two back on the road, the memories came flooding back! You simply can't beat taken it back to basics. No 200+bhp which you can't use on roads, wings that mean nothing on public roads, needing a PHD in starting the thing. The classics never die.
New bikes aren’t that complicated. Never had a problem with any of the 200bhp+ bikes I’ve owned. Some rider modes and configurable options.. not that hard
"It worked the other day in the MOT" Brilliant.... Said that a few times...
This is perfect timing because I'm currently rebuilding my zx7r and just watching you ride it and hearing that sound makes me want to finish it even more
Your mechanical knowledge has come on massively. I remember the days you wouldn’t touch anything!
Hummmm disappointed about the other battle being binned for now but it’s understandable
It's pretty tricky to do when we can't travel and everything's shut
@Bunnyshooter 223 worse thing is it’s not everyone.... don’t get me started!
@Bunnyshooter 223 They are using this virus to push through 'The Great Reset' it would seem,....I really didn't want to believe this either but you can find the footage of the meetings in Davos yourself,...he even published a book: www.amazon.co.uk/COVID-19-Great-Reset-Klaus-Schwab/dp/2940631123
This sounds like a banging series....Really interested to watch the videos for this SRAD + ZX-7R series now
So much fun with these old girls, I've also been on and owned new 200 hp superbikes - but now I just enjoying kicking ass on my 2001 ZX9R. So much more character and useable power on the road. And here in Denmark where the taxes are 150% when buying a new bike my grin is even bigger.
A big thanks for the videos you're guys are producing
Can't go through the mcdrive on a bike in the Netherlands. God knows why.
Lmao. You can even walk through one in germany.
Chris "You can fix them with spanners"... words spoken by the most incompetent bike journo and practitioner of evangelical mechanical repairs. Three cylinders, as usual.
Brilliant what a great idea to compare the years can’t wait to see results keep em coming
Loved this video! Brings me back to when I first started riding... Thanks!
