    With how fast and hard Dodrio hits with STAB moves, it's not all that risky to use them against psychic types, so long as Dodrio hits first or flies up to avoid Psychic.
    Also, with their normal typing, that does help against all of Agatha's ghost types, leaving them with easily dodged status moves.

      Instead of using them cannons to shoot out hydro pump better off teaching him blizzard and shooting ice out of them cannons instead. He will take out venusaur in just 2 hits. As venusaur will most likely charge up for a solarbeam on his first turn and then will be taken out by a 2nd blizzard before hes got a chance to use it.

      @@ismetcehic5581 So many Bug types, who can't actually use any offensive Bug type moves. The only offensive Bug types moves in gen 1 were Twineedle and Pin Missle (Who were Beedrill exclusive) and Leech Life. However, Bulbasaur is neutral to Bug types moves due to it being part Poison.
      The Flying types needed to rock Drill Peck, Peck, Fly or Wing Attack, since Gust was a Normal type move as well (Meaning Butterfree is pretty much eliminated from both categories already, considering). Only thing Butterfree has to deal with Bulbasaur is Confusion (But considering Psychic isn't taken into consideration, it doesn't count).
      Pidgey doesn't get acces to Wing Attack until lvl 28 (Which is also the only flying type move it learns by lvl up) after which it can only learn Sky Attack (2-turn move) and Fly via TM and HM. Pidgetto learns Wing Attack at lvl 31 in gen 1. So basically, the Pidgey line is out as a threat for Bulbasaur.
      Spearow knows Peck from the start, but then has to wait for its upgraded move Drill Peck until lvl 28, unless you already have Fearow, then its on lvl 34 where it learns Drill Peck (And then same applies for it only Sky Attack and Fly it can learn via TM and HM). So basically, the Fearow line doesn't pose a threat to the Bulbasaur line either.
      Dodrio line is in the same boat (Has Peck from the start, but doesn't learn Drill Peck until lvl 30). However, its more of a threat to the Bulbasaur Line than the previous 2 lines in mentioed, because the Dodrio line gets a better lvl up moveset.
      And then we have Farfetch'd, who only gets Peck by lvl up and Fly via TM.
      So no, the Bulbasaur line is good, even with Bugs types (Which it takes Neutral hits from) and the Flying types (Only Dodrio is a real threat).

    Odd moveset choices here. Give thunder wave to Raichu, it's a great move and you need something to status legendary birds and Mewtwo to catch them. Submission on Blastoise is pointless, even something like withdraw would be better here. Give Hitmonlee Seismic toss to hit ghosts, and Dodrio needs Hyper Beam. The Snorlax looks quite fun though.

    • @tarvold2492
      @tarvold2492 Před 3 lety +1

      @AccidentalGenius You do need something to status legendaries in gen 1 or the balls just keep on missing. Seismic toss hits ghosts in gen 1. Submission non STAB, only 80 damage and 80 accuracy plus horrible recoil. STAB surf is going to do more damage usually, with the exception of Chansey. It already has EQ as a better physical attack. Withdraw is much better because of the badge boost glitch, so it's boosting all stats, not just defence. Maybe needed isn't the right word, but hyper beam on Dodrio is awesome due to stab and it's sky high attack and crit rate.

    • @jaketno
      @jaketno Před 9 měsíci

      @@west7965 Withdraw can trigger the badge boost glitch for set up (Look it up if you don't know what it is) and Submission has poor accuracy and recoil. Blastoise doesn't really need fighting coverage either. It beats rock types just fine with its water moves and ya it won't have anything super effective against normal types but a good set up and its other moves should handle them anyway.

  • @SSJNathanDavies
    @SSJNathanDavies Před 3 lety +1

    Hitmonlee is the best Fighting type in Gen 1, not out of favouritism but because it has the most Fighting Type moves and learns the best fighting type move in the game, there is no Punching moves that is fighting type, Machamp line only has Low Kick and Submission, Primeape line and Poliwrath only learn submission through TMs

    Was going to use this team in fire red...then I saw Snorlax’ move set. Can I replace Amnesia with something that would raise its special attack stat? Amnesia in generation 2 onwards only raises special defence.
    Edit: there’s actually a few moves I need to swap out. I’ll have to swap out submission for brick break on Blastoise and replace pay day on Raichu for something else (was looking forward to some extra coinage in my wallet as well).
