- Nelson is one of the top places in BC to ride.. but it really isn't on most people's radar like Whistler or North Vancouver are. In this video, I'll explain why it deserves more recognition!

Fun fact: I’ve never seen bcpov wheelie
Yeah you obviously hav- Oh WHAT WAIT A MINUTE
I have. In one of his vids he was doing a huge manual and turned it into a wheelie. Does that count?
@@james-xq4ke ya haha
he trys wheelie hard
☝️🧐 Fun Fact: I've never seen an elephant fly.
Literally every trail in Canada looks so sick! Why don't I live there lol.
I know right, It's not fair.
Gotta live at the right places to get trails cause not every city has them haha
milk in plastic bags.
@@AviCrocco hell yeah xD
@@AviCrocco haha, no bottles ??
The people are friendly the trails honor the North Shore legacy. Nelson rocks! Thanks for the sweet slab tour.
I’ve been a fan for a while and whenever I go on a feature I always say, “YOUUP!”
When it’s step on GoPro you know it’s super step in real life, lol.

I love super steep rollins. It's that feeling you get once you pass the line of no return. Once you're in it, noting else matters in the entire world except staying up right, feathering brakes at the right places, and plAnning your exit. I guess I love them because they were the first sick lines we rode as kids in the early mountain bike scene of late 80s early 90s. I sometimes can't believe I would drop in on some sketchy lines, no suspension, big 2.5 tires (gumwall of course), and center pull rim brakes that weren't worth the corroded, frayed cables. You would be lucky if they slowed you down just enough to make that s-turn exit. I've been lucky enough to grow up with mountain bikes. I've loved the progression of technology and the proliferation of new school trails being built. But my favorite thing has been introducing people to their own life long love of mountain bikes. I haven't done much with my life beyond enjoying it, but what I have done is introduce a lot of people to the sport. The best one was my wife. 10-15 years ago I got her a real mountain bike and instead of leaving her home on race day or trail days, I brought her along and now she rides DH with me and I don't have to worry she's gonna kill herself because I taught her a lot, and in turn more women are out on the trail theses days. There was a time when the only women I saw in a DH lift line was some chic holding her man's helmet while he adjusted his junk. Now there are just as many women in line at the local park than men.
As someone who grew up riding in Rossland, this video makes me smile :) I always have been surprised with how easy riding is everywhere else i've ever ridden for the "difficulty ratings"
That last slab on doz slabs is Seriously gnarly. Videos don't do it justice, Nice work!
I rode Newtsack 15 years ago and it was no joke - everything I rode in Nelson was as serious as a heart attack.
Is anyone else laughing at the trail name Newt sac
Just about to go to sleep. But a BCpov upload is my number one priority.
Same
Nice riding
Great video, Nelson is on my list for sure now! I’ve flown through a few times but had no idea.
I wouldn't normally comment on your videos, your awesome content means there is so much traffic. But this one has opened my eyes to Nelson. I've been to BC twice, visited all sorts, from Vancouver Island to Squamish and beyond to Sun Peaks and Silver Star. But never Nelson, so it is definitely on the list for my hopeful 2021 trip.
No way!!! Happy to see Nelson rides on my favourite account! I would love to get to ride with you guys while you’re here!!!
This channel just gets better and better, I cant stop watching!!
☝️🧐 yes you can.
Yup, looks like I might spend a summer exploring the bike parks in BC. Your videos are great and gives me ideas on where to go ride.
This was timely, thanks. I'll be in Nelson this weekend and really looking forward to time well spent with Honzo...and, my wife of course.
Hey your videos are my favourite, keep up the good content.
Another fantastic video - thanks!
Love love love beautiful Nelson! Have never mtb’d there but have done many backcountry snowboard and ski trips and shredded all of Whitewater. Love the Slocan Valley also. My favorite places in the world❤️
Yah! I had the jibblies the whole time watching this. Good stuff!
Wow, what amazing trails! Great video too. Really got me stoked to ride!
we got a new mountain with new trails in Quebec if you ever come back down to Bromont. 30kms away is a mountain called Sutton Mountain and they just opened up for biking with 20 new trails and bike demos! just thought i would share this info with you! All the best!
I love going to Nelson. Great riding in that area.
I live near nelson in crescent valley. Nelson has my fav trails dude!!
Beautiful
Wow. What a beautiful town and trails.
The reason they are blue is because the features are optional and you don’t have to do them
There's a few trails I ride locally that are rated in the opposite fashion, double black trails, but all the double black features have ride arounds.
Christopher Lindenau
Oh ok thanks for the info
We have the same thing in Europe as well. I was in Porte du Soleil (Morgins) last week and there was a blue that was harder than many reds (single blacks) I've ridden. There were ride arounds for all the gaps, but there were some pretty steep corners that would definitely not have been out of place on harder graded trails.
Exactly! :D
Have fun walking around the slabs
Sick love to see you advenchering places like that
My hometown! Grew up in Nelson riding with some of the craziest dudes. Lots of those trails revamped and added since back in the day. The old skinnies that were 15 feet high and up put hair on our chests!
