  • In it's sixth episode of Season 5, Expression Espresso has the versatile Dr. Pal Manickam as the guest. Listen on to how he tackles my questions and gives us some very good tips and advise on gut health and the dos and don'ts, in his own inimitable style, topped by ample humour!
Dr. Pal is perhaps one of the first few from the medical profession who discovered and made use of social media as a tool for betterment. His in-depth knowledge and research in his chosen field of gastroenterology, topped with his humour and simplicity in expressions have garnered for him a huge fan base. So many have benefitted by his tips and advice. He has clarified and broken so many myths and carved a separate path to good health with his simplistic approach.
Dr. Pal had his schooling in Madurai and later moved to Coimbatore to do his medical graduation. He then did his Masters in Public Health in Boston and went on to finish his MD in gastroenterology. Currently he practises at Sacramento and continues his research as well. Woooohhh…an impressive trajectory and amidst which he also makes time to reach out to people like us, educating all through his social media handles.
Listen on to this episode dedicated to gut health and how when taken care, is the best road to a healthy life!

Good discussion. Lot of times acid reflux is caused by lack of acid that causes indigestion. Stomach acid is essential for proper digestion. Another culprit could be H-Pylori bacterial infection.

Sudha Raghunathan would have found it difficult to get into medicine because she could not get Community certificate and so she was rightly advised that music was her calling, whereas it would be easy for Dr Pal to get into medicine because he could furnish Community certificate and so he was advised to give up sports (where there was no affirmative action) for medicine.
