I will be 53 this month.. it has taken me decades to gather and make my home into what it is.. in the middle of raising five kids on my own.. and now remarried and grandma of six. people come to the house and the first thing they say is it's so welcoming and makes you want to sit down and grab a crochet throw and take a nap... The greatest compliment ever....
Yes, that is a high compliment!!
Cozy doesn't have to be complicated, less is more, clean and not cluttered with junk. A couple of blankets in the winter. 🌻🌻
It is so true that every home asks something different of you. The home has a personality and you can make it your style, but not overpower the character of the home, or it just looks odd.
Yay! It's Liz!!!❤
"Giving that permission to every area of our life." I love this. The world needs examples of slow living. Good things take time, and usually rushing messes things up. Great podcast, Lisa!
after being stalked, I totally understand the importance of designing your home with safety in mind. I love the look of no curtains, but I am not comfortable in the evenings without window dressing of some sort. A room with no window dressing would not feel cozy to me at all. And the safety of new windows is worth the cost. They are harder to get open from the outside, they cannot be unlocked or pried open like the old sash windows of old farmhouses. Again, totally worth the investment to replace the windows. Budget for that, and for window dressing for privacy. Love this segment
I really enjoyed this! I love seeing homes with their own individual style. Everyone doesn’t need the same wall color, flooring or kitchen cabinets. I agree about the Winter months. Cold and dark at 5:30 is depressing. Happy birthday month! Take care and God bless! 😀❤️
Thank you so much!!
Two beautiful ladies together! I loved this video, it definitely spoke to me. I am in a new season of my life where I have some free time to slow down and enjoy simple living. I'm so glad for your channel.
I loved this episode. I'm a minimalist, so my peices are all super special things that we love and are comforted by. With three little kids in a small place, it feels better to not have a lot of things, and I love that you are both understanding of minimalism, this could just be a season for me, and when my kids are older i might enjoy more, im excited to check out her books.
I'm so excited to see this collaboration! Love you both!
WOW!!! I love that statement..."DARE TO BE YOURSELF". Thank you!!
This was a wonderful video. We've lived in our home for 37 years and we have made many changes over the years. I love what both of you stated about things taking time. I also read that our tastes and decorating styles generally change about every 10 years. What I have been MOST amazed at since starting Instagram and CZcams in the past couple of years, are the young people (I'm 66 so everyone is young) who have been able to build new homes and big expensive homes at that. Then they seem to get all new furnishings, and decorations (no doubt a lot of sponsors contributed) but I am still amazed. I find that a lot of the homes are very similar with little character. To each their own! Thank you for sharing your love of cozy home spaces. I enjoy following both of you!!
Thank you!
I’ve been ordering from Azure for 2 years and shipping is never free. It all depends on how heavy your order is. I love Azure but unfortunately shipping is not free.
I love your podcast!! ❤
I met Liz, and she’s sooo sweet and genuine.🥰🫶🏻
Great show, Ladies!!! Thank 😊
I feel cozy just listening to this episode 🙂
It's dark for 9 months of winter in N Canada. I have a cupboard of Candles and Christmas lights all winter . Colourful lights before Christmas and white or blue lights from January until May that create joy and warmth in the winter.
I agree on November. It is one of my least favorite months and is my birthday month (just celebrated it last week).
I am listening to my home. Enjoyed this episode!
Had to stop and say YES. Smaller spaces are so much easier to decorate. We left a massive house of 4000sq ft because I frankly hated the vastness of it. Couldn’t do a single thing. The open floor plan was such a cavern. It didn’t feel safe because of the sheer volume of space. Awful. I’d much rather have half that or less. In an apartment now until we figure something else out and am so much happier. You have to know yourself.
hey girl- This was oh so good! ☺I just love a cozy home. Liz's book sounds so nice
I enjoyed the chat with her last time and I doubly enjoyed it this time. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
I love thrifting, but wall decorations need to have meaning for me. I prefer pictures I’ve taken, of family, pets or glued puzzles we’ve put together as a family. Currently I’m looking to repaint wall before tackling refinishing floors, but choosing colors is the hardest. I want a more airy feel, less dark colors and of course my husband wants everything to have white trim (which never stays clean). While the garden sleeps I’ll make my move starting with a light sage green and whatever wall art comes down will only go back up if actually fits the space.
Love this interview :-)
Hello Lisa! I have been ordering from Azure for a few years, I have not found that delivery is free! Can you let us know how it works to have free shipping? Thank you!
Also, I love the sound of Liz’s book. And I found decorating smaller places when I lived in Europe easier to decorate than the big rooms (with closets - I love wardrobes!) here in America! So every move we make, our house shrinks 😅
I have you're bookcozy white cottage......love love love it
Fun episode, thanks ladies 😊
Our pleasure!
I love your podcasts. I would love to hear a conversation with you and Donna Schwenk on fermented foods. She has a podcast on CZcams as well.
Love her ❤
