Will Smith always had rhymes. Dude didn’t get the respect because he wasn’t some kind of hard core gangster rapper type. The man made good and fun music.
Yo should watch his speach at mtv awards where he won.
There you can see why he is Not gettin credit.
Will Smith got alot of respect this is hip hops first Grammy award winner this man's summertime anthem is a repeated billboard chart topper he got respect
“Yoooooo wassup, wipe yo feet all on the floor when ya walk in the door, someone just cleaned that floor, uh woo hoo wahaaa, respect yo girl when you’re on a date, only try to kiss her when she ready uh woohoo uh say what what, uh say what!”
Man's still got lyrics. And DJ Jazzy Jeff still mean on the mixes. *THAT'S HIP HOP!* BOIIIIIII!!
Will is like a human torch.. he's 50 yrs old and still spits fire!!! 🔥
Still proving you ain't gotta curse to spit a mean verse!
Exactly! Showing em how it's done. Big Willie Style is still his best solo album to me.
Two turntables and a microphone. This is old school rap. Amazing!
Havent seen that in s long time, feels refreshing, no mumbling, no inconsistent flow, just flow.
After years of today's music, a Fresh Prince verse on the Jazzy Jeff Scratches is very refreshing. Understanding every word, alone, was pretty nice.
listen to a rapper named Apathy, he makes hip hop in 2019...he can be kinda hard but he's dope, got crazy flows, battle rhymes, bugged stories..he's a lyricists.
Kids, you've just witnessed some of the greatest artistic chemistry of any duo in rap/hip-hop history.
Dam. Hes still got it. And of course jazzy Jeff is still a beast damn they're both a great team
Don’t care what he did at the the last awards show this man is a l living legend I’m 45 and I love the flow I love to hear every word this man raps about so clear and crispy and him and Jazz is the definition of Power team
CLINIC!!! No mumbling, no cursing, no disrespect to the ladies, just fire quality hip hop!
disrespect for the ladies?? it is just about ladies these days. Always have to be a sentence for the ladies. What about men, kids, grand people...
Imagine an old school tour after all this Corona stuff is over: Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Big Daddy Kane, Queen Latifah, Eric B. and Rhakim, etc. Just dreaming out loud. Just.......a dream?
If we are involving boy bands New kids on the block and Boyz II men don't sound bad
Will, is nasty on the mic. The first Rapper with a Grammy if I can remember.
Truth...once it (rap) was universally embraced as a genre. Prior to it was looked upon as a budding artform. Just to clarify.
@@sterlingrozier6380 will Smith is the very first rapper to win a Grammy for parents just don't understand and it was given to him in 1988 and it was televised on January 22,1989. From will Smith sophomore album he's the dj and I'm the rapper...
@@vernonjohnson997 young mc won the 1st solo rapper to win a Grammy in 1990 , for Bust a move
First hip hop artist to win a Grammy for a reason, legend in hip hop
And to think all the hate he got from the rap community when him and Jeff won... I think Will had the last laugh on all of 'em.
"Cuz If y'all forfeit and I feel friction,
Landlord... Givin' ya teeth an eviction...."
That bar was 💯% 🔥🔥🔥💀
These guys are late 40s early 50s sounding better than these mumble wack rappers out now.
The Fresh Prince was legit No matter what Anyone says you can listen to I'm the DJ He's the rapper and there is at least six. Songs that are killer on that album just because he started becoming a great actor doesn't mean he was an amazing storyteller When he was rapping He was from the cloth of Dana Dane And Slick Rick
AMAZING! No cursing, just clean Hip HOP always loved Will for that ! Such a LEGEND!
I like those types of raps..raps that makes you think. along with the lyrics
No mumbling,
No stumbling,
No fumbling,
Just rumbling. Will and Jazz bringing back the brand new funk! Man I've missed that old-school rap!
Snoop, DMX, Ice Cube and a lot of the old school rappers have been putting out new music lately. I’m loving all of this!
Jazzy Jeff is still deep in the music scene, he's got tons and tons of mixes out there in the world.
Will is better at rapping than 80 percent of rappers right now
Saw them in 88 with RUN DMC, Public Enemy, and EPMD when I was 12 at the Omni in Atlanta. It was a great experience, changed my life.
Old school bars and technical savvy. Intelligent, articulate and anecdotal. Much appreciated and needed bruh. Respect.
Very much

See them pull off Ki-ISH
Damn he still got it😱😱😱On behalf of my generation we're dead wrong for sleepin on this man!!!!!
And they are still sleep and what happen when you sleep....?? U mumble because u dont talk clearly in your sleep so thats why they mumble because some are scared to speak clearly.
They mumble because they get fried off drugs and then get on the mike they think theyre speaking perfect fluent english f u k k i n post millenials are trash
Amazing.
Profanity was really crippling my speech! Will Smith is always a positive influence😀👍
As a Philadelphian....THIS IS EPIC! Jeff is the best DJ world wide. Will never lost it.
This guy fought for Hip Hop to be recognized
He's a Hip Hop legend 🏆
I love this!!!!
Will Smith always had bars though. Even back then.
