Suri is very pretty, but I'm sorry her looks are the spitting image of her father. Maybe if they were married long enough and had another baby, whether boy or girl that child would have looked like the spitting image of her mother.

No matter how much money her mom has, her father will never be there for her. He has chosen a religious group over family. A true loss for Tom and his daughter. Katie has really done her best and created a childhood for Suri. I hope one day Tom will wake up, and realize he has a beautiful daughter that most likely still lives him.

I don't think I've ever been so happy about a celebrity divorce. I am so glad she was taken away from the batshit world of Scientology. Her life is posh af, but it seems far more normal and stable.

I admire her strength in raising her child as a single parent, especially when it's got to be so hard to keep her out of the spotlight and away from people who could slaughter her name, away from Tom Cruise and Scientology and bearing the burden of her daughter not understanding why she can't see her dad. +Cathy Vanasse You're assuming that it's Katie's choice that Tom isn't in Suri's life, and you're also assuming Tom would be a good influence. 1. A strict rule in Scientology is that members are not allowed to socialise with ex-members (as ex-members are essentially banished), which has been one of the biggest downfalls. Scientology has been ripping families apart since it began, because it wants to isolate its members from any outside influence that doesn't agree, and because paparazzi would be looking for any chance Tom would be seeing his daughter, it's a reasonable assumption that he's probably the one initiating the estrangement.
2. Growing up without a dad is the BEST THING for a little girl, if the father is going to twist the relationship or take advantage of the child. Suri suffered through terrible things, things Tom had her endure because he believes it's good. This is the entire reason Katie left Tom, and Scientology in the first place--to protect Suri. Frankly, the most damaging thing that could happen to that child is for her to had to continue seeing him, suffering through those things, but grow up thinking he did it because he loved her, then finding out he did it because he loved the religion, not her.
Nobody sets out to be a single parent, but what I'm saying is that Katie overcame a lot of difficulties, and she's protecting Suri through all of them, even if Suri turns around one day and asks why she doesn't have a dad.

I worked at the school that she goes to in Calabasas and she seems like a normal kid. Glad she is able to have some normalcy with all the craziness going on around her.

I worked for Tom and Katie for 2 years when Suri was very little. I saw some interesting things going on behind the scenes with regard to Scientology. The Beckhams came with their 3 young boys and they all had a lot of fun playing and riding ATVs and motorbikes around the property all day, and I watched as Victoria Beckham jumped on the trampoline with Suri for hours. It was pretty cool to see what goes on with celebs when out of the public view. They're just people like you and me. Although those "normal" activities were then offset by the strange goings-on with that cult and their practices.

When you have a child your personal aspirations and personal preferences take a backseat to your personal responsibilities. More like forced not to have contact with those who leave the cult because they are considered oppressive people (unless you go through their long and tedious program where they basically brainwash you into being silent). It's more of scientology than anything. Once members leave the church they are force to "disconnect" with their family who have chosen to stay.
Now that I think about it, Tom's childhood was similar to Suri's; absent father and raised mostly (if not solely) by the mom. You'd be surprised how patterns occur in family trees.
