What have you done to your Elise for racing? I'm just thinking about getting into it so all I know for sure that many places require is a fire extinguisher and an emergency fuel shut off. Love watching your videos, I've always loved driving and would like to get into weekend racing when I can, can't drive like this on roads haha
+Alex Burnside The car has been sold ;) I had no extinguisher and no emergency fuel shut off in the car, but I advise you to install it in your ;) I had just upgrades on my car. Only tyres (Avon ZZR), brakes (EBC Ultimax USR discs, Carbone Lorraine RC6 pads, and RBF660 liquid), and an ECU upgrade to 240hp ;)
Amazing video till this day I love lotus! I already knew Ferrari was gonna be faster in the straight line but lotus at turning is way better and that’s where lotus catches up on the turns.
Well, you have to consider that it also weighs only 2000 pounds. Relatively speaking in terms of speed it's probably around 400-ish horsepower in power to weight ratio.
No, I changed for a Caterham R300. I was really satisfied ! The only difficulty for using it everyday is to get in and out of the car. But you can do a lot of things with this car, more than a Caterham ^^
+Zach Berse It's done if you listen ;) No need to go to 8000rpm. If it's well done you have no jolts when you shift down fast, and it's what I do ;) Just go to the right rpm when you shift. 30.000kms and no problem with my gearbox ;)
+Harry David damn right! really no point downshift to 8k rpm. wear on trans + higher chance of over rev during some heated moments trying to clock personal timing... been there done that. :(
You don't down shift to redline.... In SCCA and PCA, NASA.... you're not even allowed to instruct or be a tracking student if you're not properly rev matching. You can lock up the rear wheels... and its down right bad to engine break. Your whole power train hates it. That Toyota power plant is a tough one. But I wouldn't ant to put extra stress for no reason. I'm not here to argue though!! Great color for the Elise man!! My favorite color. :)
No, all the engineering is done by Lotus in the UK. Always has been and hopefully always will. Lotus Cars and Lotus Engineering are both run as separate companies, based in Hethel, Norfolk. They're not owned by Proton these days.
thank god you didn't put any music for this video...
Nice lap.
And I love that supercharger whine!
Bright orange Elise, AND with the supercharger...envious! If I ever were to buy an Elise, it would have to be one like this.
IMO people who are into not just going straight the supercharger is a much better choice verse a turbo kit.
Mr- T supercharger sound
the elise sc comes from the factory with a supercharger...
Nice, smooth, fast, driving.
Love the sound of the SC 👍
Great video, lovely to hear the lotus singing its heart out.
balls of steel,well done

+Alex Burnside I have a 2005 elise for sale with 13,500 miles on it.
@@harrycliorsHi, I also have a SC. Was the ECU upgrade to 240HP worth it? Noticable? Think about upgrading as well.
Did this happen to be national smart cart racing day?
I’m just here to make sure there was no LOTUS - lift off throttle you spin. Good job man
Wow!
Violin under the hood made me sad :(
lol
PGTMR2 You m an the ultracharger in the back..? ;)
LOL

Something in there sounds like a mosquito
Hahahahahaha
Wow man i love this car, the sound i have a video on my channel on asseto corsa running the nurburgring
skilled driving, amigo.
what have you done with intake, my sc doesn't whine that loud!!??
He might have a smaller pulley, making the supercharger push more boost, effectively increasing the noise. I noticed a difference on my mini cooper s.
That's just the Cup Airbox with a TRD air filter which do that noise ;)No smaller pulley, you don't, it's bad for the supercharger ;)
Is this all stock at 217hp? It looks faster than that?
Well, you have to consider that it also weighs only 2000 pounds. Relatively speaking in terms of speed it's probably around 400-ish horsepower in power to weight ratio.
*Simplify, then add lightness.*
do you already have this car? Are you satisfied? Is it suitable for everyday use ?? ;-)
No, I changed for a Caterham R300. I was really satisfied ! The only difficulty for using it everyday is to get in and out of the car. But you can do a lot of things with this car, more than a Caterham ^^
Harry David May I ask why did you trade this for the Caterham then?
Performance, driving, weight.. same reason he went for Lotus in the first place.
i prefer supercharger whine to turbo whistle any day
That's supercharged sound? ? ?
+Shichao Zhang Right ;)
My Sport 220 (supercharged obviously) doesn’t make that supercharger sound ... did you change anything to your car ?
This is the older 2zz engined car. They are a lot louder than the modern ones.
And an extra passenger meaning more weight... nice driving
How much does a lap day cost there?
Bronson Burch 27€ for one lap. More you take laps, less is the price.
A million laps. Who is counting :D
wow
any mods
Pretty good, pre-tty pre-tty good...
jesus which supercharger is that?!
Pretty sure that is a standard factory Magnusson MP45, but with remap and louder intake.
Good

The camera that your using is so shitty, but I like the video that you made though

Don't you know how to rev match?
MrFunk and you're Keichi Tsuchiya or whatever lol
The noise is the turbo :)
Supercharger, not turbo.
sounds like an eletrical car :(
+nellaRissa Hahah that's the supercharger noise!
