We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in Chennai, India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. I mean triple price from the local makes sense since it helps thailand tourism, to charge 400baht each is kinda crazy. A good friend of mine used to treat me to thailand and we did went to the emerald pool a lot, i didnt even know they charge that high(we're Malaysian). Dang

I was thinking of visiting Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand on one trip. Wow, the price for foreigner is so expensive. I am not sure if I want to visit Thailand.
Government places such as national park give benefit like cheaper price for the local/citizen because they get fund by the tax. Btw source of government income are not only from the tax, but also from national resources that government sell to the private company for example mining, oil etc. which belong to all Thai citizen. The Thai people have every right to get cheaper entrance fee than the foreigners because that place get fund by the government. The foreigners didn’t get higher price than normal price, they get normal price while the local/Thai citizen get discount price. The western countries also have dual pricing, they just hide it well with the ‘discount for the local resident’. If Thai people want to travel to western countries, they have to pay expensive VISA while the westerner can enter the country for free. When the Asian study at western countries, they also have to pay extra more expensive for the tuition fee than the local there.

I had gone there almost 20 years ago, and went there again 2 years ago. I would say the maintenance or management is so poor. It was ever much more beautiful place. Or perhaps the effect from climate change.

I'm Thai. I saw a 400 baht entrance fee for the Emerald Pool for foreigners. And it seems unfair
But all the money you guys paid Every baht will be sent to the Ministry of Natural Resources
And those funds will be used to manage national parks throughout the country
