hiya! what orchestra was this a part of? I'm doing some research on the cornet part that berlioz wrote and need some evidence of it played today in an orchestra!
The cornetist plays a flourish @ 0:30 then a long wait until 3:08 when he re-enters and plays to the end of the movement (he forgets the brief part in the middle @ c2:00)
Thank you for this great video! If I may ask, do you happen to know why is cornet a pistons omitted from some editions of Symphonie Fantastique? This information would mean a lot because I'm currently working on my master thesis about Fantastique and I can't seem to find this information in the literature. Thank you in advance!
Berlioz added this cornet part later in the autograph. It’s even labeled as an optional part in the score, and some editors recommend omitting it. Although in my personal opinion, the cornet is the glue that makes the waltz feeling.
@@julienrobert08 I totally get it! It’s a baseball tradition that is slightly humorous, but also intended not to interrupt or distract a pitcher who’s doing great!😁
I play cornet myself and this is actually my favourite piece! Hopefully I get to play this one day myself!!
I hope for you :)
Excellent ❤ very very difficulty part
beautiful
thanks ;) ;)

I forgot to play a small part between 0:30 and 3:08, but I forgot to play because of noise behind the orchestra which disturb us ;)
bro, this is great!
many thanks :)

Sorry to answer you very late, I have heard that the cornet part of this movement has been added and dedicated later for Arban.
bravo cornet obligato
merci !!
The rest of the section treats this cornetist like a pitcher in the 7th inning of a no- hitter!🥵😂
Don’t worry it was very friendship :-)
