    Hi again, Sabrina!
Thanks for the detailed breakdown. Compared to Chicago, the biggest differences seem to be in health insurance, rent, and Uber. Considering that the average Uber ride is $2, how much would people leave as a tip? Here in the US, the standard practice in restaurants and Uber seems to be 20% tip...but now I think some people are expecting 25-30%.
As always, awesome video. Keep up the great work!

    • @sabrinahuyke
      @sabrinahuyke  Před 5 měsíci +1

Hello hello! So tipping culture is not the same in Buenos Aires as it is in other countries, leaving tips for Ubers is completely optional honestly, the app gives you some suggestions but it's not a big percentage. When it comes to restaurants, the suggestion for tips is 10%.
Also, is your name Parnell? I just want to make sure because sometimes usernames are not the same as names, but I want to say thank you for all your support always! Every time I see a notification that you left a comment on my videos it makes my day because I feel like people can actually enjoy the videos and get something useful out of them. So thank you for always being there!

    Hey Sabrina,
    Thanks for the video!
I was thinking recently about what the alternative music/trendy scene was like. I heard that Buenos Aires was a creative spot these days. Just curious what it is like and would love to see a video about it if that was ever your thing lol

      Hey there!
Buenos Aires has a great creative scene in general, with a lot of independent theater plays and art expos, but I actually am not very involved in the alternative music scene here because I've been pretty focused on training and work, but I used to really like going to events like that in my hometown, so I will investigate a little bit!

Well even we, argentinians, cants explain taxes to ourselves xD
Buenos Aires (capital) is expensive, perhaps the most expensive part of argentina excluding Patagonia cities such as Bariloche/ Villa La Angostura and so.
My capital friends told me their cost of living there is around 1.7k/2.k. depending en som many factors
BUT... There is other places just as great as BA for long term living, for example Córdoba (Not the capital, but the mountain towns like Calamuchita), Mendoza, Salta... And the cost of living there is definitely under 1k.
I live in Buenos Aires (province) i do not recommend it... But our expenses here are around 0.7k living "well"
Anyways... Argentina´s economy is starting to stabilize, and now the change Peso/Dolar is not as good as it was before, and it is getting expensive in USD now.
You people with US salaries can still. live very well here, but not as cheap as before.
Inflation is going down, from 30% /month in December to 7% in April, and probably 4% in May (its still CRAZY HIGH i know). Just be careful about being scammed with rents and even food, which some dudes can still be charging for them as if inflation is growing instead of shrinking
Overall... Buenos Aires City is quite safe but somehow annoying when there are this so called "marchas" ( like protesters) stopping the transit for hours or even the hole day.
Then... About security, those mountain small towns of Cordoba are very safe (and very beauteful), south is safe too.
The worst in security right now are Provincia de Buenos Aires (all of it) and Rosario ( Narco problem)

Hello Fonzy! I'm glad you enjoy the videos!
So websites for rentals are Argenprop, Zonaprop, enbuenosaires.com and even mercado libre, but as for whether they are reliable postings or not it always depends! Honestly just last night there was a huge change by the government in the rentals regulations, so I myself am not sure how the process will be moving forward! I will most likely make a video update as soon as I have more info. :)

Hey Fernando! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I have personally worked with Medife and OSDE. OSDE is a bit more on the expensive side generally speaking but it has great benefits, and I changed from Medife because when I compared the costs it wasn't a HUGE difference in price. Other good ones are Swiss Medical and Galeno I believe.

I use OSDE which is one of the best ones in the country supposedly, but you also have Medife which can be decent, Swiss Medical and I am not sure about others. The most important thing you can do is ask what clinics and hospitals they include in their plans, cause some are better than others.
