I watched this movie with my seven year old brother, and he predicted a short bit into the movie that Bruno was Mirabel's father. I just told him that he couldn't be because Mirabel calls him Tio meaning uncle, because I couldn't explain how that would actually go lol
If this was canon, do you imagine the amount of reject that Mirabel would recive from the other people in the encanto? They already slightly rejected her because she was the only Madrigal without a gift, but taking in count that they didn’t like Bruno either, geez it’s sad to imagine
I think Abuela Alma would reject her even more if this was canon. Since she already disliked Mirabel for not having a gift. Imagine how she would feel about her if she believed that it was Mirabel's fault that Bruno left.

The whole family betrayed her already (except her parents, gosh i love Augustine and Julieta a lot). Remember the dinner scene where dolores heard that mirabel was on bruno's vision? And decided to tell everyone? Starting with camilo and then felix.. and pepa.. untill it's messed up, but atleast she saved isa from getting married with mariano ig
The "nobody's worried" really got to me, because in the movie nobody even cared that Bruno was missing for 10 years, and some of them were even glad that he was gone. Nobody worried about him, even the ones who knew he wasn't evil.

The fact that the Madrigals boarded up Bruno's room is so sad. Imagine being Mirabel where your talking about your dad is forbidden since everyone thinks he's bad luck and him leaving on the night you didn't get a gift and having no mom or siblings to share the burden. Actually, from their perspective he gave up on the family, most of the time they didn't think it was his fault, they only thought so after he disappeared, basically from Abuella's perspective, she saw Mirabel didn't get a gift, so she asked Bruno, and they he just never appeared. So to her, and the rest of the family it seems as though he just left and gave up on his family. You gotta put yourself in other people's shoes.

Imagine this. Bruno was a single father raising mirabel to the best of his abilities after the tragic passing of his wife. Once he found out that mirabel was going to break the miracle he left to protect her and keep it a secret. Julieta and Agustín took her in as their own raising her to keep it a secret that Bruno was her real dad and since then she's always thought that Julieta was her mother. That's why Bruno and Mirabel look so similar. And why Bruno is seemingly the only of the trio with no kids. Just made this up on the spot but hot damn it would give the movie a whole new perspective. (edit, that's what the video was saying. I didn't see that it said papa bruno au :|)

Ik she cant remember him later, but damn. im literally crying rn...
All these people over here talking about Bruno being Mirabel’s dad because of the AU… But honestly I’m just thinking about if he had been around and disappeared while Mirabel was still that little, and had been like- BEST uncle to her. As someone who absolutely adores my uncles.. I can’t imagine the heartbreak I’d feel if one of them suddenly up and disappeared because of a family conflict. (Not to mention that Bruno is Mira’s ONLY uncle by blood and not marriage.)

Idk who made the au i just heard the name from someone n made my own interpretation so i guess this is my version of it ? Idk
If you have no idea what that au is, it's basically an au where Mirabel was Bruno's daughter! But when he left, Julietta and Agustin adopted her n raises her as their own. Mirabel forgets that Bruno is her actual father :)
