Hey guys, I recently purchased the Cleveland Smart Sole Chipper after watching Crossy’s channel. I know you are familiar with how he and the Muppet twin use that club. I found it to be extremely helpful around the green. But what is incredibly cool is, my use of my 56 degree wedge has improved dramatically since using my chipper. Not exactly sure why, but my short game has improved in two areas now. Love my all black chipper.
I added one to the bag a couple of weeks ago. I have found it to be a pretty helpful club. It got me out of a couple of very difficult spots last round.
You keep saying who it's for in a negative way; yet if you personally, a good player, used it compared to your usual wedge in varying shots, you would do better with this club a large percentage of the time! Why such bias? I currently use a Cleveland chipper that is very similar and love it...not because I am a bad chipper, but because it is the better tool for the job. Which do you like better, the lighter Cleveland or the heavier ping?
Great video guys. I'm one of those 'can't chip for the life of me' but since I purchased the Cleveland Smart Sole Chipper and swallowed my pride it has helped my game so much. The Cleveland Smart Sole Chipper is a lot cheaper than the Ping and has more loft, which I like :) I changed the grip to a fat putter grip and I just love it. 3rd most used club in my bag
Chris - I'm definitely a convert to your method of using a 7 wood to pump and run onto greens from close range. I typically use an 8 iron (don't have a 7 wood or hybrid) with good results (Thank you!). Would you recommend using this club for those strokes plus the other uses you and James have demonstrated?
Mmmm, Nope, forget about Another club! It's all about feel. I've been using a 9 iron for any bump and run from 90 yds and in and for any shots from the fringe that does not require to carry over any trouble. I'll use a pitching wedge or a gap wedge around the greens where I do need to carry it or with little landing room. It's all about feel and a bit of practice to build confidence.
The problem with golf is it’s time hungry, I don’t have time to practice … I never have had, so a chipper that simplifies shots within the scoring zone is a win for lots of people. Chippers have negative opinions because mid to high handicap golfers think they’re better than they are.
Having the same issue with James, with the ball coming out "fiery" at times, which makes for the next one being too tentative, finishing excessively short.
Hi Chris good 👍Video, but would have liked to have see you hit more chip shots from different distances, to different pin positions, (you have such a great short game) with your 7Wood chipping, I wanted more feedback from you😃, I feel you need to do a more comprehensive review:-Please let me know your thoughts🤔, (on this well designed & great looking new club) Thanks Dickey 9hcp 75year Senior Golfer
What's wrong with James Doesn't he like you doing your own CZcams channel, he's always interrupting when you are trying to explain who it's best suited for

I can't be the only one who wants to see a longest drive with that club between you and Robbo

Wondering since it has 38 degree loft, how does it compare to using an 8 iron with similar loft?
How is it off the dirt, e.g. Las Vegas?
If you have space in your bag, why not?
I use a 64 degree lob wedge and hit it as high as I can because it’s fun. 🤷🏼♂️
Congratulations!
So are we looking at a future of driver . Chipr and putter in the bag
5:00 Am in the US..FIRST!!!
Would like to try one of those as my chipping could use some help.
What's wrong with James
Doesn't he like you doing your own CZcams channel, he's always interrupting when you are trying to explain who it's best suited for
Best suited to being placed in a cupboard as filming starts
Nobody should be ashamed of using this club.
It's just an iron with a different shaft angle.
