Great video I use the same technique to connect my API 3124’s to my Mackie 24 channel 8 bus mixer via xlr female to 1/4” male trs.
Thank you for this video, it taught me some great things. I was getting a bad sound from a pretty expensive tube microphone I just bought. I was using the XLR out from my external mic pre and going into the XLR in on my mixer. I almost thought my mic was damaged or something. Now it shines like my father in law's bald head.
This is so cool to learn from. I have been thinking about making my little DAW "digital homestudio" a bit more analog with some real gear. Wonder if it makes that much of a difference in the end. But would definitely be a lot of fun to learn everything🎉🎉🎉
Hello, I am curious to know if you do any coloring on the NEAT microphone in this video, as I really like the voice that is coming from the microphone compared to SHURE. So please elaborate on your setup for the NEAT microphone.
gonna be real with you i don't know if you processed the mics signal the same way but to me the moment you switched to the sm7b it did not sound good, is it because you can't bypass the mixer preamp and then the signal gets processed again?
I use a scarlet 18i20 with the golden age preamp and I can’t get a stereo printing , please help out .
I've re-listened it maybe 10 times, but it didn't get any better. The input 3 on your mixer, which "is typically expecting a microphone level signal" is called "Onyx Mic Pre", where Pre obviously stands for "preamplification". Which probably means that it needs to be preamplified. If yes, then how is it different from Line?
Ok, let me rephrase. What do you mean when you say "Microphone Level Input"?
Is it A) the weak signal which goes from the Mic and thus needs to be amplified OR B) is it the one which comes out of amplifier? In the latter case is it somehow different from the Line signal?
Microphones are very quiet compared to line level inputs.
@@kettnercreative And after preamp - are they still quiet compared to line level signal or they ARE line level signals?
Due to your experience, is there any device/pedal/box that eliminates mic feedback on live stage. Please help.
Behringer made a "Feedback Eliminator" at one point, but it nuked so many frequencies that nobody wanted to use it.
We did make a video with some helpful tips though: czcams.com/video/pfqPiQupaIA/video.html&lc=UgwmxhIFyanHHIJO8qF4AaABAg
@@kettnercreative I watch that video, indeed it was professional and helpful, thank you. But the thing is, I'm a Solo musician and I play alone in the venues and I don't have anyone else to set up and check for the issues while I'm playing. That's why I'm looking for a device that could by like a companion to me and do the job without me interfering
@@melodology-5383engage with the audience and ask them if everything is sounding good. Make adjustments from there.
What is your position on using Pre-amp on your two Bus or Mix Bus
I've never tried it... yet...
What if i want to record my guitar amp with 3 mics. Do I need 3 preamps? 😮
