Millie is perfect for Enola's role. She is intelligent, smart, witty, outgoing, wild and beautiful. Movie recommended to every soul out there.
I agree that she played the role perfectly and she has all those wonderful qualities you mentioned, but I don't get the idea that an actor's character or attributes have to match the character's they are going to inhabit...

I’m 10 and I watched it with my mum and I loved it.
From the puzzle pieces that appear during the movie to the message that shows me I don’t have to be what someone considers a girl, I loved it and would love to see more!

This movie worked wonderfully. The direction, the story, the characters, the actors, the costumes, those small scenes where she connects to the third dimension (audience), those small humorous moments.. Everything was so beautifully done.
It was perfect and needs no Sequel.
You're right, but when I enjoy a particular world, I tend to be greedy and want more of it. The nature of this series is that with so many books, Millie could do ten movies and they would all be fun.

Honestly thought this was going to be overhyped and the acting would be predictable. But it wasn’t! Millie Bobby brown gives an outstanding performance. She’s kickass;a feminist icon in the making. You should expect nothing less than adventurous action and mystery where breaking the fourth wall actually helps the plot,rather than hurts your head. The costumes are beautiful;as well as the scenery. Enola breaks the stereotype of needing a man to come to the rescue. Rather,as a side quest,she rescues him!
Even better, they rescued each other and both of them broke stereotypes. He was a man who knew all about flowers. I love it. :)
Yesss. And I also loved how, even though there was chemistry between Enola and Tewkesbury, they didn’t kiss which showed that you can have a happy ending without people always having to kiss or having the guy get the girl

I didn’t expect this movie to be so good at all! Turned out it was a masterpiece. Everything about this movie is beautiful 🥰
"Tis I!" Loved this film! It was particularly enjoyable seeing certain scenes as a local and spotting things. I'm just going to say - the posters on the walls were comedy gold. I hope they do make it into a series, the way diversity is woven into the story in believable ways, the themes of growth, acceptance and change, nothing was overdone. Enola is a great role model for young people and older people. On my rewatch rotation already.

@@rupkathachakravartty4263 they weren’t so terrifying... the time period is very vague: here they said that the fil is set in the 1880s, but Enola was born in 1884, making this movie’s year 1900, but there were dresses and crinolines from all the 19th century: from the 1860s to the 1910s; but that’s not the point, I do quite like the fact that they mixed all of this together, but the thing that bugged me was how they handled corsetry in this movie: corsets were NOT symbol of oppression and all throughout the movie, we can see that they were (when Enola is at the “lady school” she tightened it so much! That wouldn’t have happened!) and when there’s the bad guy that staves her in the stomach, the corset saves her, showing that they were those fortresses they make us think they were, pretty unrealistic, considering it was made out of silk and whalebone

I appreciate all of the effort that goes into making a movie like this, and it was a lot of fun to watch! but the ironic comedy of watching Karolina Żebrowska's "Are "Enola Holmes" (2020) Costumes Historically Accurate?" video and then this one, where they talk about how much thought was put into the costumes, was incredible

Thinking when you get a scene like the street scenes they need to have extras doing various time-relevant activities but not all will necessarily be visible or noticeable on camera.
They have to make it appear as though the characters are just people of that time going through an everyday scene mostly unnoticed whereas the everyday scene is actually built for and around them.
What would you use as a more filming type eye makeup? Have a new YT channel and working with lighting is a challenge. Would be great to get your feedback😀
When I saw this film I didn't instantly realise that Millie Bobby Brown was playing as Enola, however the face did look awfully familiar.
It wasn't until Enola disquised herself as a boy on tge train when I noticed that it was Millie because of her short hair (like Elevens on Stanger things)😅
