After waiting exactly 120 seconds you should hear a buzzing sound coming from the transmission. Once that buzzing stops you can proceed to driving

It will be interesting to see if this transforms the driving experience.
We used to have to do something similar years ago with Mercedes trucks as the gearbox would sometimes decide it didn't want to select gears.

June 2024, just confirming that I have just done this and my 2012 E63BiTurbo has never felt this good.
It’s used to chop down to first gear quite harsh and also did a really poor mid throttle shift into second gear which was embarrassing.
I was thinking of the worst case scenario but honestly this has hugely changed the car for me.
Mine must had picked up so bad tricks and learnt them.

With the wrong fluid these modern gearboxes get's the wrong friction and can in turn grind down them self until they start running in limp home mode!

Hi.thank you for your video. I am facing an issue in the driving mode and I am confused on how to fixing it. See, when we shut the engine and stert again , the default driving mode selected is the "comfort" which gives a lighter steering wheel and thr lighter acceleration paddle, but in my car, which is 2021 E300, I feel a stiff steering g wheel and stiff acceleration paddle. Is this a gearbox issue or a mbux glith or I don't know what. Can you please help me. The driving experience is totally affected ad a result of it. Thank you

As a person unhappy with my sluggish engine (old Volvo diesel) I can contribute that some of my unhappiness hinges upon whether it is behaving as designed or whether it is a little poorly. If poorly I would like to make it better, whereas if this is as designed I will have a clear decision as to whether or not I can live with it.
As it is, I'm still trying to work out which of these two positions it's in and until I work that out I cannot decide whether or not I will be able to live with it.
In the mean time, at least it goes and is relatively economical.

@@paulie-Gualtieri. It's the 8 valve 1.6 diesel from 2011. (D2 DRIVe) It's just had a set of recon injectors which work fine, but have not changed its woeful throttle response. It needs a solid 2 seconds of right foot before I release the clutch. Really frustrating.
But once the turbo is turning it goes - and the economy is right - so I don't know whether to think it's poorly or just designed to be sluggish for the sake of fuel economy and dpf life.
I've had it a few years and my feeling is that it's worse than it was - the human ability to accommodate something like this means I'm just not sure whether it used to be less bad.
