    No excuse for them not to have metal chassis for these premium priced cars.

      Yeah, I tend to agree that these models should all have metal bases. I noticed that Mattel is starting to do some of their Hot Wheels Ultra Hots releases with metal bases which is very cool, not a premium release, but giving people something extra to help justify the cost versus just a mainline car.

    • @nickadams2451
      @nickadams2451 Před měsícem

      Just look over the ones that you see very carefully because the Celica has a tendency of being damaged due to the chassis being made out of plastic. I've come across several of the Celica where they were damaged and the package due to the rivet on the front end.

    as a hotwheels and matchbox customizer I can confirm that they do use the same size real riders but, and it's the rub.. more often than not Matchbox basic wheels sizes are about 2mm bigger than any regular real rider wheels. so when they put their standard size RR's on a casting that usually gets the larger plastic wheel, it looks goofy af. (imo anyway)

  • @ceeslee
    @ceeslee Před 4 měsíci

    The wheels tire and stance on the BRZ are on point for a stock car. The paint lets that model down if anything. The flake and the metallic is too big and not a flattering color.

  • @vivekaaraga
    @vivekaaraga Před 4 měsíci +2

    The Subaru looks great. But why are Matchbox so bad at making premium wheels? The stance of the BRZ is so off! Even the Cayenne looks weird with those stupid wheels. That Peridot green is a Cayenne GTS colour and you need to put wheels that are ultra low profile! The basic multi-spokes are so awesome! Could have used Hotwheels multi-spoke or 5 spoke!

    @jimsmagnificentminiaturemo3235 Před 4 měsíci +1

    The Pop Race BRZ is far and away a better model than that, and doesn't even cost that much more. That's really unfortunate. I actually like that old Toyota Corolla but Matchbox missed a trick by not putting mirrors on the front fenders like they did with the Mitsubishi Lancer Celeste.

    • @1TruePatriot
      @1TruePatriot Před 4 měsíci +1

      Mirrors forward on the fenders is a JDM-only thing. Americans aren't used to seeing that--but I get that many people WANT the JDMs.

  • @RiOrtiz3
    @RiOrtiz3 Před 4 měsíci +2

    Moving parts is a downgrade. They are often mis-aligned and often don't fully open. Often they have different shades of the same color.

  • @scoupedively5798
    @scoupedively5798 Před 4 měsíci

    Few swings, more misses than hits. I'm a 442 nut, and I'm really tired of diecast manufacturers insisting the car is lifted 8 inches, otherwise I feel they did well enough on that alone. The Rivie has solid details and doors installed by the local asylum, and it really ruins the car's quality. The BRZ looks great, cast-wise and details, but the jacked ride height and 20's also kills it. Celica liftback (which instead has a lifting hood, nice irony that.) has perhaps the best mix of details and proportions, missing only the metal base.

    • @blinddiecast
      @blinddiecast Před 4 měsíci +1

      yeah, no shit, Hot Wheels, as well, always wants a car, to look like a SUV, wish they would stop doing that as a collector

  • @Josh_Quillan
    @Josh_Quillan Před 3 měsíci

    I like the Celica casting but I hate the colour. Olds and Buick are both great, assuming you get lucky with door fitment. The Porsche is a great casting of a horrible car in an ugly colour, and the BRZ is all right except for the wheels (diameter is no problem, the issue is the too-narrow track width).

    • @TheSlvrGR86
