- In this week's video I am testing TikTok Art Hacks and Tips! I am testing out hacks for all kinds of different art related stuff like colored pencils, markers, paint, ibis paint X, Clip Studio Paint, webcomics, animation, and more! I paint Kirby from Kirby's Dream Buffet, I draw my Original Character Raelyn, Draw in my sketchbook, and so much more!

15:27 tip for coloring + eyestrain: Idk how to describe this correctly, but when changing the background it changes the way the colors look around it, e.g. if the bg is bright the colors look darker and vice versa, so *its always best to set the bg to a medium gray* , It helps the colors stay true + you don't make your eyes suffer
Not sure if I explained it correctly (this tip is from a video I saw long ago), and you probably already know all this,, but I wanted to share in case anyone didn't know :)
That is helpful information! Yes, when I am deciding my colors, I often set the background to what I think it will be in the final illustration so that the colors all look the way I want. Colors are very relative. XD

These tik tok hacks are really cool! Also, the hack of making digital art look like traditional art might be helpful for me because I like the way my traditional art looks better than my digital art and it's going to look a lot better (especially with my art style).

As someone who has used ibisPaint for like 3 years, i must say i have never realized they had a way to easily make light rays.
The procreate version of the sub die window is “reference” you can use it for the canvas or import photos :) (not sure if anyone needed this but it’s here)

Your videos make me want to try these and do more things like this with my art. I do use gradient maps a lot, but mostly for shading (I also use the multiply or linear burn layer)

the light rays (god rays) art hack is AMAZING!! idk how to make light rays it's so hard and when i first discovered the god rays effect i didn't know what it does but now i do so this is amazing omg❤❤

I love all your art! Acrylic is my main choice of medium. I recommend working in thin layers. It will give a smooth finish . May take a few layers but I think the end result is so beautiful

I knew all the ibis hacks and I was a little sad but they’re definitely very helpful
I sometimes use watercolor pencils and blend with water based markers!!

Yes, I used to really like using marker on top of pen! \(^u^)/
I do the paper texture layer on my art, It kind of became a part of my style
fun fact: if u click the button on the bottom right of ibis when in a drawing and click settings, u can turn on ‘refrence window’ and u can switch between having refrences and just another view of ur canvas and ur refrences save throughout projects, u can put multiple in and remove them when they’re not needed anymore!:D

Great video, can't wait to try the gradient trick! I have a bit of a question for you, have you heard that Clip Studio Paint will be turning into a subscription service soon? If so, what's your opinion on the change?
Aw thank you!! Yes, I have heard of that. At first, I wasn't happy. However, once I learned more about it and how Clip Studio Paint is handling updating the software and making new versions, I can see why they are doing it like this. =)
I think with the acrylic paint you should try using less strokes :)

I might have to try 0:34 - 2:04 I really liked the colour change and the way it moves it looks super cool also I like shiny things lol, 2:32 I will really use this hack I’ve been struggling with light rays and seeing this was super helpful, ok at 6:46 I heard you say “do you hate drawing water” and I was so excited that’s a great hack I need to try it later I was struggling with water for a river scene where it had just rained and the leaves were wet and this was perfect, I really like that you put time and effort into finding these for us, I really like your art style i especially like using your background drawings s inspiration for my own also I think you should show some more animation :) I’d. Like to see more animations?

Mixing markers and pencils is by far my favorite ’technique’ or whatever you call it!! It just makes the art have such a good smooth texture to add on
(edit) buy the cheap markers because it really doesn’t make a difference over pencil

These are so cool! I love your videos! I used to not have any grey markers, so I would use a colorless blender with a standard pencil to make grey.

Your "I draw my sibilings" that you made last year popped up on my recommendations. Are you going to do that again? I'm not saying you have to. I just know that your style changes a lot, and it's cool when you do it😋
OH OH! The waterdrop filter also works for Metallic effects. Make the metal layer, duplicate, water drop filter and then desaturate to grey-scale. Then set the layer as overlay, Color or hue. Boom! You have metal now!

7:19 there is also this option in ibis paint! just click on the arrow button in the right bottom, scroll through till you see reference window then it will appear in the top right! then click the picture button then you can see through your gallary! you can also move it around lol, oh yea and you can also resize it aswell! :]

Do you know an IbisPaint X if you go to filter < movie you can make it look like it’s raining you can change the settings on how much how fast and ext of the rain.
