One year of wear in one month! Cordobes engineer boots

- Engineer boots are rare, expensive, and undeniably cool. Unfortunately, that high price tag has prevented many people from trying out this amazing style, but Cordobes Boots has changed all that. Cordobes Engineer boots start at just $399, and even include a handwelt option! This is an outstanding value for boots of this type, and hopefully will allow more people to experience them. Engineer boots like the Kreosote Parler Skar, Role Club engineers, or Clinch boots can reach $2,000 or more. The Cordobes engineer boots offer a tremendous value, and I have them here in natural veg tan leather.

Reviews of high quality workwear, boots, and clothing for men to help you own better and own less. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well and allows you to own less and own better.

Thank you so much Mr. Murawski!
Thank you for the time and effort you have placed in making this video and Thank you for recoignizing our work.
We are very happy you like them and that you are wearing them. That's why they were made.
We also Thank you for your review, we listen very carefully to your feedback. We hope one day to have our name besides the big companies that have inspired us to exist. we know we can make better products and are committed to it.
My pleasure! I can't wait to see how you continue to hone your craft!
Happy for you guys, Alfonso. Keep up the great work!
@@derrickmartin9717 nice to see around Mr. Derrick, you are truly a gentleman and a friend, thank you for your support!
Those are some sharp looking boots!
I have the a chocolate cap-toe roughout from Cordobes and there is a reason Carl keeps coming back to how easy they are to wear: they are the most comfortable boot out of the box that I have ever worn. They fit like a glove and comfortable. That alone is worth the price of admission.
I havent worn laceless boots since i quit wearing my tanker boots in the military!😂 absolutely look well made and cheap enough to get into to see if i am happy
I actually like those cordobes boots! I like how alittle bit of weathering and usage goes with the boot! Another awesome video!
Right on! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment bro!
I always enjoy watching your videos!!
Great job for dispelling the myth about Engineer boots being for firestarters. I only learnt that this wasn't the case a few months ago and that they were actually for people in engineering. Also, I love the fact that you're a fellow hoffman boot fan. They really are the best kept secret of PNW boot makers. I love my 16 composite toe all leather powerline. If you could do a video on hoffman's I think that'd be a great idea. Much love.
They look GREAT! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I like how engineers look, and have a pair but I don't really wear them anymore because they don't have enough ankle support for my liking.
Great video, as always. I’m not a laceless boot guy, I can appreciate a quality product but I look at them & just see post WWII biker look, that’s not my style. Always a good time watching a Carl video
Thank you sir!!!
Man I think you've sold me on engineer boots
Those boots look decent, Carl. But that flat outsole (lack of an arch) and the color reminds me of UGGS. As to the bulkiness of the buckle that you mentioned, nothing a few minutes, and a steady hand, on a bench grinder couldn't take care of. Thanks for this video, Carl!!
Hey man! Thank you for the thoughtful observations. I hope you've been well bro!
I still LOL at the dude who thought veg tanned leather = vegan leather. I also think a lot of those comments don't understand the patina you'll get with natural leather. I've had a few natural leather items and watching them age over time is pretty sweet.
Freebird makes similarly priced engineer boot they call Easton. I was skeptical but ultimately very happy with them. No customization available but there isn’t much I would change on them.
Great review Sir! I've been looking at picking up a pair of Cordobes to augment my Wescos, you've definitely helped me make up my mind to add these to a birthday wish list. Keep up the great work!
Glad I could help!
Bother, your tip about a hot microfiber cloth on the instep. Game changer, thank you.
My pleasure!
I'm a sucker for engineer boots
If you could do a video about round house or prison blues that would be amazing i can't find any good videos about these brand so if you can look into making a video about either of them i would appreciate it a lot thanks
Good stuff Carl. My dad enjoyed the bit about the 10mm socket.
Hahahaha he gets it!
Those are nice boots, I made a backpack in natural veg tan and it looks so different now. It’s one of my favorite leathers but it’s rare to see them in a boot. I’m surprised they weren’t super stiff at first
Shockingly they were very pliable!
I would purchase that boot, but all that I myself would ask for is a structured round toe box.
Put some sno seal on that heel to help waterproof them and maybe help stop that delamination issue.
Love the look of engineer's and harness boots. Too bad that my ankes are destroyed and need lace ups.
Thanks for the review. They look like a great buy. I was hoping you'd compare them against, or at least mention your Nicks collaboration as you had mentioned those were one of your keepers in a previous video. Nonetheless this looks to be a target for those wanting to step up from Milwaukee or Chippewa.
Quite a bit of what I said about the Mister Lou can be applied to the Nicks collab. They're very similar, although the Nicks has more room in the toe box.
Vegtan boots are really awsome
I want to go on record saying grass stains are not a good look for any boot or shoe. Do not mow your lawn wearing any of your good footwear. LOL. Love the veg tan choice Carl!
My fav boot channel
my fav colour is black but i like red once but appartently its brown dont look brown to my thats red.
Solid boot, solid info… great video 👍
I appreciate that!
Buy and review some Chisos boots Carl !! The #2 Roughouts !!
