Kwatha Calling - A Documentary

As a part of Foundation for Social Transformation (FST)'s Youth Leadership Development Program Sonia Nepram hailing from Manipur worked on the project titled “Kwatha Calling- A Documentary”.
Kwatha, a village in Manipur located in Tengnoupal of Chandel District that shares an international border with Burma that is approximately 18km away. Kwatha village has huge potential for eco-tourism and abundance of natural resources. The kwatha villagers have to walk 10km to reach the AH1 Asian Highway. The lack of transport has added more problems to the villagers.Eventually, people came to know about the beautiful place of Kwatha. In October 2016, youth from the urban Imphal organized a festival in Kwatha to promote eco-tourism .The people were selling handmade bamboo products, indigenous brew, vegetables etc.
The documentary throws light on the life at Kwatha village by and large.

The Govt of Manipur should look into these matters.
Provide them with incentive,schemes to uplift their livelihood.
Requesting any govt. Officials seeing this make an effort towards providing them with good opportunities.

Manipur government should take immediate action to developed the road as well as school, primary health center. How miserably these villagers are living from the beginning . It is our shamefull after 75 independence we are not able to develop our state. It's the fault of manipur government. It's the policy maker fault. What the local MLA is doing. He can't see these people condition. How heartless politician. Aren't they our brothers and sisters. I am from tripura meitei community really seeing this video I am shocked still these they are living primitive age. I don't know whether these comment will help to open manipur government eyes.
