Nice comparison, I prefer my G70 3.3 AWD but the Acura is a nice offering. The Germans have a little more performance for sure but for the value, interior, good performance, and the fact people still don’t know what it is, the G70 is what earned my money.

How reliable has it been and what year and color combo do you have? I have a 23' G70 3.3T Sport Prestige with the Seville Silver exterior and Sevilla Nappa Red leather interior. I absolutely LOVE my car. I can't stop looking at it when I walk away. Just wish it was a litt more fuel efficient and easier to do maintenance on myself. Coming from a 16' Accord EX-L V6 Coupe, that thing was refined efficient and the easiest car to work on! Koreans make things a little more complicated. But still love my car and I get so many compliments and looks! So far it's been very reliable.

@@gabevillarreal4779 Mine is a 2020 3.3T AWD Prestige Vik Black Exterior and what ever the cream white interior color is. So far no issues at all and just under 29,000 miles. Fuel economy isn't great, my 6.4 Challenger TA did better on the highway even. I do love the overall performance and style of the car although I wish it would launch harder. Launch mode is really a joke as it doesn;t build any boost. I Just wish it had a little more trunk space and sometimes rear leg room. I have done regular oil changes and such myself but will bring it in for the 30,000 mile service since i think the clean the intake system or something for that.

@@ZacksRides YES I agree about it being a soft launcher. My guess is that it's for the purpose of durability. But once those turbos spool up it pulls like a mini freight train! It's faster than my accord v6 coupe but I did like the sound of the Honda's V-Tech V6 better! Smart move on the 30k induction service because turbocharging and direct injection are notorious for CARBON BUILD UP. I run BG44k Complete Fuel System cleaner in an empty tank then fill it up every summer before my trip to Texas and right at Christmas to help keep the carbon deposits at bay. Also I recommend that you use ONLY TOP TIER GASOLINE BRANDS AS THEY HAVE A MUCH HIGHER CONCENTRATION OF DETERGENTS THAN NON TOP TIER BRANDS TO KEEP OUR FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER YEAR ROUND. IM AN EXXON MOBIL GUY ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY. CURRENTLY HAVE SHELL IN HER BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSE TO WORK AND AT 2.54 A GALLON! Also we will need new spark plugs at 60k which sucks but it's the direct injection deal that causes the quick demise of the factory plugs by way of fouled plugs due to carbon deposits.. I'm saving 20$ a month for that service now so I have t h e cash ready. I'm only at 12k right now. And I only do FULL SYNTHETIC 5W-30 Pennzoil Ultra with a Purilator BOSS or Wix oil filter RELIGIOUSLY EVERY 5,000 MILES WHICH IS TWICE A YEAR FOR ME. Once in the summer and once before Christmas. If you start extending the oil change intervals with forced induction and direct injection you are asking for trouble with leaking gaskets and sludge formation not to mention poorer fuel economy then the vehiclealready has. Enjoy your car! I for sure am!

@@gabevillarreal4779 I have a 22 G70 3.3T Sport Prestige, no problems other than the rear window trim having some fading issue which the dealer replaced free of charge (guess it was a widespread issue). I don't baby it at all, I have a heavy foot and so far everything is mechanically sound. I still get looks everywhere I go which is nice, people always compliment the car. In all I'm really happy with it, more so than the Mercedes C300 that I traded it for, surprisingly the interior of this Genesis feels more durable than my old Merc, far less plastic feel and just feels more luxurious.

I'm surprised at how much positive press the TLX Type-S is getting after its refresh. I don't think Acura did much, if anything, outside of cosmetic updates and the new instrument screen so the driving experience hasn't really changed much from initial launch. Maybe at initial launch folks had different expectations of it to be more like a Type-R car, challenging directly to the Ms and AMGs. But now it seems more journalists are appreciating it for what it is, a tier below the all-out performance models and just a really solid sports sedan. And it looks amazing, especially in that new color. Not a fan of those copper wheels though especially since they add $2500 to the price LOL

I would like to see genesis make an 'N' whatever the performance name for Genesis would be version of the G70, but from what i've seen and experienced the RWD version is better driving wise, it's lighter and you don't really notice the lack of AWD except maybe during launches and in places that have a real winter. Also I dislike the 2024 update for the G70, instead of updating the gauge cluster to a digital cluster like the G80 has had for a few years now, they updated the climate controls to a touch screen, which is a tragedy. Personally I do like a mixed gauge cluster, if it's done well, but the G70 is a bit boring there.

It handles its weight well in terms of handling but 355 isn’t enough to move 4200 lbs if it wants to compete in this class. It's literally one ecu tune away fron what it should have been from day one. Acura should allow owners to get a factory tune for a fee.

