- Fifty years ago, a 70-year-old spiritual teacher from India arrives in the West and settles among the hippies of New York’s Lower East Side. From a tiny storefront, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami starts a revolution of consciousness influencing tens of thousands in the U.S. and worldwide. But what happens to his movement after their charismatic leader’s passing? Will it survive? Will it change? Can an ancient Eastern spiritual tradition be relevant in the modern 21st century?

@@jesussavesforever6264 right brother'..I was thinking the same before visiting ISKCON...you have comments on Hinduism with hate rather than logics...you are worrying about conversation of the the western white people rather than your own religion..when a person says I am the messanger of God.. indeed he is .. when a person says I am the Son of God.indeed he is.. but krishna says in Bhagwat Geeta I AM THE GOD!! ...now you see everyone is Right...start with love rather than hate ...I have studied Islam for 8 years ... Christianity for 2 years ... going to learn about Buddhism ....all leads to joy and happiness ..all leads to Krishna.. because He is the God.

This is a great documentary, and I too distribute prsadam in London and my dear friend Parasuram goes once a year to India for a month to distribute prsadam. Now, this isn't a critisism, but why do these parents have so many children when they know they cannot feed them? Some Indian families have many children that they simply cannot feed? I agree with free distribution of food, but surely people having so many children is the cause of such poverty? Please don't be offended by my comment. Hare Krishna!
I think when you look from their shoes, it is pure economics and provides more protection as many hands can bring in better revenue and support. It is often that poor people often have more children and rich people have lesser children despite the fact that richer people can look after the kids better
Infant mortality used to be high in India and looks like the poor still have a fear of losing their kids. Plus, if the first born is a girl, the parents might keep trying until they give birth to a boy. Education is slowly changing all that and awareness is spreading. 👍
The amount of children one has isnt the cause of their poverty,it’s because they have been exploited and forced to adopted westernization.They are no longer self sustaining.
It is basically lack of education that leads people do thing ignorantly...
When people would be educated then this problem would be solved.
This is beautiful and inspiring. It makes me proud to be part of the mission of Krishna consciousness
