    This was the fairytale to end all fairytales. A team who survived by the skin of their teeth the previous season going on to win the league. Its truly inspirational. It gave all the other smaller teams hope that they too can achieve big things. That the Fulhams, Bournemouths, and Brightons of this world can replicate what happened here. This was a team that aimed high and worked super hard. Look where it brought them.

    This was truly world shattering.
    Little Leicester toppled titans, not by fluke, but by winning time after time. It was simply unfathomable. It would be like jamaica or Madagascar winning the world cup. Unthinkable. They went up against money, wealth, status and power, the best teams funds could buy and beat them with grit, determination and faith in themselves. They didn't just punch above their weight once, they did it again and again and again. From this point on every other small team had hope that they could be the next Leicester and that will never ever fade. It could well be the greatest underdog story football has ever told.
    People can argue about knockout tournements, a few games over a month or so, but to compete at a level far higher than anyone ever dreamed? To beat champions again and again? To keep fighting even though you are facing the huge spending power of giants? Thats different. That is truly special. It is hard to ever see it being replicated, the utter drive these boys had to do what they did happens once in a century.
    Miracles truly do happen, i just never thought i would see it firsthand.

    I don’t think this historic moment is talked or even mentioned about enough right now. Fans, news, media is just mostly talking about players moving around clubs for hundreds millions of pounds. Something that literally happens all the time. Mark my words, Nothing like this moment will ever happen in anyone’s lifetime.

    OG's know how good Claudio Ranieri was, prior to this he was also managing Chelsea before Abramowich arrival and finished 4th in the league to qualify for Champions League. Without him maybe there would be no Abramowich at Chelsea and all the records they achieved. Remember that. And then they sacked him for no reason.

    • @Stephen_Platt
      @Stephen_Platt Před 2 lety +1

      Because he’s a poor manager. Known as the Tinkerman, was an underwhelming appointment (“Claudio Ranieri? Really?” - Gary Lineker) and has failed in every job he’s had since Leicester, who sacked him for being awful after that season.
      He can’t even take credit for this win. Nigel Pearson built the momentum with the previous season’s end and Steve Walsh was incredible with his player recruitment. Ranieri had to be persuaded to sign Kanté, then tried to play him on the wing!

      @@Stephen_Platt Obviously you don't watch football much, or you just started watching him a couple years ago. I've been watching it since 97-98. Claudio was always a great manager. He finished 4th with Chelsea in 2002/2003 season above Liverpool and qualify for CL, won the league with Leicester city when Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool all teams were extremely strong. You really think its easy to win a premiership, you think anyone can do it? You know that without a good manager it doesn't matter what squat you have and you wont win any titles.

    • @Stephen_Platt

      @@Legenda20SLO when City, United, Liverpool and Arsenal were all strong? City who were managed by Manuel Pellegrini and who took their foot off the gas when his departure was announced? And *still* City finished above United. Liverpool who finished 8th? Their joint worst ever final position since pre-Shankly?? Come off it 😂😂😂 He’s had a track record for things going south because of his negative tactics and constant tinkering of his team going back to the early 2000s. I never said anyone can win the prem, but it’s not like he was the only one who performed the miracle. He was helped *greatly* by circumstance and the people around him. He lost 1 player and his results went down the pan at Leicester. A player he didn’t even want! He got sacked somewhat harshly by Chelsea in 2004, but then hardly set the world alight in any of his jobs until Leicester, then things went south like they had done in his last several jobs.
