    British former-Naval Intelligence officer and "James Bond" author Ian Fleming (1908-1964) always wore Floris 89 Eau de Toilette !

    My first full bottle of a Floris. Bought it 2 years ago, have about an inch left. Glad you got one. I do like this and No89. There are others by Floris that are excellent, but I think I enjoy these the most. Thanks for the review, I think you've described it correctly.

    Based on your review of the Floris 89 I purchased it, and enjoy it very much. I will probably give this one a try as well, after all I am of the proper age group.
    Thanks for the review, as always it was well done.

    I have 89 and Neroli Vogage from Floris. I also purchased a few sample size of a few different ones to try out. Very classic.

    I bought a sample bottle of this to try as i wanted to see if i liked it. As i had a forthcoming short break to London coming up. I really liked it and my plan was to visit Jermyn Street and visit the Floris shop. I managed to get to Jermyn Street but the Floris shop was closed so i did not manage to purchase a bottle. Soon as i got back home i ordered it online. Its such a classic fragrance to wear. The visit to the Floris shop is first thing on my next trip to London.

    Good morning!
    "Old fashioned" you say... - get me a bottle!😆
    I'm just a bit under 40 but old fashioned and, as friends somewhat critically state, I've been "[...] 60 since you're 23", so it falls right into my orbit.
    For the last couple of years I've been using the substantially Betgamote-esque *Aramis* for a while to which it sounds somewhat similar.
    Like every fragrance review it adds something new to my "try" list, much like *Quorum* last time.
    So another thank Ash seems apropriate!
    Best regards
    Raoul G. Kunz

    Another very enjoyable review, Ash. Special 127 for spring and summer, or for the office. No 89 for the colder months. I enjoy both, but I find Special 127 easier to wear and I prefer its lighter nature.
    I'd recommend you try Pour Monsieur by Chanel (the eau de toilette, not the EDP).

    Good Morning Ash: I am looking for a fragrance for a fragrance gift for a high school graduate. He is an old soul so that is why I am leaning towards Floris. I have Floris Elite, Cefiro and Bergamotto d' Positano. I am leaning towards Neroli Voyage and 127.
    What are you suggestions?

    • @TheChapsGuide
      @TheChapsGuide  Před 6 měsíci

      Hard to recommend for a stranger, but I’m having a minor love affair with the original Eau Sauvage by Dior (not to be confused with the modern Sauvage a la Johnny Depo). It is modestly priced and utterly chic.

    Hi Ash a question.
    I have not decided yet whether to get 89 or 127. I watched this video and you said that Floris 89 is smells stronger than Floris 127? Is it? Thanks

    • @TheChapsGuide
      @TheChapsGuide  Před rokem

      127 is a milder and less heavy sent, although they both have many fragrance similarities. 89 is a winter scent and 127 better for the summer.

    • @ernestobalagtas726
      @ernestobalagtas726 Před rokem

      Thanks Ash. One more please. I think I thought and heard that 89 is a summer cologne because it is citrussy. Is it citrussy mainly?. This will finally help me decide on my purchase. Thanks.

    Ash I believe I might just try the 89 sometime soon. I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to something similar to Drakar it's very similar to the Abercrombie and Fitch "Woods" I used to use in the 1980s. They have sence discontinued. I have been using it but would like to try something different. Thanks Ron

    • @TheChapsGuide
      @TheChapsGuide  Před 2 lety +1

      Scent is so subjective it's hard to make a suggestion here - but my favourite 'strong' fragrance has always been Chanel Antaeus - not similar really to Drakkar, but fiendishly smooth and masculine. The new Drakkar Intense could also be a good fit for you. It is strong and bears many similarities to Drakkar Noir - really cheap too!

    I appreciate the nature around, always refreshing in your videos. Since you are living in England this question must be asked: how come that there is so much sunshine in so many of your clips? Where has the fog of Edgar Wallace gone!? 😉😂. P.S. No 89 is the best perfume I have ever had.

    • @TheChapsGuide
      @TheChapsGuide  Před 2 lety +2

      The UK is a sunny country in the summer months, the image of a rainy, foggy country has very much been exaggerated in the literary world to create atmosphere and tension. It certainly does get chilly and wet in the autumn & winter, but our temperate climate is definitely a major advantage to living here (never too hot, never too cold, never drought, never flood) - with occasional exceptions obviously!
