I have always wanted to have wooden walls. Yours are looking great! When I was growing up down South, we lived in a house with wooden walls, so your choices for renovating your older Florida home are spot on.

A long time ago I read one of Don Aslett's books called "let your house do the housework" (or something like that). This bathroom wall gives me that vibe. All the stuff behind the wall, doing the work of the house but unseen. Easy care (I hope). He did a lot with things that kept the floor easy to clean (tables, toilets, etc.) He had done quite a bit of janitorial work and knew what would be easy care. Anyway, loving the tongue and groove siding, and that you were able to make it custom for your home.
I read that book too. It was my first decluttering inspiration. We have those same wall hung toilets and a wall hung sink because of his recommendation.
@@angelacross2216 His book "clutter's last stand" was the one that made me look at all my "stuff" in a whole different way :) That was WAY before youtube minimalist/decluttering videos :)

Hi Ashley & Doug, wow I love the wood on your walls. The colour and the sheen is beautiful. Your bathroom cabinets in your last house were great storage, I thought you would do something similar.

When i remodeled my bathroom, I used cedar tung and grove planking. Its great and still looks like new after 6 years. The cedar does well.

I love the look of tongue and groove boards. They give a warm feel as compared to the coldness of tiles. Both figuratively and literally. The benefit of having painted and varnishing each board individually is that once you install the boards and nail them, over time the varnish on the tongue and grooves will "stick" and form a good seal. Thus keeping moisture from going into the walls. Great work.
While I know they put in lot of tedious work to do this, they make it look so easy--like there's a crew there doing all the work for them.

Sorry Doug but they are all ready a samurai carpenter love the sound effects and I am so glad that ya'll are not using drywall it might be a more work in the beginning but wow it's so nice and the wood on the wall means that you don't have to find a stud to hang anything up great work and great videos can't wait for the finish.