The front and rear are disconnected and SH-AWD hides these issues until you go past 8/10th and then the car just can't. The Type-S is more money in Canada. less features, slower, less warranty, has more issues (transfer case, dash creaks, evap system, puddle lights etc) My dealership has been outstanding with full concierege for 5 years, though admittedly many US dealers aren't great. And Honda/Acura designs are just not to my liking. They don't look good to me,especially this tlx,and the new integra. I've always like Infiniti. Rear wheel drive,no cv axles to service, drive shafts almost never ever break, and their designs look better than Acura's for sure, and some Lexus's. woudn't be more fore sure^^) and even with 90hp I'm able to beat out models like a Hellcat, 'Stangs and other high powered ones at ease depending on the 'drive/race/battle situation' - if you know
what I mean. :p Mostly, it's not about the amount of power someone has, it's about how that one can handle the power he has. The majority of 'drivers' who for example own one of the previously
mentioned ones didn't even know how the car behaves and reacts at peak points or 'redline' situations (I show you a bournout!! *squeek*, *pang*, *bang* and down he goes the drainage, like seen
in countless vids here on YT... xD) and/or are simply NOT able to handle (a) that car and the forces it's able to made AT ALL. :)
To the Acura and Genesis - Personally I like the Integra more (even it's not like the real one, the DC2 ITR, as he is now a sedan than a coupé) because I prefer the 'sporty type' but the G70 I think is the far better choise if you're about to drive long distances regularly or even if there are more than two persons in a household, so parants and kids, he would play a good role as the big-daddy-sedan. :D
Here we have Genesis, as the lux brand it is from Hyundai, too but they aren't really that popular or gettin' high numbers in sales like it is compared to the U.S. and not even mention
their homeland market South Korea. MB, BMW and Audi are still dominating the GER/EU market since decades and none of the new lux brands from asian car companys - if it is Lexus, Genesis or Infinity, who had left the whole EU market as the first of those competing brands completely, are making as NEARLY the sales numbers as our 'big three'. But smat ones, who are able to look over the
dishes edge know that f.ex. a Lexus LS500h can easiely beat a MB S-class in price and by far in longterm quality, durability and costs - and the LS if way more stylish as such a dusty Benz...😁😘
Same for the G70 compared to an E-class or so - the 'what you pay and what you get' ratio is mostly way more better in those 'underdogs' than in the 'every bodys darling' corner.
Big names don't mean big gain in every thing and every time. :P

don't buy genesis. the quality of service is terrible. You are basically getting service from hyundai dealership, and if your area has a lot of hyundai cars, then your earliest available service appointment for service will be in 2 weeks, and even if you have genesis, the hyundai dealerships won't give you priority to service your vehicle. You are buying a luxury vehicle, but your service will be buying regular non-luxury car. And the quality of service is no different from hyundai. people are buying genesis due to cheaper price point compared to Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, but you will be getting the quality of hyundai service which is worse than Honda and Toyota. BTW I am Korean and own G70

TLX TYPE S for ME! Acura Dealerships have been all great experiences and with how PRICEY all cars are getting! yes they FINALLY See a DAILY DRIVEN performance inspired SEDAN with an amazing AWD SYSTEM! that is not only capable but also RELIABLE and will hold it's VALUE. Also Acura maintenance is relatively much cheaper than any euro counterpart.

Not the last decade. The last decades, since the 90s. And Genesis is not on par with BMW, Bens, Audi, Lexus, or Acura. Genesis still uses typical Hyundai busted easily broken engines that Hyundai frequently denies to repair under warranty.

That’s a myth . I looked at a 2023 TLX type S with 16,562 miles on it less than a year old, on trade in the value was $41,772 on a car that the person traded in the sticker was $56,795.00. Dealer turned around and is trying to sell it for $49,490with over 16,000 miles. That’s why I say it’s a myth that Acura always push that Acura’s have excellent resale value .Same old BS.💩pushed by Acura.

Germans are LUXURY sports cars, Genesis is Korean(!). Luxury and Korean cannot be used in the same sentence. Nobody buys a Casio watch over Rolex for 10,000$ just because Casio is lighter or has a calculator! people who spend top dollar for German sports car do care about the prestige and brand recognition that is associated with them, Genesis has none!

@@JayJay-he9bkur stuck in the past. 1. The b58 and s58 engines are widely renowned as the best engines being made right now. They have an extremely high reliability rating. 2. If u buy a bmw M car they don't depreciate nearly at all until after newer platforms are released which is every 5 years or so. Also 10k more.. well depending on the car u are correct but u get what u pay for. Better luxury, better tech, better perfromace.