YAY I early love your vids because of you I tried mountain biking,I LOVED IT
Nelson is so great! I lived there for 10 months:) great skiing too
You should go to telluride Colorado
Grew up on these trails! Think about Nelson often years later
The Narley Nelson Blue Bangers!
I lived in BC and I miss it everyday!! Now in Colorado witch is pretty awesome too.
Nice Video! Some of the green trails on Vancouver Island are more like blues. Another place in BC with hard “easy” trails. But all the trails are so much fun!
I live right by hartland and I feel I can ride anywhere now. I’d rather be at tzouhalem tho
stunning!!
My friend saw you in Nelson and I’m so jealous
I’ve traveled across the continent to go to Bald Face a few times. Looks like I need to make it back for summer in Nelson. ❤️
Great Vid, that place looks unreal, would love to ride there one day.
🤔 One day? Why not 2 or 3 days?
Good video thanks 👍
I have been waiting for this lol
I was born in nelson bc! Live in trail bc aswell love your videos man
Haha I was camping just across from Nelson north shore when you were. There’s so many epic trails!
☝️🧐 yes we know, because we were watching you the whole time.
Yuka is getting better all the time
Awsome video🤟✌😁
Awesome love it
Nelson and castlegar are some of the best rides. Love nelson great town great people great trails
That looks awesome! I’m back here in Texas wondering how you two have little fear... no I see why!
I feel like a lot of the blue trails in Sedona, Arizona could be black as well. 😰😉
What a great video!
another belting video , some proper gnar in them there woods
What a beautiful little town
Good video! 👏
When I lived in Nelson I rode all these trails over and over...and guess what..I got very good!
I can't wait till those of us in the US can visit Canada. This looks amazing
Next time you come to/near Nanaimo you should make a video on my home trail network, Dumont. They have raw tech trails along with machine cut trail. There are a couple of double black trails, one of which they just redid which is sick!
I miss the “today of bcpov”
Nelson here I come!!
Ahhh, good ol' Neldor.... Freeride lives in Nelson.
Great video
Nelson is paradise
I love your videos
In Wisconsin you can pretty much go down any trail super fast without stopping because you don’t have to worry about features like slabs or overly tight or steep drops
I laughed out loud a little when I saw the trailforks transition.
i feel your on the right track in it should be black when its blue. but this reminds when i first started to ride in 2004 and i would ride this mountain that opened up for chair lift access in bc for short time. tabor mountain ski hill. but they had some these style trails and they would blue and black parallel on the map going down the mountain side by side, the ride around would be consider blue when the sketchy or narly features being black
Please come to the Alps for visiting the big french bikeparks
Yuka is sending it!
Those rock slabs look so scary!
One word for this Sick
if its OK with you, I'll pass on neilson....... if only I had the skills ! Loved the vid
Impressive !!
i want to start mountain biking because of you thanks you
☝️🧐 I want to take English grammar classes because of you!
I wish that there were more trails like this in Australia
A little secret in Nelson (shhhh, don’t tell anyone) there is a SICK bike jump park located at 49.47846° N, 117.30034° W with jumps and features ranging from small to sends. Enjoy!
You guys need to come out to the wheel mill in Pittsburgh
you should try 24 hours of great glen, its a 24 hour race (obv) and the course is about 9 miles long, it will be my first year next year and it has many features like a skinny bridge that shifts with your weight
Thank you.
That is cool
Dude’s voice really grows on you. Great narration.
☝️🧐 do you know what else grows on you? Fungus!
Is that morning mountain toward the end of the video? I recognise it because I was there, great mtn
Eric loves rockslabs
For the record this isn't what people mean when they say: Local Black (Diamond) = BC Blue
I think this is exactly what they mean??
@@Yhigma Those trail are mislabeled down; the joke for my local trails is very technically (by a specific reading of imba trail reg's) rated up
@@dag7227 My experience has been that the trails in Nelson are really a cut above those in Eastern Washington, so it makes sense that a blue there is a black here. Simply put, the double blacks here don't get as gnarly
I love Nelson, my dad lives there
Great!
Man, this Trials HD remake is pretty nice...
This confuses me cause in the UK, blue trail are like "beginner" trails to intermediate trails and red trails are more advanced. Is it different in Canada?
You guys should go to Vernon next maybe I will see you there if you do go
Nice!
MTB needs a consistent trail grading system. A blue, is not always a blue. It changes from bike park to bike park. EX: Empire47 vs. Sentiers du Moulin. Thanks for the vid, Nelson looks amazing!
I know this video is 2 years old but me and my friend were biking the day this video was made because we saw your truck and started freaking out
Here in michigan lower peninsula that would be a quadruple black diamond xD
I live there! It's a great place to bike.
Are both the drops with 2 options on fat chance? Those features look so awesome 👏
So that's what BC means!!
Alberta has some very good trails for hiking and biking
Can you come back to Ottawa Ontario I know we have no trails it would just be so cool to see you and yukah
Love the contet keep the rithm also great riding😎😎
