Jimmy and Mike are inseparable. They have a mutual, and professional, disrespect for each other.
lol, true
Mutual means for each other
@@carltonascarf7694 No it doesn't. Make and Jimmy could have a mutual respect for the law. They couldn't have an each other respect for the law.
the word Mutual is this case is superfluous only for the sake of setting up the joke.

@@educateme8455 It was likely (No, assuredly considering it's a checkpoint) on camera and he truly didn't do anything to cause him to worry over serious punishment, he put a finger on him then was restrained painfully in an armbar and could probably have a counter-case if they wanted to continue with charging him. That and he probably wanted to be done with this considering it's wasting his time and doesn't care that much about that particular ordeal when he has bigger fish to fry. 1:55 you can just see the absolute *disgust* Mike has for these crooked pigs, especially once we find out later what he went through in Philly.
Yup, I'm sure out of all the thieves and killers he mixed up with, Dirty Cops were the worst to him.
yes, and it means very little coming from an ex-crooked cop who decided to become an enforcer to a drug kingpin
@@michaeld7945 Mike has a code of honour. Pretty sure he wouldn't plant fake evidence on low-level drug dealers. Or, and this is where it gets heavy, he doesn't abuse his family, neither emotionally, physically nor sexually. Unlike *at* *least* 40% of American pigs. ACAB.

"Dead in the Jersey Pine Barrens."
Sopranos nod.
The man was an interior decorator.
The entire character of Juan Bolsa is a direct nod to Sopranos (Johnny Sack) and also Walt's cancer surgeon is the same actor who played Dr. Kennedy (Junior Sopranos cancer surgeon). Vince Gilligan admits he loves Sopranos and it was a big influence on him.
I don't really think it was specifically a Sopranos nod. The mafia notoriously used the pine barrens as a body dumping ground because it was such a vast uninhabited piece of wilderness.
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 Also Walt brought Pizza to his wife to convince her. Just like Tony did.
@@richxrocker4434 His house looked like shit
1:53 You know just by the look and ton of his voice, Mike has been in this position one to many times before. Jonathan is such an amazing actor.
1:57 Plus I love how consistent Mikes character is with his visual cues.
Notice how he bites his lip.
Throughout BB/BCS that has always been Mikes way of none verbally tell someone that he disapproves of something & would actually resolve the situation differently, or is disgusted by someone/something.
He too bites his lips & looks away as well when Tuco asked for his wallet, for hitting his car in Better Call Saul.
And does the same thing when Kai, one of the german workers called Werner Ziegler weak, and that he understands why Mike would have killed him.
Or when Walt tells Mike about his plan to murder Gus in the bar.
You know you've reached peak television when there are subtle, hidden details & nuances scattered all around those 2 shows.

4:32 Jersey Pine Barrens. Reference to The Sopranos Episode - Pine Barrens.
I know they had Odenkirk wearing a hairpiece for this role. But they made Jimmy’s hair look more natural than the hair in the later years in 2008-2010.
idk why but i really like jimmy and mike´s interaction
They both have distaste for each other but their skillsets complement each other perfectly, and both respect the other's abilities. It's such a fun dynamic
The exact moment when Mike told Jimmy to "Get a clue", that's when Saul truly became a Goodman.
Nah. Jimmy became Saul after his best friend died.
You mean when Jimmy truly became Saul.
Best show ever my goodness this one scene should make you wanna watch the series or watch it again!!! I’m starting again today
If that cop wouldn’t have touched Mike, he’d have helped.
Eh doubtful, Mike knew those cops were incompetent trying to force Jimmy to close the case early rather than putting in the work.

he should have taken his own advice considering he died while fleeing from his home and he died because he continued taking half measures by leaving walter alive again and again
Gus would have also likely failed had he not listened to Mike during this series, in BCS we see Gus is much more quicker to act compared to how he was in BB. It's Mike's consultation that basically helped Gus's plans come to fruition

Mike was a cop in Philly, like right next to New Jersey. Shut up nerd
Mike's stare is priceless.
"Dead in the new jersey pine barrens"
Mike: "Now everybody thought he was on the beach in the Bahamas, dead in the Jersey Pine Barrens..."
Was that a Sopranos reference?
Maybe, but probably not, the Pine Barrens are basically enshrined in Jersey's regional character. There's all sorts of myth about those counties and what can happen in them.
New Jersey pine barrens ... A reference to one of The Sopranos episode.
Or just a reference to a real place where criminals dump bodies IRL
That little twitch of disgust on Mike's lips at 1:55 LOVE IT
He laid his fingers on him!
2:06 the kid named finger
The tipping point was the cop putting his hand on Mike's arm.
Exactly. Mike very personally knew just how bad some douchebag cops could really be, and that bothered him more than some obnoxious public defender being a prick. Plus, it obviously helped to tip the scales that he actually believed Jimmy.
