Yeah there’s a channel called TheVolgun and he’s got some good content on the individual SCPs and Explaining Series is another channel that’s good for understanding the Concept and Idea of the SCP Foundation the individual Organizations and he has some videos explaining what MTFs.

This is essentially a window into a cold-discovery of an SCP.
You have no idea the extent of the SCP.
Likely, every one of these guys, even the guy who sat in the van, will go through a battery of tests to ensure they aren't contaminated physically or mentally.
Hell, driving into the neighbourhood may have already dumped them into an alternate reality.
Leaving behind the guy who is glitching, glowing and repeating numbers in a weird voice is a no brainer.

18:58 That's usually standard procedure in the SCP. If someone is caught by an unidentified anomaly, he's presumed KIA, since attempting to help might jeorpadize the safety of the other agents.
From what I read and watched, SOP for downed, caught, or anomalously affected personnel is usually to leave the affected person alone, don’t interact with the person, and note it down, unless the affected person is confirmed to be safe to interact with.
Personnel affected by an SCP's anomalous effects are categorised as Class-E Personnel. They aren't necessarily considered KIA, but they are to be avoided at all costs if the effects of contact are not well documented.

SCP isn't necessarily horror. It's just dealing with things which are not "normal" or "natural" to the human race and its known physics. SCP also deals with things like aliens, space-ships, dimensional travel, magic, nanotech, etc.

This is what I love about SCP. It's that sensation of things-not-quite-right.. Whether it's horror, comedy, or jist interesting. It exudes that sensation of "I don't have a handle on how reality works".
It's like the wonder of a child only with amped up consequences.
The reason why they are so chill about all this is because investigating weird phenomenon is their job. They have seen _even weirder shit_ than a house being controlled by glitchy computer. Their tactics and SOPs are also not standard because most of what they encounter are not even human to begin with (although I do admit they are lacking in the clearing department bit). Why they left their downed(?) man behind is because they don't know what will happen if they touched him or even _look_ at him too long is going to do to them, and so they play it safe. The Foundation does a lot of inhumane stuff all for the greater good, but considering the reality-breaking nature of their contacts, this is quite justified.
"Secure, Contain, Protect" is a rabbit hole of cosmical creepypasta stories based on the fictional SCP Foundation sent to recon and document anomalies, then figure out how to contain them, if not outright destroy only if it poses a threat to reality. The next one, "SCP: Overlord" is phenomenal in production value and story. Hope you do react to it next week or this weekend!

I totally agree that "Military Horror" is something that definently needs to be fleshed out and more publicly recognized. There is so much potential there.
The movie "Spectral" on Netflix was so good for this. Although not quite horror near the end, about 3/4 of the movie was almost a like a Foundation op to contain an anomaly.
I agree, because think about it. "Oh no, this monster/entity killed a completely average, untrained person." Horrific, but understandable. But if that same monster/entity manages to take out someone TRAINED to deal with it? There's some clear power scaling there, thus making the entity seem that much stronger and unstoppable. Like shit, if those special ops guys couldn't handle it, what could little ol' me do??

MTF is an acronym for mobile task force and they know they can die any second thats why they were so calm and there's many branches that do seperate things and the guy gliched cuz of the anomaly or maybe a cognito hazard which is basically an image, word or simbols that that are imposible to exist or supernatural origins and they like break your mind cuz you cant comprehend them or just are imposible to exist like cathulu if you see him you go crazy

"you're just gonna leave him there" they're in a place beyond their comprehension with unknown effects in play. said effects have glitched out their friend to the point of being mistaken for a character model from assassin's creed. they don't know if it's communicable, if their friend is being controlled by the enemy, if he'll explode as soon as they touch him, or anything really. better to leave him and write up a positively glowing obituary than to sacrifice you and your team trying to save someone who may well be lost
The scp foundation is loaded, they would give their men brand new stuff, plus knowing them most of their calls are false alarms so they rarely use it

Not so much, the standard lifespan of an MTF is almost just their first mission, so that most MTF's has high rotation of personnel. so the brand new equipment is kind of justified. Also remember that the only kind of data of what they're facing is that a Cognito-hazard that implies that can manipulate the mind of anything that is inside it's radius of effect.

Also for those wondering why the video ended the moment he hit 'Power', the implication is we started watching as soon as they got within range of the laptop's influence, and the laptop was slowly assimilating the nearby reality as digital files. This is why the corruption was so strong closest to the source; I'd imagine literally downloading a section of geography would cause storage issues.
By powering it down in the midst of a file transfer, he likely corrupted everything on the hard drive, thus likely neutralizing the SCP, but doing god-knows-what to everything within its influence.

By the way, MTF stands for Mobile Task Force. They're basically the specialized soldiers that get sent out to secure or investigate new locations that might be dangerous before sending in regular people to document the anomalies, or recapturing escaped ones. There's loads of different divisions for specific situations like bio-hazards, technology/robots and even ghosts.

MTF stands for Mobile Task Force. They are basically listed soldiers or sometimes ex Foundation Security Agents.
The gear is supposed to look new as they are normally supplied with new gear each time depending on the task they are set. These MTFs are tasked with checking out a potential anomaly where as some will be tasked with containing an Anomaly the foundation has already located/contained before, therefore giving the correct equipment to complete the task at hand.

Honestly, watching a reaction by someone with experience in the military but no knowledge about SCP makes this video particularly fun and I will eagerly await a video on Overlord.
I don't think that he realizes that they are so calm because in this universe, this is their literal job. All of the weird stuff are things that they have experienced before or at least have heard stories from other MTF teams.

These scp projects that Evan did kinda remind me of the first Cloverfield movie. For as close as to the first horror - war thing that I've witnessed, but instead of film from a survivor, it's "a" crew from the foundation. Scp mtfs is a mobile task force, top tier brand new stuff makes sense for them. They operate as an independent organization from any government in their fictional universe. It makes perfect sense for them to ditch the guy within their universe. They have no idea if his condition is contagious. It usually is too.
FYI, if it follows specific SCP lore, then the gear would be new for containment reasons. Essentially, they'd have to burn everything every time, but that's only conjecture.

19:00 the MTF doesn’t know how the anomaly works, and (until more is known about said anomaly) it is safe to assume that whoever glitches out is dead. Nothing is known, including possible treatment of the anomaly. This applies to all anomalies that the MTF first interact with.
TLDR: until more is known about an anomaly, the MTF operates under the assumption that the soldier is KIA when spooky shit happens to said soldier

the reason why there gear is so fresh is because the need pristine gear for there missons. if not the have the old gear has to be worn, which is bad because the entity messes with the gear such as the nods maybe even the plates they use for there vests could be affected.
The pristine gear is definitely part of the aesthetic. Foundation MTFS are top funded with the newest toys, on top of sometimes being anomalous (power having) themselves.

In the SCP universe, none of the normal rules of reality apply and you have no way of knowing if physical contact will cause a worse reaction or if the reality distortions will behave like a disease and begin affecting you. That's the scary thing these guys have to deal with- the threat can be mind bending, reality bending, other or a mix and it often conforms to rules and patterns that make no sense at all.
