I know he had become a horrible person later, but I really loved him in the first few seasons and I don’t think that Jess treated her any better when he first got into town. Poor Dean, he wasn’t perfect but he didn’t deserve that. He was watching his girlfriend fall out of love with him and with another guy right in front of his eyes and there wasn’t a thing he could do about it.
He could've broken up with her as soon as he knew Rory like someone else, privately, without causing a scene. Instead he kept making her feel bad about getting along with someone who was pursuing her, when she wasn't actually pursuing Jess. She pushed Jess away a ton of times but he was persistent. Rory, too, should have been honest with herself and broken up with Dean. They were both young, immature, and inexperienced, and they were both cowards. He got pretty good experience with manipulating Rory's feelings though. Instead of being honest and fair, saying 'I can tell you like him, even if you're not trying to, so I don't think this is going to work out', he clung tighter and tighter and made life as difficult as possible for her because of his jealousy. All three were at fault imo, and I'm not willing to call Dean a victim, because he saw it coming a mile off and chose to get revenge by breaking up with her at that dance, knowing it was important to her, and knowing that they had an audience.

I loved the revival for the simple fact is showed dean moved on and had a happy life I went through a bad breakup around the age dean was portraying in the movie it was so relatable and I hated the original ending because it made it look like he never recovered say what you want about the revival but seeing dean move on definitely inspired me to aswell

Nah Dean was not a good guy. Dean shows what happens when you treat women as your property. tbh dean wasnt the best even without jess. the donna reed episode where he told rory that she had no opinions of her and especially the i love you episode raised a red flag. when rory was stressing about not having extra-curriculars dean didnt even try to comfort her and just complained how obsessed she was with harvard. rory also DID cheat on dean which was very wrong. i also think that rory was in denial with jess. i think people are forgetting that she was in denial about liking jess. she was still convincing herself she didnt like him up until deans break up which sent her to reality

Dean was good but he had major flaws from the beginning. He was overly possessive, always jumped to conclusions and screamed at rory without ever giving her room to explain herself, unless someone else calmed Dean down. The entire relationship Rory spent every moment thinking "what if I do this and it upsets Dean" ... He got upset in the littlest things. Rory had flaws too, many in fact but her flaws mainly came out, way later on in the seasons especially with Logan. But Dean was constantly overbearing and he just made things worse by constantly cheating on his wife and abusing her. If u watch the show many times you realise that he treated Lindsey the same way as Rory & worse. Rory got a very subtle version of him being aggressive because he genuinely did love Rory so he had tonned down version of his bad side for her. But he always had issues...

Poor Dean, he wasn’t perfect but he didn’t deserve that. He was watching his girlfriend fall out of love with him and with another guy right in front of his eyes and there wasn’t a thing he could do about it.
He could've broken up with her as soon as he knew Rory like someone else, privately, without causing a scene. Instead he kept making her feel bad about getting along with someone who was pursuing her, when she wasn't actually pursuing Jess. She pushed Jess away a ton of times but he was persistent. Rory, too, should have been honest with herself and broken up with Dean. They were both young, immature, and inexperienced, and they were both cowards. He got pretty good experience with manipulating Rory's feelings though. Instead of being honest and fair, saying 'I can tell you like him, even if you're not trying to, so I don't think this is going to work out', he clung tighter and tighter and made life as difficult as possible for her because of his jealousy. All three were at fault imo, and I'm not willing to call Dean a victim, because he saw it coming a mile off and chose to get revenge by breaking up with her at that dance, knowing it was important to her, and knowing that they had an audience.

Ok everyone is talkjng ab dean and rory and who is better but lets be fr. Rory grew up with the whole town loving her and everyone protecting her and no one letting her make a single mistake, and if she did then they would forgive her immediately. So she got this idea in her head that she can get away with anything because she's loved. And since she got everything she wanted all the time, she wanted what she couldn't have. Jess.
Now dean, he was a great bf and things started to go bad when Jess came cus it was sooooo obvious that rory liked jess and dean was slowly getting more drained and hurt because he knew the truth but loved rory too much. Jess, i don't even need to say anything. He's a jerk.
But to be fair dean did control her she couldn't even really do anything without him knowing or hangout with any boys without him being jealous

He was so manipulative and horrible that he made her feel like she did something horribly wrong and she didn’t even try to be with Jess she was trying to get Jess out of her life and dean was overreacting and rude and manipulating!

He was kinda bad to rory as well. He would raise his voice at her at times. He broke up with her because she didn't say I love you, which isn't good. She did cheat on him, though, which isn't good as well. All in all, they were a little toxic in their relationship, but in my opinion, it was a little more stable than her and Logans besides when he married Lindsay.

Okay, the fact that Dean was manipulative and mean to rory when she tried so hard not to fall for jess. Rory didn't mean to fall for jess it just happened it wasn't her fault. Dean was mean and controlling. He mightive been nice in the beginning, but peoples true personalities come out eventually. Jess was rorys comfort source she felt safe around him. She gets so much hate for no reason.
I know she cheated on him but he had anger issues and always expected the worst and dont forget how he treated his wife!

Dean was good but he had major flaws from the beginning.
He was overly possessive, always jumped to conclusions and screamed at rory without ever giving her room to explain herself, unless someone else calmed Dean down.
The entire relationship Rory spent every moment thinking "what if I do this and it upsets Dean" ...
He got upset in the littlest things.
Rory had flaws too, many in fact but her flaws mainly came out, way later on in the seasons especially with Logan.
But Dean was constantly overbearing and he just made things worse by constantly cheating on his wife and abusing her.
If u watch the show many times you realise that he treated Lindsey the same way as Rory & worse.
Rory got a very subtle version of him being aggressive because he genuinely did love Rory so he had tonned down version of his bad side for her.
But he always had issues...
