Giga Grant He has been treated so poorly, and so hatefully, here in the American Opera press...No wonder he won't perform here. He makes my heart soar, and I adore him, both as a musician, and a human being!!
I adore Villazon but I must agree with Unotenore. I fervently hope that this great tenor will correct his vocal flaws and continue to sing for many more trouble-free years. If you listen without prejudice or foregone conclusions, you will hear how stressful his vocal production is. It breaks my heart. I wish Richard Bonynge would give him a few helpful tips.
Singing at the maximum of the voice limits results in the wrecking of the vocal instrument. The composer , Tosti did not intend to write a heroic aria to be sung at the top up your lungs. Mr. Villazon , please do not keep wrecking your voice. We want to hear you for a long time.
Rolando continues to show his old passion for singing, But he also repeats his tendency to oversing the music causing vocal stress. I can tell this when I see his tongue recede and bunch at the mid to back of the mouth, and his B-flat high note was not easy as it should be for him if he was singing correctly. Your rabbid fans will continue to fan your ego, my man, but you will have to live the crisis all over again if you don't reform your manner of uncontrolled emotion when singing.
