South Korea signed a huge arms deal with Poland recently.. Poland is also interested in the KF-21.. Korea's military weapons are of interest by various countries.. Philippines wants South Korea's KF-21.. Korean military weapons have good prices and good quality.. If the Philippines delays the introduction of the KF-21, the ranking may be pushed back by Poland and other countries

Chinese technology is better
The KF21 is a good alternative for Filipinos with tight military budgets. Although there is a great airframe called the F-16, it takes more than 5 years for the Philippines to receive it, and the price is not cheap. The KF21 is currently under development, but mass production is planned for 2024 and can be supplied sooner than the F-16. Purchase and operation costs are expected to be cheaper than the F-16 advanced block.
Of course, price and delivery time are important, but performance is probably the most important. The KF-21 surpasses the Eurofighter Typhoon or Rafale and is considered to be on par with the F-16 Viper.
Philippine Air Force should award their MRF acquisition project to LM's F-16 Viper this year. Then make a follow-on orders of FA-50 by 2023. The KF-21 should be highly considered after its production starts. This should be the ideal trio fighter aircraft of the PAF.

Just little clarification specific to F50, F16 and Kf21.
Last a few years, number of countries tried to purchase F16 but failed due to discontinued lines. The only option is to purchase retiring F16s and refurbishing them. This has a few problems. Many retiring aircrafts are old and has limited airframe life span left. The high cost of upgrade to F16V may not justify the remaining life cycle of newly purchased second hand airframe. There is a huge demand for the existing F16s for spare parts, if Philippines are concerned with costs, this is going to be difficult due to competition. Also RM announced its primary focus will be F35 production not F16 production or upgrades.
FA50 Block I/II now has 3 year or more waiting list. It is producing more for Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Iraq and Poland. That is 80-100 units. Given current output if 20 units per year, there will be significant delay. KAI announced it has been expanding production lines as it is pitching fir US Advanced Tactical Training program. Either way, this will be the period with lowest unit cost due to production volume. In particular, Block II order book is just opened.
KF21 is a strategic asset. If Philippines wishes to purchase F22/ F35, it would require US congressional approval as well. Korea has better relationship with Philippines (active partnership in rebuilding Philippines Navy, airforce, even army), hence Korea sees Philippines as a strategic partner. It is likely Koreans would be willing to partner with PAF for KF21 Block 2 and so on. But for Block 1, the order book is closed. Block II delivery starts in 2028, Poland has already requested partnership in Block II (signed 48 FA50 Block II, discussing KF21 Block II/ III partnership). For example, if Taiwan, Vietnam requests KF21 partnership to Korea, Korea is unlikely to entertain the idea but at the moment Korea sees the important partnership with Philippines as Philippines assisted Korean War. This will be a good window to at least engage in a conversation. One thing to note from Polish deal is, Polish requested tech transfer. Koreans responded with two gifts. 1. Regional Combat Training Centre. All future pilots for FA50 in Europe will be trained in Poland. 2. Regional Maintenance Centre for Annul overhaul. The coverage will be entire Eastern Europe. Given Philippines’ position in ASEAN, it will be a good idea to have the Regional Maintenance Centre (which Malaysia is also asking for) AND Combat Flight Training Centre.
Korea operates relatively large military and is always conscious of operating costs. Philippines already know the cost of maintaining FA50 and how effective it is. F16, Griffin has double the operating cost vs FA50 and KF21 aims to have lower operating cost than those two as well.
If Philippines ever go into a military conflict (touch wood), what options would Philippines have? Expensive F35? Limited Griffin? Low cost FA50? semi stealth KF21? Or refurbished F16?

Considering normally the engine(s) accounts for 20~25% of a fighter jet, Koreans indigenously developed almost all technologies for KF-21 except for its GE engine(F414-GE-400K). The GE engines are also being produced in Korea by the Korean defense company Hanwha Aerospace with 40% Korean-made parts. Now KF-21 is called 4.5++ fighter jet with the least RCS and most advanced systems among the 4.5th generation fighter jets in the world. Also notable is the fact that from the beginning KF-21 was designed to be upgraded to a 5th or higher generation fighter jet at the stage of block 3 starting in 2028. Recently it was reported that the ROK Air Force is about to order the feasibility study for upgrading KF-21 to a 5.5th generation fighter jet.

