In this video I will be repairing the screen on a Mobile Android Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 device, This is not a guide on how to repair the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, its just how I repair it. I will take no responsibility if you follow this video and attempt to repair your own device and break it or damage it. You follow this video at your own risk.
Tools I used in this hardware repair are.
1. spudgers and guitar pics
2. hot air rework station
3. screwdriver
4. new digitizer screen
5. Isopropanol
6. microfibre cloth

This looks easy to do. I did my first touch screen on an Hp laptop was very stressful finished successfully then spilled coffee on it. Thank G-d I shut it down real quick and blow dried it. It was a miracle it came back on. Every so often I get the call from my family this time I wont cringe as your video will be my guide. Thanks for uploading
Thank you so much. I couldn't have done it without your tutorial! I didn't have the fancy knife tool, I just used a small sharp knife and it did the job just perfectly. I now have a fully working tablet again that looks like brand new! Your tips were very helpful. Although what would have helped me was a clear shot of the things I had taken out and from where - I managed to lose the on button and spent ages trying to fit something else there and couldn't fathom why it wasn't working. Then I realised my error!
Hands down the best video I have watched on how to do it. Some of these guys with vids up I wouldnt let touch my trash can let alone electronics. Great video buddy.

Thank you so much, Brian! I managed to replace my screen with your video. Your 16 minute video took me 4 hours though lol. It's okay, I took my time to make sure I didn't royally fuck up beyond repair so those 4 hours were definitely worth it. I almost took my home button off too but caught that in time! Very helpful video. I was able to replace my friend's screen relatively easy. This screen was far easier to replace that other Samsung tablet screens I have done.
In my *opinion* I don't think it necessary to remove the battery and motherboard, but that's just me. I do understand your reasoning and agree with it; no point in risking affecting the solder. I was (lucky?) able to remove the old screen with good tools and patience.
(Also - I didn't have a heat gun or hair dryer available.)

I am a complete novice yet using this video as a guide I successfully replaced the screen on my son's tablet. The hardest part was separating the screen since it was shattered so kept fracturing as I worked my way around the glue.

Great video, fixed mine, works great, but one word of caution, my first try I broke the new screen, their very fragile, I pushed on a spot the wasn't quite inside the frame right and crack, arrrgghhh, 2nd time around I took more care and time, viola success, good luck, have fun!

My frend has the exact same model, hopefully it wont get damaged but i have a better chance of replacing the glass if it goes, thank you :-)
Its not knowing the details of construction that allways trips me up, ive had trouble with dissasembling some laptops due to lack of knowing about hidden screws or flat cables under fake fasia plates.
Stacks of different sizes of screws, ive often used parcel labels to stick groups of screws to a part so i know where they go.
I do a video of a tear down and show you a easy way to tear down laptops.

great video however a slight mention to not damage the home button as it wasnt noted on here, when removing the glass.
great job with repair. I took mine off but broke the Key Keypad Home Button Flex Cable assembly. Fixed that But now I am getting a quirky double entry when i am trying to enter numbers like putting birth dates etc :(

Britec09 Thanks! I let you know te results. We ordered a digitizer clone. So I think it's not the original one. Bought it for about 15USD on Ebay.
I dont have one of those fancy knives. would a sharp exacto knife accomplish the same task?

Thanks for this guide. I used it to replace my digitizer, but unfortunately now my back and menu buttons don't work anymore. All the other hardware buttons still work though. Is there a separate ribbon for the back and menu buttons? I can't find any separate replacement parts. I'm afraid I might have damaged it when I was trying to get under the broken digitizer with a prying tool... :(

So my tab 4 glass screen isnt broken no cracks or anything of the sort. The image however is d8storted. Certain parts of the screen the image may be fuzzy and other spots image maybe split. Does this have to do with the digitizer as well or do i have a different issue?
While I am replacing the glass, is there any way of fixing the design fault which means if I let the battery run down I have to disconnect the battery leave it for a while and reconnect to get it to charge again ? I was getting so frustrated I was contemplating binning it before I actually dropped it yesterday !

Dropped my tablet and the screen is cracked . went from pink screen to black screen with partial edge lighting , could this be caused by the cracked screen as well as the pink screen it use to have .

Been looking to get my tab 3 fixed but dont even know where to start the screens cracked and my hole screen is pink...still works but really annoying..keep cutting my finger on the crack can anyone recommend anywhere thatll fix it an how much
if your damaging the motherboard during installation. ESD measures are not being taken, earth yourselves peeps.

A blow dryer it will just take longer to heat up.

+Magdalena Herrington it seems that most likely it was just the digitizer cable. That would really be the only cable you could damage prying the screen off.
ok well I think I'm done lol. I can fix simple things but I think I'll leave this stuff to the pros. I'm gonna take it up to a local shop and see what the damage is. Thank you.
+Derek Osmulski Ok so I decided to give it another go and got the screen off but I also took the home button off. Is that a problem? I see that it has two little back plastic parts attached to it that seem to hold it in place, well I broke one of those. Will the home button still work?