And notice... This rhyme had NO cusswords. That's true skill
No surprise though bc Will Smith doesn't use swearing in his music. He said he promised his Grandma he wouldn't do it.
No cussing, just wholesome rhymes about beating people to death.
DAMN!!!
DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince still got it going on!!!
After 30 something years????
DAMN!!!
DJ jazzy Jeff is the MAN! !
I could've listened to them for hours.
Please do this again ♥️
DJ Jazzy Jeff is such a master on the turntable and and underrated producer as well. Will is also very underrated as an MC. Call them corny all you want, but not only did they have a lot of talent, their contributions to hip hop are undeniable.
DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. This chemistry is eternal!!!
Will Smith will always be one of the greats in my book. Much love. Jazzy jeff one of the best. 🔥 🔥
That’s real HipHop. I miss that sound.
U should ain't lying. I am 45 yrs. Old . I grew upon this. That's Hip-hop!👍👍💪
Jeff is one of THE best to ever do it on mixer and turntables!
Well being from Philly i'll say he's definitely the front runner. But then there's Dj Cash Money...
CZcams fail. this should have been in my recommend long ago.
I would like this a million times and it would not be enough! I agree that much!
*And you've been schooled - courtesy of Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince* 💯👏👍🎤
Sure he is an actor now but you never do forget where you came from and this just proves it. Will still has it after all these years and he still sounds amazing!
Those of us who are older of course know ...remember they were performing 30 years ago ..a LOT of folk were not even born ..
@@UzzyT. Nope. The show was called Fresh Prince of bel air because Fresh Prince was his rap name.
I remember when he did the song Men in Black for the movie Men in Black
Will just brought back original hip-hop,been waiting for this day.
Yes! He maintains a story line and you know every word he is saying into the mic 🎤
This was EVERYTHING!!!!! The organic chemistry these two have is rare and truly extraordinary.
I never couldn't throw those rhymes without needing oxygen 30 seconds later, but the Prince stay Freshhh!!
"You didn't answer the phone for 2 years"
*Jeff laughs*
"AHH!" *Will throws Jeff out the studio*
Great video. Real hip hop still alive and strong. Love the jazz music in the background as well. Need that song.
Will Smith still has it, I hope he releases another album with Jazzy Jeff.
That old school just feels and sounds so much better. *sigh of relief*❤
First hip hop artist to win a Grammy and not say bad words 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️🙏
Jeff & Will won Best Rap performance in 1989... Young MC won in 1990... 🤷🏾
@@larryw973, I stand corrected. I guess that my memory isn't as exact as I believe. I just remember there being a big hoopla about Young MC beating out Run DMC for the first Grammy and DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince winning the next year.
He'll always belong with the greats in my opinion. Completely aware and accepting that many, many people, but he's the reason I can't commit to a top 5... Whenever I do leave him outta my list I instantly remember how much he actually did and where he helped bring mainstream hip hop. People call him soft because he respected every house his lyrics were played in, but they forget, although not hard, he's consistently dropped bars that speaks for anyone that hears it
A LIVE VERSION OF FROM THE SOUTH!!!
Never knew they preformed this b-side live!!!
Let's Not Forget Mr.Smith & Jazzy Jeff were THE FIRST Rap Collective to Win A Grammy💯
Not the first to win a Grammy, but the first to win the first Rap Grammy. I might be wrong lol.
They were hot in '88 but Public Enemy was the best thing then. Best album, best performance. What did Jeff & Prince win for? Best song?
@@nilhav not making songs about social injustice and oppression of blacks like p.e.
Jazzy Jeff and the fresh prince were on tour with PE and LL. Cool J back in the day...I think that concert was call "Fresh Fest" or something like that. Or was it the Def Jam tour?
This Freestlye is retroactively way funnier now
This is who Emem got his style from if you listen closely.
In the eighties Will and Heavy D were probably the most cleanest Mc's/Rappers in the game...
I mean they could rap without using cuss words and still rock the party😁😎✌🏾✌🏿👍🏿✊🏿
Will's album Big Willie Style is so underrated. One of his best albums in my opinion. Doesn't get enough credit.
Dude every track on Big Willie Style is legendary. People should talk about that more haha.
On a real none of his albums got the credit they really should've you can pop in anyone of the albums now let it be during the dj jazzy jeff and fresh prince era or during his solo era and be entertained how many albums now a days can you do that with
@@larrynintendo6838 exactly! These people that are surprised at this are missing out on a classic. I wish that album got more props.
@@mistahappy21 Yeah, you can throw on anyone one of those albums and enjoy yourself. I wish they got those albums got the credit they deserve. He's got so many good ones.
I still listen to BIG WILLIE STYLE love every song on it. A true LEGEND!!!
Will been actin so long, folks completely forgot dude had one of the smoothest lyrical flows in the game 💯
Some say life is a blessing especially when.. the life lived is lived to the fullest..
Well for me.. I have always been a fan of Dj jazzy Jeff and the Fresh prince .. not because they were public entertainers.
