What It's Like to Get Tested for Coronavirus | Quarantined

- A couple weeks ago, McKenna and Griffin documented what it was like to have parents who may be sick with the coronavirus. This week, they're reporting back on how their parents are doing, and what it's like to be quarantined with COVID-19-positive family members. So far, their parents' symptoms seem to be mild, but they're still maintaining social distancing and keeping six feet apart. McKenna has an underlying medical condition, so it's extra important that she doesn't catch the virus. Just to be safe, McKenna and Griffen are both getting tested for coronavirus, and they vlogged the whole experience so we can see exactly what it's like.

Yeah, it wasn't that bad, it took them 2 seconds to get the swab, then it stung for half an hour, then it didn't bother me after that at all

The test feels weird mostly pressure thats about it. Just feels weird coming out the swab. It makes you feel like you want to sneeze alot.
I got tested but only really felt like a tickle when you need to sneeze and slight pinch. But everyone reacts differently.
From the moment you go to get tested until you get your results ASUME ITS POSITIVE AND QUARENTINE!! Kudos to that mom!

I just got tested an hour ago, and it was unpleasant. It is just for a few seconds, and your nose feels a bit tender afterwards. But you will feel great after it! :D

@@LG-me5ll Ohmygod! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought it was the worst thing! Had to get tested 3 weeks ago and it hurt like hell! I'm not one who has issues with medical procedures- shots don't bother me, strep tests are no problem, I've even gotten 2 spinal taps without any issue. But this, I was in tears. It was the most intense burning I've ever experienced. It could of been because I was so sick that I was emotionally and physically drained that this sent me over the edge but it triggered my fight or flight response. I actually opened the car door ready to book it without understanding why.

For me, it was weird. When the thing when into my nose, it didn't sting until it went to its limit. But it only stang for like a second and then they pull it out.

I think they went a little more easy on me when I got tested this morning, but I didn’t think it was bad at all and I usually don’t do too well with anything medical and slightly invasive.

If your acting like u have the virus. Then you shouldn’t be talking to people. The doctors say that if you possibly or have the virus you must be trapped in a room Basically and if you leave you shouldn’t come in contact by 5- 6 feet with people.

I am so nervous because I have to get tested tomorrow. My brother had to get it done today and his nose literally started bleeding.
I just got my test done today, and having a "Waterfall nose" AKA a nose that always runs out the front rather than my throat, my swabbing went rather easily aside from the horrible need to sneeze when they swabbed me.
My BROTHER on the other hand hates his nose being touched by anything other than his hand or a tissue. He ALSO has a terrible gag reflex so he almost puked before they got it halfway through.

im having a swab test today but when i was 6 i stuffed my nose w/ tissues and they were stuck in my dang nose and im pretty sure it was pretty deep bcs u cant see the tissues but i dont fricken know i already did the repid test TWICE and the results are negative so whats the point
I think they want to get something from your brain. They went so deep it's been an hour and I still feel it. It felt as if inside my nose were extremely bleeding

Mine was the same except she counted 15 seconds and that didn't include the initial 3 seconds inserting it. To be fair though it was a fast 15 seconds so I'd say the total was around 12 seconds but still

To me, it hurted a lot, my eyes were watering, it burnt during and the pain lasted for at least 3 hours. I couldn't breath cuz it hurted, and also, they weren't able to do it on one nostril and they were just punching my nose bone

That's insane in Australia most of us get our results back within 24 hours. Testing is free too I'm extremely grateful for the healthcare system here. Many blessings

I work in a care home so I have to get tested weekly for coronavirus. I was nervous the first time I got tested but it went ok with no pain. First they put the swab at the down the back of your throat and then up your nose although it might be different depending on where you get tested. This is what they did when they tested me anyway.
I got the swab down my nose into my sinuses
My nose still hurts from it, I coughed all over her too when she stuck it up there.. by accident. She looked petrified after I did that and my mom told her I had a bunch of symptoms

The best thing you can do is relax. Being very tense can make it hurt more. It is definetly not a nice feeling but it's not that bad. It feels like water going up your nose and it may make you want to sneeze. Just try to relax and not worry to much. That shouls help!