@@adiba9734 Indonesia contributed almost nothing to the project. They stationed their "engineers" in the hopes to steal jet technology but KAI isn't that stupid. Indo paid less than 10% of what they are supposed to pay. There is no way Indo is getting any important technology transfer the way they have handled things thus far.
It is a more faithful investigation and data analysis than any other military expert channel in Korea.
Both the Korean government and KAI were fed up with Indonesia's insincere attitude to cooperation.
Korean media and experts predict that Indonesia will terminate the contract by 2023.
The reason is that
Indonesia cannot sustain the KF-21 business because it has purchased the Rafale and F-15EX with a limited budget.

Such a beautiful fighter, but operating it comes at a cost, especially due to the fact that it is a twin-engine jet. I am still hopeful that the PAF will be able to operate this fighter by around 2030
If budget is the problem, just buy another 3 to 4 squadron of the upgraded FA50 while waiting for the KF21. There is always strength in numbers.

Chinese 4th gen fighters will most definitely not stand a chance against the KF-21 for some obvious reasons. It may have 'limited' stealth capabilities but at least it can stay under the radar for some time, plus with the combination of its sensors and weapons like the MBDA Meteor or AIM-120 AMRAAM, it can definitely rule the skies of not just the Philippines but the Indo-Pacific region as well.
Chinese 4th gen is overrated like any other made in China products are. Heck they have so much trouble with refueling its like a hellcat guy trying to rob a bank and getting caught at the gas station next block.

South Korea is one of the few countries that export arms to other countries. South Korea exports South Korean military weapons to other countries besides the Philippines. When other countries have difficulties, other countries also help with the support of the UN.. Korea has also helped other countries in the past when other countries have difficulties.This has nothing to do with that matter

Although not combat proven, but if you look at it's specs, and weaponry, i'd say it is a very capable 4.5 th gen. MRF, it can even beat the latest F-16 Vipers of Lockheed Martin, no offense intended, but if your basing the specs, armaments and capabilities of the KF-21 Borromae, it's a perfect 4.5th gen. MRF for the PAF and Phil. Navy aviation division, acquiring at least 4 squadrons of FA-50 Block 20 for LCA project, 4 squadrons of KF-21 Borromae, and Gripen E, and 4 squadrons of D'assault Rafale, and a 4/8 squadrons of a 5th gen. MRF like the F-35 or a SU-57 or the single engine version SU-75 checkmate could be a perfect combo for the Air Force squadrons of LCA and MRF's of our Phil. Air Force, only my opinion, at least what i think Phil. Air Force should acquire for our aerial defense, a no nonsense procureme nt for better defensive and offensive capability at least in year 2022- 2028.

FBW is not an easy job for this type of fuselage. AESA, IR, EO, Electronic Warfare Suite and sensor fusion are more challenging. Missiles' development is also a tough task. Man-UnManned Teaming is the most difficult. It is interesting to see how and why Koreans succeed in some areas and fail in others. As a Korean, I want everything to go well. But this project is very, very ambitious.

I'm a Filipino-American living in Cebu and I see huge potential in this aircraft, particularly defense against foreign aggression like China and internal conflicts like the Maute Group (dissolved, succeeded by Turaifie Group). Also, PAF should consider the Turkish TF Kaan and the Indian HAL AMCA for stealth interceptors/air superiority fighters.
The KF21 will be the world's first 6th-generation fighter in 2030. The US also makes 6th-generation fighters, but they are developing a design completely different from the current F22 or F35, so the 6th-generation fighter will be released later than Korea.

The graphics are good.We've already created a space for weapons inside.The gas is larger than f35 and the engine length is shorter.So there's more room for arms inside.In Korea, we included it in the design in advance so that it can be developed as an aircraft carrier.It's called evolutionary development. I believe that dogfights might go exstinct since there are more stealthy 6th gen fighters. The only fights are probably going to be BVR or (Beyond Visual Range)

Only 3 and a half years left. Even if you order F16, it'll take at least 3~4 years or more to get it in your hand.
F-16V takes 3~4 years to produce because there are alot of customers and US is slowly finishing F-16 parts produce. so by the time 2026~2028 Korea will start its KF-21 Mass production which means almost no difference.

The KF-21 will be a welcome addition to capacitate the PAF's arsenal but earliest production is till in 2026.
In view of the more immediate threat to the Philippines' National Security & Territorial Integrity,
it would be more practicable for the DND/AFP to seriously consider acquiring UAV's such as the MQ-9 Reaper w/c cost around $17M per unit, that's cheap!
The MQ-9 is the first hunter-killer UAV designed for long-endurance, high-altitude surveillance, as well as, SAR for day & night ops.
Needless to say, learning from the War in Ukraine, it would also be best to acquire Stinger & Javelin missiles
w/c have been proven to be highly effective against aerial, naval & land based targets... & they are very easy to deploy & use manually.
