I just found this Jan 2021. I lost my lifelong best friend 10 yrs ago to cancer. She was only 49. & this was our song for each other. Finding this on YT today is like her saying to me "I'm watching over you & you've still got a friend". Thanks for this!!!
I am so very sorry about losing your friend. I lost my best friend 18 years ago. Due to lung cancer. I just found this video tonight and brought back some wonderful memories, and some fresh tears. Pam I live you girl. You are missed. May you rest in peace. 🥰😭

Absolutely brilliant, this is what real music is all about.
On its own and even though it’s a cover, this is far better than any of the old crap they produce today.
A unique voice only happens rarely. This vocalist is well on his way to that exclusive list. The second I heard his voice I knew he had a special gift, one that stands out amongst the others.
I’m looking forward to more of his music.
I absolutely love this cover! Tears came to my eyes when you started singing because it brought back to my mind when my husband and I were dating in college when this song first came out. He was my best friend then, and still is after 47 years!

This was so beautiful. Not only was Austin’s voice suited for this song but Steven’s guitar was beautiful too. I loved the simple setting too, by a pond and a beautiful weeping willow. Just perfect.

Charmed, I heard Unchained Melody sung by Austin while being accompanied by Steven on guitar tonight. No lowd background music, just those two artists with their rendition of perhaps my favorite classic of all times. Well done, extremely so! Earlier this week, I heard Kelly Clarkson sing this in response to a request. She did a really good job as well. Usually I just say Hey Google play Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody. Two unexpected artists both singing my favorite all in the same week. What a treat!! 😊

Hearing this reminds me of a prayer made while standing in the shower, I had just begun to get to really know Jesus, and I wanted so badly to have that close relationship with Him like I’d read in the Bible so I prayed; Lord I just want so badly to have you as a friend like David did I want to know you as my friend. When I stepped out of the shower this song was playing on the radio 😊. That was 12 years ago and Jesus still shows up like that. Like here, thank you Austin and Steve.

Facing the possibility of letting go of a friend today is a heartbreaking moment for me. Heartbreaking because I love this woman. Heartbreaking because I see nothing good coming of it. Now, listening to you sing this song, I realize that although the friendship is causing me heartache, I can not abandon this woman. It is not a sexual relationship at all. It is one in which I see the good in her, I feel her heart and it is good, and I know that her problems, right at this moment in her life, are more than she can bear alone. By alone, I mean that she has no other emotional support. I will ask God to give me the strength and the ability to help her find herself. Charles we all need a friend in life, the kind of friend which you're referring to here in your comment and the kind being sung about. I know of what you write about all too well. Been there done that. Sometimes in being a good, caring, and loving friend we need to take a step back and give our friend some space but at the same time let them know that we're there for them if they should need us and all they have to do is call out our name. In the meantime we can pray for that friend and ask God to watch over and bless the needs of that person if it be His will. Not always are our prayers answered because He has other plans and lessons to teach and everything is in His time, not ours. Yet our prayers never go unheard and in that there is a blessing. I only just learned an hour ago that a very dear friend has come down with both Covid and pneumonia. Today my prayers are going out to her and to you and your friend ...... in the name of friendship I ask God to look after each of you and to hold you close in His loving care.
