The best breakfast experience I've ever had was in turkey with a beautiful mountain view. It was 7am, i was the only customer at the time, and i ordered Menemen. As a foreigner they treated me so well even though i did not speak their language. I thank them for showing me this meal!
Lovely memories, hope you enjoy!
Same - but my view was of the Basphorus. Classic, polite, and kind people with so much to share. It was truly the most wonderful experience I have ever had.

I’m from Puerto Rico. I love menemen. I find it in a series, Sefirin Kizi, and immediately try the recipe, and it’s was amazing. I incorporated it to my regular breakfast. I add onions to the peppers, and sprinkle cheese after the eggs.
Thank you for this recipe and for your channel. I'm American, but I lived in Turkey for about 3.5 years from 2009-2012. I taught English in Istanbul and traveled to many areas of Turkey. I really miss the food, the culture and the people of Turkey. I especially loved Turkish breakfast and Menemen was definitely one of my favorite dishes. I look forward to trying some of your recipes, since genuine Turkish food is really hard to find here in California.
Hello and my pleasure! Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope meanwhile you have tried some of my recipes
I have been eating this dish for years as my father is from Turkey and often made it for us for breakfast! I never remember him using peppers though (probably because of his sensitive mide) but I shall try that when I make this dish next time. My mother is American and while she lived in Turkey for many years she learned many Turkish dishes from her mother-in-law who was a wonderful Turkish cook. My mother and father taught me many Turkish recipes and I include them on a weekly basis in our menus. Even though my husband is not Turkish (he is Honduran!) he has a well developed taste for Turkish food as well especially cold dolmasi. Now my mother has dimentia and I'm unable to check in with her when I need reminders for how to make a certain Turkish dish so I'm so glad I found your channel!!!! I especially enjoyed this video and the recent video with Sadiye Teyze on how to make gozleme. I have tried a couple of times to make this but now that I see how to make it correctly I will try it again!!!!
I will try this😍 Much love from the Philippines 🇵🇭 Salam to all the turks❤️
I visited Turkey in 2005 and really loved the cuisine as well as the countryside and history of Turkey. I hope to be able to go again. I plan to make this dish very soon! Love from 🇺🇸

This dish is my all-time favorite breakfast! I do a little variations, such as adding onions and a little bit of ketchup, minus the cheese and trust me it turns out as pizza filling!!! I have tried this with paneer (cottage cheese) also and it turned out just as tasty as it did with eggs!!! Love from India❤❤❤
My grandma used to make menemen with onions and without cheese. So you re not wrong, its another style of menemen. :)
My mom uses it as pasta sauce sometimes. ;) or as a tirit if some leftover. which means you cut to pieces and dry your stale bread, maybe in an oven, then add a small amount of water in your leftover menemen, boil it, and pour it over your dry bread. Let the bread soak, and eat. Its best if the bread is proper simple bread, made with yeast. those near pastry breads get soggy quickly.
Not the ketchup man :(
I was in Turkey less than a month ago and love Menemen, now I know how to make it. It looks so easy and healthy. If you haven't go to Turkey, go, it is a marvelous adventure.