Of original hip hop.. but because of the unity of the two styles of musical expressions.. vocal and turntable wizardry.. and I am pretty sure the true friend ship of brother hood helped too..
One the best duos to ever exist to date
Back to the old days of Hip Hop when DJs be scratchin' and verses are crisp and clean..
Thanks Will & Jazzy Jeff for memories ✌
Man I still have those tapes. Love that you 2 are back at it. I make my kids listen to my favorites on road trips. Jeff can do stuff with his hands that most can't do with machines.
Great to see you guys together again.
Would be amazing for you guys to collaborate again. You two were a huge part of my childhood!
Much love brothas.
Young people listen here now, we can understand every word, the beat gets you moving, the WHOLE family can listen, etc etc etc. Sounds great! Thanks Will and Jeff. From West Oak Lane, Philly here.
that just real hip hop feel , like in all style of music , all just become mainstream
Tupac was better to me but you know old people and there going to miami and freshprince intro song was the best thing they had back then.. sad!
One of the best role models I look up to. As a person, familyman, businessman, artist, movies, etc etc. Thanks Will for all the inspiration over all the years.

When I hear or see the word Hip-hop, this is what I picture on my mind.
Will Smith is the best thing that happened to social media
I always wondered what it be like if Fresh Prince was on Social Media,
This is what it’s like and it’s awesome 😀🤴🏾
REAL HIP HOP.....this type of music changed my life for the better. i'm now 50. GOD BLESS YA'LL.
the streets need DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince back together again
Jazz is the 🐐
Epic... if you've never listened to their album "He's the DJ.. I'm the Rapper"... please do. One of the most underrated albums ever. Came out in late 80's, still rocks to this day
Hell yea, I was 8 when I dropped. I swear I still have the cassette....
Couldn't agree more, but I really think "And in this Corner" was when they were both at the absolute top of their game
@@zestydude87 Charlie Mack is the first out the limo!... So many classics on there. I think "Brand New Funk" is my favorite but so many to choose from.
Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince is just pure dopeness
Don't care what everyone says, have always loved Will Smith's flows...always fresh like a prince
Big Willie Style...That Summertime will never get old. Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff..nothing but 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dj Jazzy doing his thing without em Headphones... true master
Probably easier on the control vinyl, if it was normal vinyl skips and stuff would be a lot harder to look out for but he can just press a button
@@IsaiahMarcellino The play button on the turntable. And if it was on traditional vinyl it would be marked with a strip either way cues would be on the vinyl. So your point is invalid. Respectfully.
@@mrsoshadabaadman Nah he's def loading in his samples. I'm not saying he's not experienced or whatever but you can't say it's not easier with control vinyl. Pretty sure pressing a button is easier than moving the needle
I pray Will and Jazzy Jeff record another album someday and It's filled with this kind of timeless back-to-its-roots hip hop instead of more quickly passe pop songs.
He is such a legend! I don't care what anyone says, it's really hard not to love Will Smith! ❤
A wise man once said. "Let's go get some barbecue and get busy."
Summer Summer Summer timeeeee. Summer time. Time to sit back and unwind.
So clean, So fresh
Bringing old skool back👌
You took me back to me when I first listened to you two. Brought a smile to my face.
When Will speaks you can always hear his whole heart. That is awesome!
*Lost and Found* is Will Smith's most recent album, which was released back in 2005, and it's a straight banger. Whether a solo album or a DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince album, I want to hear Will spit some new tracks. Hip-hop will forever be embedded in Will Smith's DNA.
Man the entire world really slept on that album! Had some nice tracks from start to finish!
Love to see them back together doing their thing....
Outstanding. Both of them were awesome. Dynamic duo.
It's crazy how many ppl use to say Will was corny are now appreciating his skill 30 yrs later
He is corny, especially when he raps. Gettin jiggy wit it ring any bells? Nevertheless he is fun and talented at many things, so he has done well
@@safenders Getting Jiggy with it, hit or not? Doesn't matter your response. The people spoke

how can someone dislike this? These bars are hard than most of these new rappers! *repeat mode on*
These two just were and still are amongst the greatest to put mic and 1200s togethor to create what we in the 80s were crazy for - simple and entertaining hip hop. Legends both of 'em.
I close my eyes...And BAM! Just like that, I'm 24 again, listening to these artists play off of each other. Thanks for the time machine, gentlemen. I got older, but Will and Jeff never lost what made them great: an almost psychic connection between 2 childhood friends. No matter how many decades pass between collaborations, they pick up right where they left off, and we are just happy to be along for the ride.
Jazzy Jeff is NOT a professional button pusher, that was hella skill.
TF he’s DJ Jazzy Jeff. Definitely a professional and you shouldn’t be surprised. You are a ROOKIE🏆
I have seen him live twice he is skilled. I think he invented a couple scratching techniques.
The Fresh Prince & Jazzy Jeff needs to drop one last album for old times sake 🙏🏾🔥
Just waiting for this legends freaking comeback!
Dang, I forgot what it was like to understand every word a rapper was saying...he did that!❤

I forgot what it was like to hear a rapper not repeat the same four wards the whole song.