A lot of boots are made in Mexico they’re just slapped with a “made in america” tag because well technically it is, just North America. That being said when you find hand crafted boots in Mexico they’re usually really good quality
I know that Schott makes good jackets, but when looking at their website you can see a listing for a pair of engineer boots. I wonder if those are any good?
They are outsourced from Chippewa btw
I also looked at the ones from Schott. Like franky3fingers337 pointed out, they're made by Chippewa who make decent boots.
They don't have the same quality as they did 25 years ago but they're an ok boot...if someone wants to use them as a motorcycle boot they should be just fine, but they probably won't hold up as a work boot.
id read chippewa closed all their usa factories. perhaps they use their designs? my guess is they are made by cove shoe company, i thought they were contractors used by Frye, Mark Albert, Carolina, Double H. Martinsburg, PA. the price is very good and the waxed leathers may be from seidel.
Love the schott cafe racer I have but I do wonder how well a leather jacket leather would do for a boot
I have had a pair for about a month. My biggest gripe was the super low heel - got a cobbler to fix that real quick. The leather seems to have some sort of coating on it
Nice shirt man! 😁
Hahahaha thank you!!!
Off topic Carl but you should do a video on Vest
I love vests! Good idea.
@@CarlMurawski yeah I want to get one for my dad he works in landscaping so I was thinking a vest so he can stay warm and still move his arms
I think they look great, and they’ll only get better.
I’m sure I read somewhere that engineer boots came from European 19th century officers horse riding boots.
Used to wear Herman Engineer boots and they were never that expensive in the day... Why now so expensive ?
Yes, Hermans, Chippewa, Georgia and Carolina all made engineer boots that would last for years and didn’t cost so much. What’s going on?
@@strengthandbulkMadness Right ?
I like the way they look from an objective standpoint , but they're just not for me
I have skinny calves and ankles, so pull on boots just don't work for me.
My preference is an 8" lace up tied quite snug.
I definitely envy people who can wear a nice pair of cool engineer boots, but thankfully there are so many very cool lace up boots out there to keep me from feeling too bad.
I have a wallet in natural, and when new, the color reminded me of a bandaid. Much darker now.
Ugh! Thats so true. It's that strange hospital gauze color.
Definitely looks better after aging
Did they see any San Francisco rain
Boots look great. What is your opinion on the chippewa engineer boots ?
Hay Carl you mentioned you you ordered in your normal size. So my question is I wear wides in athletic shoes but not wide in my boots ( red wing, Thursday, Jim Green’s) . What would you recommend?
Not a fan of the leather or sole. I prefer a finished natural over a true natural leather. Looks like a great boot for the money
The leather certainly isn't for everybody, but luckily you can spec out what you like.
I work 12 hour shifts in a machine shop on concrete. I am required to wear safety to boots. I'm looking for comfort but also a boot that will last and not burn my feet up. Any recommendation?
TANKER BOOTS ROCK!!! 🇺🇸
Based!
Could putting Sno-Seal (or something similar) on the heel stack help with that delamination?
I'll bet it would help quite a bit!
I think Canada West may have Cordobes beat on price… they make more of an actual work engineer though, favoured by bikers. Not as much leather in the sole but still great quality, resolability and heavy duty leather used.
Could you say that the color of those boots were like that of a piglet 😂😂😂
Honestly doesn’t look like a bad option if you’re on the fence about spending PNW-prices considering red wing engineers are pretty much impossible to find in the states.
Curious about the insole on those Cordobes though, are they veg tan also?
They are veg tan! This particular pair was handwelted, the handwelted insole must be a thick veg tan lasting board!
Yes
I purchased some engineers but I have a bit of heel slip I’ve heard this happens on cowboy boots and goes away with break in will the slip go away?
Yes, it might go away.
Schott BT54 engineers are $299. Supposedly white labelled by Chippewa?
Did you see the se Truman boots is having?
Wow! wonder if they ship to the UK just got myself a pair of near deadstock Red wing 2991 from 2010!
Go to their website and make contact with them, I'm certain they ship almost anywhere.
@@thenomenclature7243 Cheers they do 😀
Are the Wesco’s in the red Latigo leather? They look incredible
Yes sir! The Bakers Boots special.
I want some.
They'd match that Fat Boy you've got bro! Damn, those are some tall apes too. Love it!
@@CarlMurawski thanks, its a 1984 Flh Shovelhead. Ive been rocking engineers since the 60’s.
Nice!!!
Aguante Córdoba.
The edges on the heel look like that because they probably used cheaper veg tanned leather and some use the soft belly leather in their heel stacks to make it more comfortable .
You can solve that problem by sanding it smooth and then "soak" it with a acrylic sealant like Angelus . Put on a few coats and it will stay nice even after the rain .
love the video buy why is the background music only mono
What, no $10,000 boots to go with the $500 work shirts?
Did you condition these right out of the box?
No sir.
Go Go boots?
Easy there, Inspector Gadget! 😆
@@CarlMurawski Just having fun. Those could use a woodsman heel to be a success.
@@HorseBawlz lol I know bro.
It’s funny, I originally hated woodsman heels. Then I loved them. And now I’m kinda indifferent. I guess it’s the natural progression of things.
The nicks greaser FTW!
That comment from Brett is so stupid. Viberg would sell out every run of engineers within seconds.
Non stop wear of these boots for a month is a long time not to see yer wife for
Those are rough on the eyes. Has a Payless vibe.
Looks like something a non binary storm trooper would wear
Lol!
Cordobes is cheap junk. My heel layers and midsole came apart after three wears. Bad gluing. Leather was flimsy. Hardwear bendable cheap metal. Not solid at all.
