BBB was harder before, but after the rule britannia update and especially emperor they've added so many provinces that its much easier to do
I did it on 1.25 and it was easy there already (ended up wth one faith)
@@ZlewikkTV Mabye for a player of your caliber, but for most of us average to decent eu4 players BBB used to be alot harder when you had to no-CB it get it
@@Yell0wCheese I consider myself a good eu4 player, but BBB is hard for me. It's even harder because it goes against the way I play the game so hard. I hate this type of tedious playing. During BBB there's enough "this could go wrong" to make it interesting. But only just. It's why I've never managed a WC. I'm just too lazy XD
@@animewarrior3 not to be an ass to you specifically, but in my min eyes you cant call yourself a good eu4 player if you cant go out of your confort zone. I think the timed achivements (BBB, where the heart is, first tangoo empire etc) are pretty good teachers that take you from decent to good. As someone who has conpletrd a WC, i will agree its beyond tedius, but its worth it for that slick achivement on steam
@@Yell0wCheese I have. I have BBB, and I almost had true hier of timur but I had to stop playing for a couple weeks before the new update came out and lost the save. And at this point I've personally decided I don't enjoy that type of play since I'm inherently a tall player. But it Is true, timed achievements force you to learn the finer intricacies of the mechanics and I wouldn't be anywhere as knowledgeable on the game without at least having attempted a couple. Vassal swarming is a favorite of mine, since I can let them do most of the work at a certain point haha

I only tried BBB once. It was a few updates ago(Emperor release iirc). I got to about 87 by 1490. Didn't get Burgundian Inheritance and quit because I was about 30ish months away from bankruptcy looking at a sizeable coalition.

You know for some reason today I just realized that yeah I can consolidate my troops and hire mercs when I’m at half manpower. Don’t know why but you teach me something new every upload
With a little RNG, one could get the Iberian peninsula as a personal union as well as Naples, and if Burgundy is friendly, full inheritance after Charles dies. That would be an epic start to an ironman campaign.

It really depends who are you playing, what is your goal and what tech it is. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's the worst thing to do

Naah, we did what we wanted here. Any other goal like WC or Roman Empire formation would require far different strategy :p

i wonder how big is the potential coalition.. if you managed t avoid HRE you should be fine , though. and i'm surprised you didn't go for Iceland with their beautiful 3 dev provinces
The coalition was pretty much nothing. Just Italy and Mamluks inside. With countries like England and Denmark I could just keep the truce

Well, let's say that there were way less provinces in the game.
Also not sure about that, but development was also not a think, with base tax that replaced them
Guess they should add Bigger Blue Blob (150) and Biggest Blue Blob (200) into the achievements. Also France AI doesn't even blob that much in EU4, it was more of an EU3 thing.

Also I think you should have released Alencon - if you became curia controller quickly after you released it then you can easily get extra Diplo relations bonus and don't have to worry about diplo. It's unfortunate that you didn't get curia controller until 1496, hopefully the RNGods will favour you next time.

Awesome video Zlewikk but now try doing the same 200 province achievement with one of Poland/Lithuania/Muscovy. It might even be possible to get more than 200 in the same time if you start with Lithuania and PU both Poland and Muscovy.
Oh that's for sure way easier, there id far less ae there due to lower devved provinces and fifferent religions

Damn, what a coincidence! I just finished BBB today, it was really fun. I'll see if I can turn it to something bigger, a WC if possible.
One thing was in my mind though, what should be the first idea to pick? I got a Trastamara on the throne so I can PU Spain if they decide to colonize so I thought it'd be better to pick a millitary idea.
As France you dont have to pick anything miltary for a wc. It's pretty much always a mix of those 4 ideas that are crucial: diplo/admin/influence/humanist
@@ZlewikkTV Thanks for the advice, influence was in my mind as well since I am actively using vassals for now; I guess I'll go with influence and then admin.
Diplo is usually far better at start, influence is rather 3-4 idea pick

Don't forget that for a WC, you need to colonize every tiles. So the fifth idea would probably be expansion.

on a side note, in order to have a chance to get the burgundian inheritance as france, you need to send them a royal marriage request, cos if you accept them offering it, its bound to their ruler and it ends when their ruler dies which is the trigger for burgundian inheritancei and you need a royal marriage, +100 relations and have their army be less than 80% of yours for the best chance to get it as france
edit: royal marriage is absolutely necessary, the other two just increase the odds of the ai choosing you

Zlewikk btw you opening eco menu will recount dev cost so instead of waiting for month tick to dev you can do it instantly if you open eco menu

So I'm one of the few that didn't do the BBB (yet), I'm understanding I should go to Aragorn first, then Ireland, and then maybe Danemark through Scotland and Byzantium. Any tips for me?
For simple BBB you just have to unite french region and go after Ireland/Scotland/england and scandinavia. Absolutely nothing else needed

I tried many times conquering as much but I always end up with warly coalitions from random HRE nations that would later get england or aragon involved as soon truce ends wasting me time 😢
I would slightly change the start. Depending on the type of ruler scotland is, they might accept your call to arms against England. Ofc England will crush them and take land or break your allience. Both ist fine. If they take enough land, scontland my accept your offer to become your vassal, which gives you a very nice reconquest CB against England.
This also gives you more then enough time to siege all of france and deal with portugal.
what I would change would be going after Scotland faster so England doesnt eat their provinces :p
13:00 Why not use the "Return Core" deal for Byz cores? Why give them occupation then directly select them? Is it more prestige or some technicality like that?
It actually costs less warscore if you give it this way
I tried it once, and ran out of time because of the coring time in Scandinavia, I would've gotten it if not for that

Hey Zlewikk, there is a new nobility estate privilege, that gives you no penalty for annexing vassals. I don’t know if you forgot about it or just not using it on purpose. Už would help with your diplo reputation

I wouldn't call this campaign ruined by any means. If I want to expand as fast as possible the map literally always looks like this. :D
It's a very painful early game but you will have enough money from trade in the next 50 years to outrun the debt and the aggressive expansion is pretty manageable by conquering Muslims, Orthodox and only a bit of Catholic land, most of which is far away from the HRE. The next natural steps would be to dismantle the HRE and go into Muscovy and then Lithuania and going through Persia and the hordes into India and China right away. As you can actually steer the trade through the White Sea to the North Sea and the English channel. The biggest problem really is the current force limit and money situation because you don't have the resources to fight all the wars you want to fight at the same time.
This could be a Roman restoration guide to be honest
