- The Story of Tabitha (Dorcas) - A Faithful Disciple Raised to Life
Discover the inspiring story of Tabitha, also known as Dorcas, the only woman explicitly called a disciple in the New Testament. Tabitha lived in the ancient seaport of Joppa and was known for her good works and acts of charity. As a woman of dual Jewish-Greek heritage, she represented the multicultural nature of the early church.
Tabitha devoted herself to caring for widows and those in need. Her home became a place of fellowship, prayer and service - possibly one of the first monasteries or convents. But tragedy struck when Tabitha fell ill and died, leaving her community devastated.
In a powerful act of faith, the disciples sent for Peter, who was nearby. Peter followed Jesus' example, prayed, and spoke the words "Tabitha, arise!" Miraculously, Tabitha was raised back to life, her resurrection a testament to God's power and love.
News of this miracle spread, bringing many to believe in the Lord. Tabitha's story demonstrates that in God's kingdom, there is hope and new life available to all. Like the gazelle she was named for, Tabitha occupied a unique space, ministering to people from all walks of life. Her legacy reminds us that God's love extends to all nations and peoples.
Join us as we explore the moving account of Tabitha's life, death, and resurrection. Discover how her story foreshadows Peter's vision that the gospel is for all people. Be inspired by this faithful disciple's example of devotion, service and the power of God at work in the early church.
When I want to give up or when I’m ashamed because of my situation our Lord Jesus has comforted me. As a single mother with two children with special needs it can be overwhelming especially because I constantly struggle making ends meet. As I struggle to buy groceries each and every month and as I struggle to pay rent you Lord Jesus have never left my side. Thank you Lord please continue to give me strength. I know a blessing is on the way. ❤️🔥
Glory to God! He is your strength and shield, your provider, who will never leave you nor forsake you. He will continúe to manifest His ways and His glory unto your life. Hold on and believe his promises and always draw near to Him because He will always draw near unto his children. In Jesus holy and mighty name!

FOR ALL LIVE UNTO GOD (LUKE 20:38):
All things were made by God’s power and spirit alone and by himself (Isaiah 44:24). God the Father proves His power and spirit belongs to him and him alone when he raised Jesus from the dead. Nothing can live without God’s power and spirit; it is by God’s power and spirit that Jesus came back to life. It was God the Father who raised the dead and casted out demons through his Son, for he [the Father] doeth the works (John 14:10). Jesus does all things by the power and spirit of God within him (Matthew 12:28). As the Father has life in himself, so has he given to the son to have life in himself (John 5:26); the Father has given Jesus authority to execute judgment also, for Jesus is the Son of man.
All made by God will be resurrected; only God the Father himself cannot be resurrected. We must become like Jesus and have God’s power and spirit become one with us (2 Corinthians 6:16).
mistake of making all characters of the Bible pale , and not the right color
How SHAMEFUL! This is supposed to be Christian content and you *LITERALLY STOLE THIS ENTIRE STORY WORD FOR WORD* from another Christian channel called Grace and Peace Joanne LLC that posted it 2 years ago. I mean, you didn't even change NOT one word! 😡 They did all the research, but because you have a larger audience most wouldn't know. Yet Yahweh sees and knows all. May Yahweh judge you...
